If you are taught bitterness and anger, then you will believe you are a victim. You will feel aggrieved and the twin brother of aggrievement is entitlement. So now you think you are owed something and you don’t have to work for it and now you’re on a really bad road to nowhere because there are people who will play to that sense of victimhood, aggrievement and entitlement, and you still won’t have a job.
Life Is Short? Bullshit! Life Is Long
For most of us this is so very true. Life is not short and we will live to reap the whirlwind if we foolishly sow the wind.

It’s a matter of balance. I don’t think 50 years ahead but I don’t live like there’s no tomorrow either. The problem with conscientious and disciplined people is that they plan and plan and never seem to do anything else.
But generally speaking I agree. We live in a culture of instant gratification, and that is historically a clear sign of decline.

Most thing are a matter of balance, Paradigm, though not all who are conscientious and disciplined fail to act. I do, however, admit that many of them can’t adapt to changing situations as well.
It’s also not just instant gratification. There’s a fatalistic and quasi-nihilistic component to the whole thing as well.
