Goodnight Iran

Posted in Politics on December 3rd, 2011

In a move that further isolates the Ayatollah Khamenie’s mob of miscegentic crotch-droppings of pigs and baboons from the Civilized World, Brittain has closed it embassy in Iran in response to the Ayatollahs’ Basij-e Mostaz’afin’s sacking of that embassy. Other European nations plan to follow suit.

It’s more than a little heartening to see that England and the European powers have finally learned that there’s nothing for humans to gain by trying to talk to the vermin in Iran. It seemed that they were never going to learn that discourse with these creatures is pointless, merely casting pearls before swine and inflating the Iranians’ delusion of worth.

Goodnight, Iran. Pray Mankind decides to suffer your awakening in some future morning.

Fallen Woman

Posted in Art, Society on August 20th, 2011

Art, when well done, is always evocative. It’s also very subjective and personal, drawing meaning and emotion from the beholder as well as the artist and, especially in the case of artist photography, the subject.

Take, by way of example, the photos below. To me they portray a beautified and romanticized vignette of the “fallen women” of 19th century London, especially those of the White Chapel district. Ethereal beauty, hope, despair, elegant style, an odd Catholicism to the fashion, and a certain tawdry sexuality combine and create a frisson that is, to me at least, very compelling.

Others would likely see the photos completely differently and within completely different contexts, but very few, I think, would see them merely as part of the fashion shoot which was their commercial purpose.

The above are photos taken of Anne Hathaway taken in London by Marcus Piggott and Mert Alas as part of a piece by Chelsea Handler of Interview Magazine. They also preview the upcoming issue of the magazine since Anne Hathaway will be on the cover of the magazine’s magazine’s September 2011 issue.

Promoting Tolerance

Posted in Humor, Religion, Society on August 13th, 2011

Rage Boy - A Devout Pakistani Muslim Behaving The Only Way It Knows HowThe Liberals and other apologists for Islam and Muslims love to rant, rave, and caterwaul about the need for the peoples of the Civilized World to show tolerance for Islam and Muslims within our nations. Any indication that the citizenry of these nations are not overtly welcoming to Muslims is met with virulent hatred and scorn by these Liberals and with cries of Islamaphobia, racism, and bigotry.

While biased – they only demand tolerance to be shown towards culturally non-normative religions – the Liberals’ attitude and demands are not completely without merit. Tolerance is a virtue and a certain level of it in necessary to the function of any nation.

Hence, I will repost here the words of an associate of mine who also feels the need for tolerance:

I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against the building of new mosques in America and the UK.

I think it should be the goal of every American and British resident to be tolerant.

Thus these Mosques should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to each of the mosques, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque.

We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, “The Turban Cowboy “, and the other a topless bar called “You Mecca Me Hot.”

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbeque pork restaurant, called “Iraq o’ Ribs.”

Across the street there could be a lingerie store called “Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret” with sexy mannequins in the window modelling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, “Koranal Knowledge”, its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called “Morehammered.”

All of this would encourage the Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so the mosque problem would be solved.

Tolerance is a gift and, like all gifts, is best when shared. Additionally, tolerance often begets tolerance and the Muslims within the Civilized World do have something to prove

Really, I think we let them build their mosques, largely wherever they like, and give them a chance to show that they’re as committed to tolerance as the Liberals demand that people be. ;-)
