The Revolution Will Not Be Tweeted
This pretty much sums it up. No cohesive force for change can come from #Hashtaggery or any other form of impersonal, social-media-centric communication platform. Revolutions need leaders to shape and manage the goals and methodologies of the movement and Twitter and other such platforms don’t provide that.
At most and best, all that #Hashtaggery can provide is a generalized awareness and emotional connection with a general ideal and near-instant communication of meeting places and times. At worst, it creates a climate of generalized outrage that capitalized upon by individuals and groups looking for more generalized chaos, e.g., ISIS’ recruiting of Muslims within America’s border.

Yes, Twitter is good. It’s popularity is well-deserved. What’s very much not good, however, is #hashtaggery, which for the purposes of this post I define as using twitter hashtags as some means of political or societal protest medium. This recent and growing phenomenon is not good. In fact, it is worse than useless.
Domestically, where it might be though to have some value, it devolves to people seeing or hearing of something they don’t like, such as specific crimes, and tweeting about it using a hashtag as an identifier. Sometimes this causes a trend and rises in popularity and visibility. Yet, at the end of the day, it doesn’t go beyond Twitter. Nothing comes of it, in part because people feel that they’ve done something about the problem.
#Hashtaggery At Home
You really want to #StandWithHer or be #United4Her? You want to #DoSomething? Get off your ass and do something real. Don’t stand with her, stand before her in full readiness to do whatever it takes to stop what is about to happen.
The only way your #hashtags are going to have any effect upon the real world is if you carve them into carcasses of the offenders that you’ve exterminated or left it at the remains of one of their nests that’ve burned down or blown up.
And foreign policy and relations? Please! Does anyone really believe that twitter bombing a foreign government or group of terrorists is going to do anything at all? Apparently so. The ability of people to descend into self-serving self-delusion seems to know no bounds.
#Hashtaggery Abroad
Carve #FreeOurGirls into the carcasses of Nigerian Muslim boys that have been exterminated in reprisal for Boko Haram’s action and you might get results. Burn your hashtag in the mutilated corpses of Sudanese Muslims and you might #FreeMeriamIbrahim. Cut into the bodies of Mexicans and you might help #FreeOurMarine.
Alternately, wave your hashtag as a banner when you storm and take the foreign nations’ consulates or embassies and put their personnel to death.
Anything else is just useless #Hashtaggery and serves only to make yourself feel good without actually having to or risk anything, especially your precious comforts.

Various Liberals and Progressives on Twitter regularly worked together to silence and remove Americans from that particular social network by flagging them as “spammers” and misusing Twitter’s fully automated spam blocking system to have those Americans’ accounts suspended. This led to the creation of the Twitter Gulag Defense Network (#TGDN) and that scares the runny, stinking shit out of the Liberals and Progressives.
Do Not Engage #TGDN Accounts!
Two things to always remember about Liberals and Progressives: they hate it when they can’t use numbers to bring down an inherently greater and better man or woman, and they go absolutely mad when their own preferred tactics are used against them.
It’s ironic that this Zach Green character, a Liberal, advocates segregation as the solution to a group he finds inimical to his own. I thought that they were against that. 😆
I’ll take the victory, lackluster as it is, though. If our domestic enemies refuse to engage, they cannot silence us and have effectively retired in defeat. They can rant and carp to each other to what passes for their hearts’ content and it’ll mean nothing as long as Americans continue to speak truth and patriotism wherever we choose to travel on the web.

You got to give Obama credit for fully embracing Social Media and giving his zombie cultists the illusion that they’re involved in his and his handlers’ regime in a manner more substantial than just livestock being harvested for votes and support. Their latest ploy using Twitter, #IlikeObamaCare is an example of this.
They got a pretty good response from their base too, some of which were cherry-picked to be on the boy’s campaign website since they showcased what Obama and his handlers want people to believe. That’s a stunning bit of campaigning, especially since essentially nobody – certainly not the Congress that voted for it – knows what all ObamaCare contains, demands, and entails.
But, given the Law of Unintended Consequences and the nature of any and all government interventions into the private sector, I’m thinking that, in the unlikely event that the SCOTUS doesn’t declare ObamaCare unconstitutional, the future will have and different “hashtag.”
#ILikeObamaCare Years Later
The ever delusionally hopeful Left and their minority tenants don’t wish to- and certainly refuse to hear it, but any program, public or private, predicated upon the antithetical premises of giving something to anyone and reducing overall costs, is doomed to reaching a negative result. In the case of healthcare or health insurance this necessarily means a reduction in the levels and quality of care, especially among young children, the aged, and those will chronic disabilities.
One need only look back at the great harm the early iterations of HMOs wreaked upon healthcare and health insurance to find solid evidence to support this idea. The harm those early HMOs wreaked was so great that this method of handling healthcare and health insurance isn’t even practiced anymore.
Of course, none of this will happen until long after Obama is no longer in office and probably not until after he and his family have fled the remains of the country, so he might actually get a chuckle reading the tweets with the #ILikedObamaCare hastag.
