We must respect the other fellow’s religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart.

This perfectly sums up both the Democrats’ shutdown of much of the federal government and, specifically, all parts of the government tasked with securing ingress to our nation, and Schumer’s rhetoric surrounding it.
Sadly for Schumer and the rest of the Dems, we Americans don’t make a habit of negotiating with terrorists. He and his sort might also want to remember what we do have a habit of doing to them. 😉

Yep! Ole’ Ebenezer Schumer had some pointed humbugs about President Trump’s optimistic and reality-based praise of America’s improving economy. But, this means little and is to be fully expected. Nothing maddens a Democrat more than America recovering and doing better. It completely undermines their political platform and harms their ability to keep their jobs… and access to inside info on the stock market.

The daily, sometimes multiple, reports per day, by the media on the ongoing shutdown of large parts of the federal government, are largely immaterial. The Democrats will not allow the government shutdown to end until one of two things happens – Republicans completely cave in and allow the Dems to make policy through appropriations, thereby reversing legislation made through proper channels; or, October 20th passes. At the earliest, the vote to pass a CR to fund and reopen the government will happen quite late at night on the 20th, but could be postponed to as late as Oct. 24. So, everyone’s probably got 6 – 10 days of this bullshit left.
You see, there’s a big “No Kings” mostly peaceful protest scheduled at the Capitol on October 18th. There’s no way in Hell that the Dems will allow the government to reopen before that’s over. They are well aware of the proclivities of their constituents. The last thing they want to suffer is a new iteration of January 6th, this time by forces that actually embrace violence, especially political violence. In fact, I’m betting most Dem politicians won’t even be at work on that Friday, and could really blame them?
You have to remember that the whole reason for this government shutdown is that these Democrat politicians, especially Schumer of Jeffries, are scared shitless of their constituencies, fully half of which are far-far-far-left sorts. With a bunch of their more radical sorts going to be local on the 18th, the Dems won’t dare end their farce before that’s over.
So, the earliest the federal government will reopen is the 20th, thanks to the Party of Domestic Terrorism.

I’d feel sorry for Sen Chuck Schumer (D-NY) if he hadn’t brought this whole thing down upon his own head. The crybaby tried to play hardball and “stand up to Trump” – even though his self-appointed enemies in this case are Republican Senators and Congressmen – by shutting down large swaths of the federal government unless Republican Senators and President Trump capitulated to the Dems’ irrational demands. And now, the poor fool is finding out just how unpopular his actions were and are… among those who actually even care about it at all.
Even Almost Half Of Democrats Are Against This Shutdown
But then, this is what happens when a politician is only concerned with keeping their job instead of properly doing their job. Crying Chuck is terrified of being primaried and ousted by the further-left elements in his party, a “risk” that is exacerbated by Schumer being from NY, one of the areas where that sort is concentrated. He’s terrified that AOC – who will neither confirm nor deny that she was his Senate seat – will win in a primary election against him unless he does what her wing of their party demands.

Senate Dems Got Filibusted – And It Was Friendly Fire
Boom? No Boom! The Senate Dems led by Schumer – may he drown in pigs’ blood – actually took that fateful step towards armageddon and tried to effectively, if not technically, end the filibuster. But they got “filibusted,” and it was friendly fire since their attempt to destroy the functionality of the Senate was blocked by two of their own, Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), who chose not to cross that rubicon.
