Frankly Ironic
On May 13th, 2014, Redditor unserplatz submitted an image macro titled “Feminist Frank about women in skimpy clothes†to the radical Feminist TrollXChromosomes subreddit, which urged men to treat women who dress “provocatively†with respect.
The Original Feminist Frank
Feminist Frank was an instant hit with the Feministas and the next day Redditor donut_think_so posted an Imgur gallery of Feminist Frank image macros which gathered more than 2,600 upvotes and 130 comments in five days. In the next week, several “women’s interest” and Internet humor sites swooned over them and highlighted notable examples from the series.
And so an internet meme was born, even if it did fail to thrive.
Pardon the pun – or don’t – but I find this meme frankly ironic. 😉 Oh not the irony of the stereotypical college “playa” fratboy they used. That was deliberate and well-done irony to make a point. No, I’m talking about the catchphrases that they chose to use.
Just about every one those phrases was misborn in the “Black Community.” Given the near 100% overlap between modern Feminists and Liberals and/or Progressives, I find it very ironic that they used sexist and misogynist slang from their most precious protected cultural group. It’s also a bit ironic that they paired them with such a White person’s image, given that they proclaim to hate cultural appropriation.

Except in this case, this one looks so pathetic, his victims would no doubt overpower him!
