Still Looking Good

After all these many, many years David and Nichelle are still looking good
David And Nichelle Are Still Looking Good

Time passes and with it pass those who were dear to each of us, so it’s good to see that some old associates are still looking good. Better in its own odd way, though David, Nichelle, and I haven’t had any interactions for close to 30 year, my wives now work closely with them on a regular basis and they’re all friends.

OMG! Grampa!

Taking a loved one to the hospital is never fun. When that loved one is elderly it’s even more painful because the prognosis is less often good.

An elderly man had a massive heart attack and the family drove him to the emergency room. After a while the ER doctor appeared wearing a long face.

“I’m afraid Grandpa is “brain-dead”, but his heart is still beating.”

“Oh, Dear God,” cried his wife, “We’ve never had a liberal in the family before!”

Sometimes the doctors have no choice to give the family the worst of news and pray that they can bear the horror and pain.

Best Served Old

When one gets to be my age, if one has friends who are older than you, it’s not unlikely that they’re retired. This can be interesting because their lifestyles are so different from those of us still in the workforce.

I once asked an older, retired friend of mine how he kept busy since his days were free. His reply was hilarious.

The other day my wife, Mary and I went into town and visited a shop. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

We went up to him and I said, “Come on, man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?”

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.

So I called him an “asshole”.

He glared at me and started writing another ticket; this one for having worn-out tires.

So Mary called him a “shithead”.

He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing more tickets. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it and went home.

We try to have a little fun each day now that we’re retired and we always try to pick cars with OBAMA 2012 bumper stickers because stupid should be painful and revenge is a dish best served old.

Seems like an enjoyable enterprise and one that has a certain use in punishing those who can’t or won’t think of what’s best for the nation whose borders they’re allowed to reside within.

Always remember that old age and experience will almost always beat youth and skill and that, in those occasions when it doesn’t, the aged have had many years to refine and perfect their sense of vengeance. 😉
