Duāng Duāng, Bǎobǎo

Duāng Duāng Bǎobǎo (成龍成龍 寶寶) – or, in English, Boing Boing, Baby. Here are six more delightful gifts from China. We may hate the disease that they spread across our land, and we may bemoan the economic damage their Democrat allies caused as a result of it, but we should appreciate how the locked-in, attention-starved Kung Flu-zies dealt with it by using China’s best-inserted espionage tool.

And… A Bonus Factoid

Boing or Duāng didn’t – and technically still doesn’t in the Chinese language, especially in the context of unexpected boob bounces/drops, a favorite of manga, anime, and, apparently, attention-seeking girls in quarantine. Duāng was actually coined by Jackie Chan in the early 2000s.

That’s why I had to write it with two characters. The image to the left isn’t in unicode; it was created by “netizens” in the wake of Duāng‘s viral spread.

😆 And now you have a new factoid and a somewhat better understanding of part of why I’m a polyglot and a lover of linguistics.

Final Note: Both the created hanzi and the formal, two-character breakout I used are actually Jackie Chan’s Chinese stage name, Long Chen – roughly translated, “Become The Dragon.”

That’s one of the biggest and most important, if not the biggest and most important, threats facing the Civilized, Free, Western World today – the blurred and biased line between facts and fiction today. Between the Lamestream Media’s Fake News and Social Media’s “Fact Checkers,” it’s largely impossible for anyone to distinguish between facts and fiction.

But then, this hellish situation should hardly be considered unexpected. After all, just as an informed Citizenry is necessary to Democracy, a misinformed Citizenry is needed for tyranny to sink its roots in society. And there are certain sorts who sorely desire such tyranny… for all the best reasons of course.

It’s honestly like that these days and has been in ever-increasing severity for many years. Various Leftist and other anti-White/anti-American sorts, e.g., the entirety of the “Black Community,” are tuned to- and trained for being outraged by whatever the Lamestream media tells them be outraged over.

Understand, these sorts are addicted to being outraged. The Lamestream media, reinforced by the social media platforms, has hooked them on it and turned them into outrage junkies. And, like all dealers in destructive things, they greatly profit from their junkies. Indeed, the closest analogy I can come up with is the Lamestream media “whores out” the outrage junkies, much like some pimps addict their “strings” to ensure some level of commitment and loyalty. This is because, to the media, those junkies are products, not customers.

It’s A Total BUMMER

Jaron Lanier, one of the pioneers of Virtual Reality, coined the acronym, BUMMER in his 2018 book, Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now. It means ‘Behaviors of Users Modified and Made into Empires for Rent’ and it aptly describes what the Lamestream Media and Social Media does. They addict people to the outrage they peddle, then rent them to their advertisers and/or the Democrat party.

Social media is biased, not to the Left or the Right, but downward. The relative ease of using negative emotions for the purposes of addiction and manipulation makes it relatively easier to achieve undignified results. An unfortunate combination of biology and math favors degradation of the human world. Information warfare units sway elections, hate groups recruit, and nihilists get amazing bang for the buck when they try to bring society down.

Lanier, due to his tech hyperfocus, focuses on Social Media, but one can see the same pattern for the same economic reasons in the larger, more traditional media forms and outlets as well. Also, while there might not have been a bias to the Left, there is such a bias today. The new generation of media employees started work with their outrage addiction already in place and getting their fix is easier when their worldview has been modified to fit a Leftist ideology.

Yeah, the sheeple on the Left have been hooked on the dopamine-driven outrage response by the Lamestream and Social Media. They just get their fix from their phone, phablets, tablets, and PCs instead of from a needle, pipe, or line. In the end, junkies are junkies and dealers are dealers.

In some ways, I almost feel sorry for Mark Zukerberg – almost. I might even actually do so if he didn’t so richly deserve pretty much everyone’s despite, and if I were actually capable of extending that level of empathy to an enemy.

Zuckerberg is beset from both sides. Americans rightfully hate and loath him because he’s used Facebook to silence them and shape public opinion to further Democrat agendas. And, at the same time, Democrats and other enemies of the American People loath him because Facebook has been less than totally successful in their attempted censorship.

And it’s not just rank and file Americans and Leftists. House Democrats have demanded his testimony on not preventing Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory and the Dept. of Justice is trying to rescind parts of the law that allows Facebook – and other social media platforms – to pick and choose who and what topics they silence while maintaining their protection from lawsuits.

Yeah, seems that just about everybody is unfriending Mark Zuckerberg. Of course, it’s not like he probably cares. One, he’s already got more money than he could ever reasonably spend. And, Two, it’s not like “unfriending” meant that any significant number of us or the Left have or will stop using his platforms and, thereby, being part of his product portfolio and income stream.
