Reflections From a Murky Pond

The Obama Regime and their Liberal sycophants want both the shutdown of large parts of the federal government to end and there to be no doubt about- or argument over once again raising the Federal Government’s debt ceiling because they care so much about the country and we, the People…or so they’ll claim whenever foolishly given the hand-out of an opportunity to do so.

This sounds good. It sounds exactly like what a POTUS should be thinking and saying during situations like these. It’s quite a shame that it’s just another of the boy’s incessant lies.

The truth of what the Obama and his coterie in the White care about has been revealed to be somewhat different than those oft-repeated claims.

On Oct. 4, a senior official in the Obama administration told The Wall Street Journal that the administration doesn’t care about how long the government remains shut down.

“We are winning,” the official said. “It doesn’t really matter to us” how long the shutdown lasts because what matters is the end result,” the source added.

And that is the truth of it. Neither Obama nor the Democrats in general care about Americans or the American people. All they care about is victory – not even in this standoff, but in the 2014 and 2016 elections – no matter what the costs to others might be.

It also explains why Obama won’t agree to any legislation that would keep Veterans Affairs and NIH open during the shutdown. And it explains why they shutdown open air memorials that actually cost more tax dollars to close than to keep open.

Tear Down This Wall, Boy!

Sadly for some number of Americans, the Obama Regime thinks that they’re winning by shutting down the government and blaming Republicans, and such callous gamesmanship is their sole criteria for caring about anything. Hence, they’re not likely to change course unless the People rise up and prove to them that they’re not, in fact, winning anything with their insensitivity towards- and despite for both the American people and their constituency, the latter of whom are far more dependent upon government largess.

I wonder if the boy and his Liberals have ever read of the Battle of Cannae and it’s detailing of the dangers of thinking you’re winning because you seem to be moving forward.

And yes, for those few of you who have studied history, I know that this is a somewhat ironic musing since Obama and his Liberals have sacrificed more babies to dark Gods than the Carthaginians ever did.

Know this and know it well the Obama Regime does not care for or about the American people at all. They even only care about their fellow-travelers and minority tenants on election day and act accordingly based upon this mindset. They care about victory and ruling our country for their ends and nothing else.

Of course, this is not in any way shock. Years ago the American people learned the hard way that Obama in his cabal: do not watch for our souls; do not believe that they must give account to either us or the God(s); and do not, in the case of 53% of us, care what is unprofitable for us? They broke their covenant immediately upon believing they had come to power.

We, the People must hold these uncaring, would-be tyrants accountable for their failures and malicious misdeeds. The only questions of merit are what forms and within what limits, if any at all, our reprisals should take.

They will be responsible for letting a condition develop in this country which will create a climate that will bring seeds up out of the ground with vegetation on the end of them looking like something their people never dreamed of. In 2013 and beyond it’s no longer time for the ballot; that season has past after bearing cancerous fruit.

Keep your eyes open. Travel light but load heavy, and always put another round in the enemy after they’re down. 😉 Remember also, if you love your children, you must know that their children are the enemy as well and must be exterminated.

America’s domestic enemies repeatedly screamed and ranted that, “Bush lied and People died” because the bulk of the data they heard from Iraq didn’t substantiate the intelligence reports that President Bush Jr. relied upon for decision making and which prompted America’s removal of Saddam Hussein.

Does any American believe for a moment that the Liberal and Progressive filth will similarly complain about Obama’s deadly lie? The boy repeated claimed, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan,” and that was a lie.

That was a lie to the tune of 7 million people in America who are expected to lose their employer-provided health insurance due to Obamacare.

The Congressional Budget Office now says that, because of Obamacare, 7 million people will lose their employer-provided health insurance and have to go get coverage on their own.

Now, since the Leftists have harped and whined that the loss of such coverage dooms people to antagonizing death, they should, if they held to any set of normative principles and logic, be screaming their lungs out that, “Obama lied and people died!” But they won’t because, not being what they’ve decided are racists, they hold Obama to a different and much lower standard of behavior and ability.

To be fair though, those 7 million people who are expected to lose their current health insurance are expected to join the Obamacare Exchanges – they have to by law, remember? – and, if by some miracle, those exchanges provide decent coverage that doctors, clinics, and hospitals who actually accept then they won’t be hurt too badly by Obamacare.

Of course the bulk of the 53% of Americans who actually have to pay for the federal government will be hurt as will all of our children who will be born and raised in ever-increasing federal debt. The average federal subsidy for exchange participants is expected to be $5,510 per individual in 2014 and raised to $8,290 per individual by 2023. Six million people are expected to receive such hand outs in 2014 and that number is expected to rise to 22 million by 2023.

Our Costs For Obamacare Exchange Subsidies

In 2014 7 million people are predicted to enter the exchanges, 6 million (85.7%) of them receiving federal subsidies in order to afford doing so. By 2023 that number is expected to increase to 25 million with 21 million (84%) of them receiving subsidies.

• 2014 AD – 6 million subsidies x $5,510 average subsidy amount = $33.06 billion USD
• 2023 AD – 21 million subsidies x $8,290 average subsidy amount = $174.09 billion USD

Whether or not this ends up being a waste of money will be dependent upon whether or not these health insurance exchanges created by Obamacare actual work and provide decent and widely accepted coverage for those forced to use them. Given the histories of the insurance industry, the various state governments, the federal government, and the interaction between these three entities I find that to be hoped for but highly unlikely outcome.

Medicaid and CHIP

Another potentially – probably would be closer – bit of Obama’s misinformation is his silence on the fact that what increase in health insurance coverage Obamacare will provide is heavily predicated on increases in the number of people enrolled in Medicaid and/or CHIP.

• 2014 AD – 8 million people added to Medicaid and/or CHIP
• 2023 AD – 12 million people added to Medicaid and/or CHIP

Between the fact that the several states have more control over these programs than the federal government and have already indicated that they, not being able to live on deficit spending, can’t afford and won’t comply with the Obamacare Medicaid mandates, this does not bode well for those people reduced to using these programs.

So President Bush Jr. supposedly lied in order to attack Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq and over the 10 year-long course of the resulting war and subsequent stabilizing and rebuilding of Iraq 4654 members of the coalition forces died, 4486 of whom were American. Anyone care to wager by how many orders of magnitude Obama’s lies’ death toll among Americans will exceed President Bush Jr.?

But don’t ever expect our domestic enemies to ever scream, “Obama lied, people died!” no matter how many tanker trucks of American blood end up on the boy’s hands.

It is not amazing that politicians come up with exactly the wrong answers to any singular problem or issue. What is amazing is that they seem to always come up with exactly the wrong answers to each and every problem or issue.

Blood Alcohol Limit To Be Raised To Curb Drunk Driving

The editorial cartoon depicted above sums this up perfectly. Raising the federal government’s debt ceiling is no closer to being the correct answer to their spending issues than raising the legal limit for blood alcohol is for reducing incidents of drunk driving.

Be assured though that the debt ceiling will be raised once again – and again, and again, and again until our creditors finally cut us off – because both the waning “mainstream” Republicans and all the Democrats will do anything in their power to make sure Wimpy doesn’t starve.

The late and lamented Ronald Reagan said we had to starve the beast. The problem is that these beasts are like cockroaches and won’t starve until Americans cut their heads off. Even then it might take a while.

Truth is stranger and more disgusting than fiction could ever be, at least professionally published fiction where publishers and editors exhibit some control over the quality of content. The fictional character Steve Austin was the Six Million Dollar Man is far less strange and disgusting than factual characterature Obama, The $16 Trillion Child.

Obama – The $16 Trillion Child

Never in the history of America have so many owed so much because of so few. Worse! That $16 Trillion dollars of national debt is only what Obama and his cabal of spending addicts were allowed to get away with; they wanted, and still want, trillions and trillions dollars more of Americans’ hard-earned wealth.

For The Record

Prior to the misborn, narcissistic, child-in-long-pants that America has been saddle with, his predecessor President Bush Jr. held the record for increasing America’s national debt; a responsible spender the pampered “Dubya” was not and it showed. He successfully used his bully pulpit to add approximately $4.9 trillion to our nations debt over the eight years, two major economic collapses, and two wars of his Presidency.

Obama, however, used a combination of his bully pulpit and a hands-off, lead from behind “leadership” style to outpace President Bush Jr.’s total spending before his first term was ended, with far less excuse and to far, far, far less results.

This is one of the clearest explanations I’ve read regarding the debt crisis and the credit bottleneck that is stifling the America’s economy and recovery from the “Great Recession.” Humor is often the best tool for teaching those who find it difficult to learn or who are being taught lessons that they’d rather not learn.

Debt Crisis For Dummies

Helga is the proprietor of a bar. She realizes that virtually all of her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar. To solve this problem she comes up with a new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now , but pay later.

Helga keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers’ loans).

Word gets around about Helga’s “drink now, pay later” marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Helga’s bar. Soon she has the largest sales volume for any bar in town.

By providing her customers freedom from immediate payment demands Helga gets no resistance when, at regular intervals, she substantially increases her prices for wine and beer – the most consumed beverages.

Consequently, Helga’s gross sales volumes and paper profits increase massively. A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets and increases Helga’s borrowing limit. He sees no reason for any undue concern, since he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral.

He is rewarded with a six figure bonus.

At the bank’s corporate headquarters, expert traders figure a way to make huge commissions, and transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS. These “securities” are then bundled and traded on international securities markets.

Naive investors don’t really understand that the securities being sold to them as “AA Secured Bonds” are really debts of unemployed alcoholics. Nevertheless, the bond prices continuously climb and the securities soon become the hottest-selling items for some of the nation’s leading brokerage houses

The traders all receive a six figure bonus.

One day, even though the bond prices are still climbing, a risk manager at the original local bank decides that the time has come to demand payment on the debts incurred by the drinkers at Helga’s bar. He so informs Helga. Helga then demands payment from her alcoholic patrons but, being unemployed alcoholics, they cannot pay back their drinking debts. Since Helga cannot fulfill her loan obligations she is forced into bankruptcy. The bar closes and Helga’s 11 employees lose their jobs.

Overnight, DRINKBOND prices drop by 90%. The collapsed bond asset value destroys the bank’s liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans, thus freezing credit and economic activity in the community.

The suppliers of Helga’s bar had granted her generous payment extensions and had invested their firms’ pension funds in the BOND securities. They find they are now faced with having to write off her bad debt and with losing over 90% of the presumed value of the bonds. Her wine supplier also claims bankruptcy, closing the doors on a family business that had endured for three generations; her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 150 workers.

Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multi-billion dollar no-strings attached cash infusion from the government.

They all receive six a figure bonus.

The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, non-drinkers who’ve never been in Helga’s bar.

Now do you understand the recurring debt crises, even a little?

Bankers, stock traders, and similar financiers make their money from money or enabling and controlling access to money. If you either encourage or force them to provide money to subprime borrowers they will find ways of mitigating their risks and to actually capitalize upon this poor behavior. This is what they’re trained to do.

And, when not if, the system collapses, the government bailing the bankers, stock traders, and similar financiers out just places a higher burden upon those people who were never party to the failure in the first place, often forcing them into becoming yet more subprime borrowers.

And so the entropic cycle repeats itself.
