Get Off My Net!

Get Off My Net!
Get Off My Net!

Yep, them youngins whine about anything and everything, never understanding the pain we went through or appreciating the gifts we made and handed over their ungrateful asses. 😉

Yeah, that’s right! Back in my day even this image was decades away from being possible. We used 150 baud acoustic coupler modems with cradles for the headsets of our rotary phones. These days, they’ll never know the pain and, hence, will never appreciate anything.

A Democrat Once Said…

I know it’s hard to believe, but a Democrat – a quite progressive one for the time – once said this:

At the heart of that Western freedom and democracy is the belief that the individual man, the child of God, is the touchstone of value, and all society, groups, the state, exist for his benefit. Therefore the enlargement of liberty for individual human beings must be the supreme goal and the abiding practice of any Western society.

— Robert F. Kennedy

Yes, Robert Kennedy said this during his 1966 address to the students and faculty of he University of Capetown, South Africa. Of course, this was just a few weeks shy of 50 years ago and in the intervening decades the Democrats and their Liberal and Progressive adherents have degenerated to the point where the very mention of God or religion – except to deny the former and lambast the latter – is anathema to them.

No, no longer could or would a Democrat describe Man as the child of God.

So too during the Left’s fall from vestiges of Americanism it once had, did they decide to revile most forms of mention of the enlargement of liberty for individual human beings, demanding instead a collective ethical consciousness that places non-sexual individual liberty subservient to both the State and the collective.

The Future is Now

Our parents and grandparents lived in more optimistic times than we do today. They saw the future as bright with possibilities and filled with the benefits of our rapidly advancing technology.

The Astounding World of the Future

The future is now. OK, actually it’s last week sometime because we’ve “come farther” than what is shown in this video. In any event, feel free to quietly weep because those bright-eyed visionaries of the early-to-mid 20th century were so very right in their predictions and so very wrong about how we would make them come true.

That Is Final!

There’s jabbering from the Left, especially from those intelligentsia who’ve learned so many of the wrong things in the course of their (mis)education and indoctrination, that America should abandon the Constitution.

What Americans have to realize is that this is nothing new. Liberals and Progressives have felt constrain by- and loathed the nigh on holy writ of America’s highest legal document since almost before the ink on it was dry.

President Calvin Coolidge even had to deal with it in the early part of the 20th century. Others had to deal with before him.

About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary.

— President Calvin Coolidge
“The Inspiration of the Declaration,” July 5, 1926

Liberals and Progressives don’t, have never, and will never gracefully accept that the words and core principles of the US Constitution are carved in stone, metaphorically much as the Ten Commandment delivered to Moses by Yahweh were so. They would have to give up all hope for their agenda, which is predicated upon an authoritarian government that the Constitution expressly forbids, were they to do so.

Also, despite or because of the nature of their educations, they forget or never understood that, if one relegated America’s Constitution to history, that is final and it is total. Both those portions that they loath and those they tolerate, possibly prefer, and definitely rely upon will be lost.

They seem to forget that there are others, quite different from the Liberals and Progressives, who also believe that the Constitution needs to be remanded or rewritten, though not in ways that the Left would, with a few exceptions, like.

It’s Basic Physics

It’s basic physics that the law of entropy requires that chaos and dissolution be the natural result of all uncontrolled processes. Most people have some understanding of that fact. What they don’t seem to understand is that the natural laws which govern physics have direct corollaries in almost all other things and systems. That includes entropy.

Change more often equates entropy than it does progress
Change More Often Equates Entropy Than It Does Progress

So when you see or hear people chanting about “change,” “progress,” or “moving forward” into a bright new age, remember that these people are most likely, knowingly or unwittingly, the agents of chaos, dissolution, and destruction. They serve entropy’s purposes, not those of people.
