Reflections From a Murky Pond

I freely admit that, despite my disgust with the entirety of the Hipster subculture, I do love me some irony. 😉 I especially love irony that based upon- and caused by some jabbering idiot making idiotic statements, comparisons, and demands without even bothering to consider the overall context of the situation, themselves, or the agenda and/or constituents that they claim to represent.

The grifting blacktivist, Jesse Jackson’s latest jabbering screed is a perfectly example of this.

The irony! Feel it burn. Little is better on a cold, Winter’s day.

Phil Robertson’s homophobic comments to GQ were MORE OFFENSIVE than the words uttered by bus driver who tried to force Rosa Parks to sit on the back of his bus in 1955 … so says civil rights leader Jesse Jackson.

Jackson came out firing against the “Duck Dynasty” star this week … explaining, “These statements uttered by Robertson are more offensive than the bus driver in Montgomery, Alabama, more than 59 years ago.”

“At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law. Robertson’s statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was ‘white privilege.'”

Jackson is demanding a meeting with A&E and Cracker Barrel execs … and even issued a Friday deadline … urging the network to uphold Robertson’s suspension from the reality show.

Firstly, given the “Black Community’s” fear and loathing of homosexuals, which far outpaces the “homophobia” of normal, White Americans but which is largely swept under the rug by the media, it’s very ironic that Jackson would make any statement about Robertson’s comments.

Out of fairness I have to say that TMZ could have got it wrong. Jackson could have been talking about Robertson’s comments on the happiness of the local Blacks way back when.

If that’s the case, Jackson’s jabbering isn’t ironic; it’s just a ridiculous and insulting false equivalency, but an expected one from a creature that makes it rent off of maintaining racism in the “Black Community”.

Secondly, the irony of some aging ghetto grievance-monger acting in even the least way as if his opinion or that of the thuggish hordes he claims to speak for would matter at all to a restaurant chain named Cracker Barrel is beyond the pale.

This is, indeed, the Blackest irony. 😆

It seems that the paramount queer activist group GLAAD who spearheaded the assault on Phil Robertson which led to A&E’s suspension of him aren’t so happy right now. It seems that this group, which specializes in attacking anyone and everyone who isn’t on board with the gay agenda, has been on the receiving end of unprecedented levels of angry backlash from normal Americans over their manufacturing outrage and attacking the popular American television personality because he said homosexuality was a sin.

GLAAD’s Vice President of Communications Rich Ferraro, speaking to The Wrap, seemed neither too glad nor too gay about the people’s response to GLAAD’s actions. 😉

“In the five-and-a-half years I’ve worked at GLAAD, I’ve never received so many violently angry phone calls and social media posts attacking GLAAD for us speaking out against these comments,” the media watchdog organization’s vice president of communications Rich Ferraro told The Wrap.

He said those reactions range from those who simply believe as Robertson believes to those who feel that GLAAD and A&E’s actions limit the reality star’s free speech.

Unsurprisingly, yet ironically, and hysterically, GLAAD’s mouthpiece sound a bit butthurt over Americans’ response to A&E’s suspension of the Christian television personality at GLAAD’s behest.

I guess, however, that the voice of the angry queers is just going to have to learn to bend over and take it. I wouldn’t think, given his obvious and openly proclaimed preferences and proclivities, that this should be too hard for Ferraro.

Hard or not though, it something that Ferraro, GLAAD, and queers in general are going to have to learn. American culture has become, for good or ill, very tolerant of homosexuality. We’re not in the least, however, tolerant of agendists manufacturing outrage, attacking our own, and decrying a negative opinion of homosexual sex as defamation, “hate speech,” or some other form of bigotry.

Addendum / Update: I’m betting that they’re not only not glad but downright sad now. A&E has reversed their suspension of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson and on Jan 15, will be airing new episodes of the show that include scenes featuring the feisty patriarch.

“There’s no negotiation to have; we’re doing the show,” said an insider close to the situation. “We’ll figure out a solution. It’s just not going to happen overnight. Everybody will take a break for the holidays and regroup afterward. That’s probably the smartest thing for everyone to do. Time heals a lot of wounds.”

That’s going hurt GLAAD’s feelings because it either means that normative American’s outrage beat out GLAAD’s or that the whole suspension was just a publicity mechanism and that A&E just used GLAAD and their following like a cheap rent boy.

Really! You’ve got to love fish. Hopefully you also love fishing because it’s one of life’s better entertainments.

Well here are six women, all celebrities, who love fish enough to get naked with them in order to draw attention to the sad fact that we’re not practicing anything remotely close to what could be called intelligent and sustainable fishing practices and, resultantly, we’re crashing fish populations.

This is a world apart from- and at least an order of magnitude better than PETA’s stupid attempt to manipulate children with their Sea Kittens campaign atrocity. Then Fish Love is a practical and pragmatic group of activists whereas PETA is a cult of pseudo-religious fanatics so this is to be expected.

The British environmental activist group, Fishlove was set up in 2009 by Nicholas Röhl, co-owner of the Japanese restaurant MOSHIMO, and actress Greta Scacchi to raise awareness of the unsustainable fishing practices that are destroying the the earth’s marine ecosystem and threatening local economies across the globe.

Yes, it’s true that Fish Love, like all activists, bases their actions on the worst-case scenario and probably overplays the immediacy of the threat to both marine ecosystems and local economies. That doesn’t, however, mean that they’re in any way shape or form wrong in slightest about the threat itself.

If nothing else, and to expand upon Fish Love’s theme, we don’t want this to come to an end, now do we?

So we really need to fish more responsibly if we want to continue fishing in the future.

When dealing with activists of any stripe, be it racial, gender, sexuality, or a pet cause, be aware of one simple thing – They will almost invariably speak their subcultural allegiance first and the truth second if at all. This is a negative trait that is self-reinforcing because all of these causes preach a form of orthodoxy that requires such relegation of the truth to, at most, secondary standing as a metric of “authenticity” on the activists’ parts.

What this means for us is that, due to the activists’ mental and ethical deformity and the constant reinforcement of that deformity, they can rarely, if ever at all, be reasoned with. In some extreme cases, elder Black and Feminist demagogues being the most common example, you can’t even placate them because the war they have created in their minds is an end in itself and they couldn’t – not wouldn’t – recognize victory even if they achieved it.

Remember, since the truth is less than important to them than solidarity and orthodoxy in their cause, these activists and their core followers cannot be reasoned with. As such, there is no point or purpose in engaging with them. It is better and saner to either ignore them or silence them through denying them a venue and audience, through ridicule, or through applied targeted force in the most extreme cases.

Dan Savage is queer, a fanatical queer activist, and a bully of the worst and most cowardly sort – the sort that lacks all personal and physical courage and who hides behind the system and the various authorities while he’s bullying his chosen victims, Christians

We’re all familiar with his cowardly assault upon Rick Santorum and his attempts at extortion.

But Savage doesn’t limit his venomous behavior to grown men; he likes kids too. Most recently he attacked a group of high school students at National High School Journalism Conference sponsored by the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association.

Savage doesn’t seem to make any distinction between grown men and children. Makes one wonder how far that lack of distinction goes – and how young.

When a hundred or so of the students, fed up with Savage’s Christian-bashing attacks, exercised the only recourse they were indoctrinated to believe was open to them and left the auditorium, Savage decided to verbally assault them directly.

You can tell the Bible guys in the hall they can come back now because I’m done beating up the Bible,” Savage said as other students hollered and cheered. “It’s funny as someone who is on the receiving end of beatings that are justified by the Bible how pansy-assed people react when you push back.

It’s easy to believe this is odd behavior from a person supposedly against bullying but, sadly, his isn’t odd behavior at all. Liberals of all stripes, and queers in particular, are rabidly intolerant and prone to bullying those who hold differing opinions. They’re just not the normal, honest bullies who are willing to put themselves at risk to do their bullying.

It’s axiomatic that all bullies are cowards but Savage’s breed are more cowardly than the norm. If someone stands up to a normal sort of bully, the bully normally backs down. Savage’s sort, like all Liberals, will instead claim that they’re the victim and hide behind the various laws and authorities they’ve suborned and turned into shields for their behavior.

Dan Savage doesn’t have the basic courage to come up to normal American men, out of reach of immediate rescue, and spout his shit. He knows that we’d beat him beyond repair and might give him and his husband a reminder of exactly why they’re called faggots.
