Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of government. The history of liberty is the history of resistance. The history of liberty is a history of the limitation of governmental power, not the increase of it.

Not all cultures were created equal and, most certainly, not all cultures grew to equality of merit after their birth. Sadly, it also true that not all cultures are provided with equal protections.
This Is Not Who I Am And It’s Not OK
This past Halloween, like all Halloweens in recent memory, we were assaulted by Liberal, Progressive, and minority complaints about any and all costumes based upon their ancestral cultures or which lampooned their more modern cultural proclivities. It’s a yearly tirade from the Left that we’re forced to endure.
Of course, you’ll never see or hear a complaint about costumes based upon any White culture. Members or descendents of such European groups are not granted equal protection because…racism! Indeed, one of the first things that will run through the minds of any Liberal or Minority grievance-monger that reads this is that it wrong, wrong, wrong, to equate the same action committed for the same motive when the victim is White as opposed to otherwise.

“Stick Family” stickers are as varied and as annoying as the plethora of “My child is a…” bumper stickers which celebrate mediocrity by pandering to the less-than-special people’s need to be accorded some measure of being special. And, again similarly to the “My child is a…” bumper stickers, the parodies of the “Stick Family” meme are normally better than the meme itself.
Ghetto Stick Family
This “Stick Family” sticker set is the perfect example of such a parody of the “family” of a core Democrat constituent. The only “issue” is that the sticker is, statistically speaking, the wrong color.
Of course, this sticker was doomed to be declared offensive a racist by those whose agenda requires such claims. If it was more accurate by using “Brown” figures, it’d be racist. Yet, it’s use of white stick figures to represent the ghetto baby mama with her horde of bastards and multiple imprisoned baby daddies “Stick Family” is equally racist due to Cultural Appropriation. 😛

Queers, bisexuals, obese people, and some others have started describing themselves as the New Black due to their belief that their “civil rights” are being restricted.
Soon I imagine that the ephebophiles and polygamous people will join in calling themselves as the New Black while loudly bemoaning the supposed infringement upon their “civil rights.”
And oh how the Blacks hate it with a consuming and festering passion!
This, of course, makes perfect sense. It’s a direct attack upon Black identity. As Black Identity is based almost solely upon being the victims of oppression they’re loath to give up their unique victim status to any other group, none of which, in their minds, have or can ever experience the same perceived level of harm and oppression.
Essentially, the “Black Community” views any claims of “civil rights” violations by anyone other than a Black as an example of the most egregious form of cultural appropriation.
In some ways it’s ironic that the Blacks rant against others who they might be better served by joining with against the White, heterosexual American norm. While ironic though, it’s to be expected since the “Black Community” is deliberately exilic in nature and rejects commonality with anyone else.

The Northampton, MA based band Shokazoba has been playing Afrobeat – a blend of Jazz and Funk with a West African undertone – music for the last seven years. They’ve won the Valley Advocate’s award for Best World Music in 2007, 2010, 2011, and 2012, their Best Funk award in 2008, and Best Jazz in the My411 Source poll in 2009. They’ve even were recognized as “Artists of the Year” for the Big Bands category by the African Jazz review in 2011. In other words, they’re a very competent set of musicians who’ve earned the accolades within their genre of music.
It’s no real surprise that that Amherst, MA’s Hampshire College hired them to perform during the college’s Hampshire Halloween event on Friday, October 25, 2013. The surprise came later…
Shokazoba – Too White To Play Afrobeat
Apparently Shokazoba is just too White to be allowed to play Afrobeat music at Hampshire College. The college’s HYPE Committee, responsible for coordinating these school events, cancelled Shokazoba’s performance because nominally White musicians playing “Black Music” offended some members of the student body of the elite, liberal arts college.
Due to concerned students voicing their opinions about the band Shokazoba, we held community dialogue to hear what individuals had to say. As a result of the dialogue, and discomfort expressed by members of the community in person as well as by email, Facebook, and other means, we have removed Shokazoba from the lineup for Hampshire Halloween.
One can blame Hampshire College’s HYPE Committee only for cowardice in caving into the small-mindedness, racism, and oikophobia of the young Liberals and Progressives who so vociferously vented their outrage at a White band playing music that they think should be totally reserved for Blacks. In within that limitation one to consider whether or not the battle should be waged, given that it could easy, and probably would, corrupt and suborn the whole intent of the festival, which was to have fun.
One should also keep in mind that, while Shokazoba was forbidden from performing, they were paid in full. They had, ironically as it turned out, a performance contract with the Hype Committee that stated it would not discriminate on the basis of: race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, physical ability, or sexual orientation.
The racists within Hampshire College’s student body, on the other hand can be blamed for their pro-segregation ideology and, at a bare minimum, should be castigated and pilloried for it since they effectively violated the civil rights of the band members of Shokazoba. And let’s remember that these ethno-guiltism-ridden, oikophobic bigots are, for the most part, White, and have less business appropriating Black racial angst than any White does playing “Black Music.”
I bet this piece from 1976 would cause their heads to explodes:
Wild Cherry – Play That Funky Music
No matter how these Leftist neo-hippies couch their opinions in politically correct rhetoric and hand-wringing “worry” about the fears and feelings of “marginalized peoples,” what they’re yelling loud and clear is, “Blacks Only, Crackers!”
