Reflections From a Murky Pond

Obama’s response Judge Andrew S. Hanen, of the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas, ruling in favor of Texas and the 25 other states that had the temerity to challenge Obama’s unilateral immigration “reform” actions is classic Obama attitude – petulant and arrogant.

Despite the federal court’s injunction against carrying out Obama’s unilateral immigration policy changes, Obama has made it clear to all ICE and Border Patrol employees that they must carryout his wishes or face “consequences.”

Until we pass a law through Congress, the executive actions we’ve taken are not going to be permanent; they are temporary. There are going to be some jurisdictions and there may be individual ICE official or Border Control agent not paying attention to our new directives. But they’re going to be answerable to the head of Homeland Security because he’s been very clear about what our priorities will be.

It’s part of the law of Obama’s jungle – violate or be violated.

That’s the way it seems to be within the Obama Regime. You do what Obama demands, even if it’s in violation of court order, or you will be violated yourself.

And, of course, America’s domestic enemies are all for this sort of thing.

So the Scofflaw-in-Chief is going to commandeer the American airwaves tonight and jabber about how, through executive overreach, he’s going to countermand and overthrow the laws duly enacted by Congress by granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

NOTE: Obama’s handlers and overseers, along with many of his remaining followers, object to the word “Amnesty” but not to the meaning of his acts in this matter.

What Obama’s executive amnesty really means is:

• The boy will once again prove himself a liar by not drawing a distinction between conscious and inadvertent violators of America’s immigration laws as he repeatedly claimed we must do.
• He’ll  cause yet another surge of illegals from Central and South American countries, just as his previous suspension of enforcement action against the so-called Dreamers in June of 2012 did.
• The boy’s reported plan would legalize as permanent U.S. residents many tens of thousands of illegal alien criminals – ones that are criminal far beyond merely being violators of immigration law. Like his previous actions, Obama’s amnesty would include: murderers, rapists, kidnappers, and a host of other criminals whose offenses the Obama Regime doesn’t consider “serious.”
• His actions, if allowed to stand, will cost the American taxpayers tens, if not hundreds, of billions of dollars a year since most the recipients of the boy’s amnesty will be uneducated, unskilled, poverty-stricken individuals who will instantly qualify for any and all means-tested social programs on the books.

Thankfully but not unexpectedly, Congress – with the stereotypical exception of the lame-duck democrats in the Senate – are not taking Obama’s attempt at gross executive overreach and infringement of the constitutionally mandated Separation of Powers lying down. They are already moving to defund those parts of the federal bureaucracy which would be needed to implement Obama’s planned executive amnesty.

This is, in my opinion, a moderately good response but it is difficult to fully realize and contains more form than function due to the bureaucracies in question having a backlog of various supplies and means to implement, in the near-term at least, Obama’s atrocity. I believe that America would be better served if Congress thought less about “No Executive Amnesty” and much more about “No Amnesty For The Executive.”

Instead of merely defunding those portions of the ICE that would allow Obama to legalize these illegal aliens, Congress should also defund all portions of the US Secret Service that do not direct pertain to safeguarding the payment and financial systems of the United States.

Let we, the People, who are the true law of- and keepers of justice in the land, decide whether or not to extend amnesty to Obama. 😉

“Climate professor” Chris Turney assembled a tax-payer funded Global Warming propaganda junket to the Antarctic which ended up evidencing the massive expansion of Antarctic ice in the most ironic and visceral manner as their ship become stuck in the polar ice followed by the Chinese icebreaker sent to rescue them also becoming entrapped in the same ice.

I suppose fortunately, both the global warming expedition vessel and the Chinese rescue ship trapped in Antarctica have exploited cracks in the ice to break free and steam toward safety.

Don’t expect any in-depth analysis of this and its meaning from the Lamestream Media though. They’ve been studiously avoiding mentioning that Turney’s expedition was a Global Warming propaganda trip, which set out to prove climate change, ended up trapped in the very ice that they sought to prove had melted. This is because they know that it is no wiser to antagonize the Warmists than it is to antagonize the Islamists.

A recent report that uncovered pernicious and gross malfeasance on the part of senior members of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been revealed and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) wants some answers. Specifically he wants answers to why a ICE agent was threatened with suspension for arresting an illegal alien.

The unidentified agent could face a three-day suspension after he arrested a 35-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico who had as many as 10 traffic violations.

The agent was ordered by supervisors to release the individual because he was not a “priority target.” When the officer balked, he was threatened with a three-day suspension and the illegal alien was let go.

Of course, given who’s ultimately in charge of the ICE, it’s not too surprising that senior members of that unit would either desire or feel compelled to to effectively say, “Don’t do your job!” to the officers in the field who are trying to be effective with little or no support.

Warning – Undocumented Democrats

The ICE is a normal, top-down authoritarian law enforcement body and, as such, when it stinks it stinks from the head down, And, in this case, it reeks like a crate of badly salted bacalao on a hot summer day.

This is what happens when Democrats are foolishly allowed to be involved in such matters. They count on the votes and donations from the poor, the unwashed, the criminal, and the non-White. They’re never going to make border security a priority and will always look for an excuse to allow illegals to stay in our country.

Sadly, Sen. Sessions’ inquiry will go nowhere until such time as Americans retake the Senate. Only then can we have some hope that reprisals will be taken against all those who were part of this evil.
