Sarah Outs Herself
Sarah “Harvard” – not her real surname, instead one her sire changed it to after the Muslim attacks of 9/11 – is a Muslim who was born within America’s borders. From the age of eight she largely hid this fact. Finally, either out of self-loathing as she claims or because it became profitable for her, she came out of the closet.
She decided to write an article for Salon about it.
In “Confessions of a secret Muslim,” Sarah spends most of her time ranting about the supposed bigotry and “Islamophobia” of Americans after the heinous attacks by her coreligionists.
Right near the end of her screed, when she’s describing her friends reactions to her finally coming clean about being Muslim is where Sarah really outs herself and Islam though.
One raised his eyebrows in a way that expressed his silent disapproval. Another said, “It’s OK. You assimilate, so you’re a cool Muslim,†as if the millions of other Muslims in the world aren’t “cool,†because they choose to remain faithful to their religion.
Finally, after 12 years of incessant lying, Sarah spoke the truth. Muslims cannot be a true part of Western, most especially American, society and culture while still being faithful to Islam. She unknowingly put the lie to the idea of the American Muslim in any context other than legalistic.
Simply put, America and Islam cannot coexist except through the same sort of segregation and isolation as the ultra-orthodox and Hasidic Jewish communities chose to employ within our borders.

Exactly.

Depotation time!

I can both understand and agree with the sentiment but she was born within our borders and, hence, can’t be deported. As I said in the article, they are American citizens in a legalistic sense.
That, of course, doesn’t mean we have to like or associate with them. It certainly doesn’t mean we have to pander to them or grant them any privileges at all though.

Im sure there are lots of religionists in your country that most would like to punt out and they are not all Islamists. Unfortunately they are citizens also. Well, in some cases, as in Fred Phelps, nature takes its course.

That depends upon your definition of “lots.” Overall, there’s few except for the Muslims that most Americans would wish to be rid of. Indeed, if there’s any group other than the Muslims that the majority of Americans would want to remove from our country it would be the Atheists, not any variety of the faithful.

Depends on what americans youre talking about. I know quite a few that would have no problem punting the vast majority of Evangelicals. 🙂

A small minority feel that way. Of course, most of them are the very Atheists that the majority of Americans would just as soon purge from the country, T4T.
But, as is your usual wont, you’re just trying to draw an equivalency that just isn’t there so there’s no point in further discourse with you on this topic.

I find Sarah to be a rather pathetic and dishonest poser. She holds up her “faith” with an arrogance and ignorance to what her true lot under true faith would be like anywhere.
I look forward to Sarah pushing profits as she obeys the prophet in her burhka. Or perhaps some locale where she is forced to forsake her education and be put to work making babies. Will she be driving when she goes Haj? The answer is no bitch you won’t ‘cuz its illegal.
Sarah Harvard is a fraud.

Yes, Alfie; she’s pathetic and likely a fraud. She may, though, be lying to herself as much as the public since she sounds like just another victim of “Angry Muslim Syndrome.” Much like the Blacks with Angry Negro Syndrome, she may actually believe what’s she’s spouting – at least with her conscious mind.
What I found most interesting, however, was her inadvertent admission of what most of us having been saying for long time – that Islam and America can’t mix.
