Extra Day Of Black History

An Extra Day Of Black History

As it’s a Leap Year, here’s an extra day of Black History for you. After all, as most of us know, if Blacks aren’t over-represented in something other than crime and incarceration, they’re “under-represented.” 😉

But, all sarcasm aside, Black women in America have a history of beauty and desirability that stretches all the way to the very beginnings of the American colonies. It wasn’t until the mid-1600s – two generations after the founding of Jamestown – that this was decided to be a “problem.” Before then, sex and intermarriage between Whites and Blacks was accepted if not societally approved of. Indeed, before then, the child of a White man and a Black slave was even born free; centuries-old English law conferring the condition (status) of the father upon his children.

Another Better Black Friday

Another Better Black Friday

Well, it’s another Black Friday. Hence, once again I’m going to advise you to avoid the yearly insanity and mob violence of this manufactured shopping paroxysm – especially in these times. Better by far in my opinion to stay home and enjoy this Black Friday. Do it right, and you can even give them something to be thankful for next year. 😉

Another Juneteenth

And Another Juneteenth

Well, it’s another Juneteenth – the second one as a federally mandated holiday. It’s also the second federally mandated holiday specifically for a singular race and, like Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it’s for- and about the Blacks within our nation’s borders.

Ah well. While I’m disgusted by a race-based – even more a second one – federal holiday since this violates the whole spirit of America, Juneteenth does give me a great, if not really needed, excuse to present some beautiful Black babes for our enjoyment. And… who’s really going to complain o’ermuch about a day off from work with pay?

Ending Black History Month

Ending Black History Month Right

It’s the last day of Black History Month, which I almost forgot about due to repeated attacks of life. 🙄 So, somewhat as reparations and somewhat as just wanting to encourage certain sorts of diversity, here’s 90 fine Black babes to end Black History Month right.

Oh, and Gentlemen, if you really want to end Black History Month, I strongly suggest being fully inclusive in your life so that we have one, integrated history, that of Americans of a myriad of ethnic backgrounds. Think of it as an affirmative action towards equity and making MLK’s dream come true.

My First Juneteenth

My First Juneteenth As An Actual Holiday

This is not my first awareness of the Juneteenth “holiday.” Nor is it the first time I’ve raised a drink for it. With one of my wives being Black, I’ve been aware of the date and what significance it’s been held to have for well over 20 years. This is, however my first Juneteenth when it was an actually federally recognized and generally observed holiday. I’m even getting a day of with pay because of it!

Hence, I’m spreading the celebration of this day with a plethora of examples of why there was a serious and pervasive upside to the South losing their bid for independence and the Blacks being given their freedom and personhood.
