Obama’s Job Creation

President Obama’s and his Liberals’ Porkulus, commonly referred to as The Stimulus Package, has largely failed to create jobs in America and had to be rebranded by the White House as a jobs saving effort. Likewise, both the mythical “Green Jobs” and the upcoming “Jobs Bill” will not actually create jobs.

On the other hand, President Obama and the Liberals trying to rule Congress have caused a sudden and dramatic increase in one sector of the American economy – the lobbyists!

The financial sector hired 2567 lobbyists in 2009 and, in the first three quarters ofย  the year, spent over $336 million lobbying Congress. The US Chamber of Commerce hired 127 lobbyists and paid them $52 million through September 2009.

That’s a fair amount of commerce going on there with almost $400 million changing hands in three fiscal quarters, and that’s just in lobbying for the financial sector; it doesn’t include the number of jobs created for lobbyists for other sectors of the economy and other interest groups.

See, President Obama and his Liberals can create jobs. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Its all a matter of time. The fact that jobs were to be lost after Obama’s election shouldn’t come as a surprise, the economy was collapsing. Only the disillusioned really believed that ‘suddenly’ jobs would appear. However, job losses aren’t as great as they used to be, which is a good sign.

I am not trying to defend Obama, I agree that he is doing a terrible job at organizing … he merely through money at the problem thinking it would magically fix itself. Throwing money at the problem definitely helped, to some extent, but if he had managed it properly it would have helped a great deal more.

Yes, zhann, some jobs will return if and when the market stabilizes on its own.

I was commenting on both the fact that nothing that has been done the current regime or that is planned to be done by them has had any positive effect on creating those jobs. And I was commenting on the fact that lobbying has been heavily increased since Obama’s election.

I find it ironic that the POTUS whose campaign lambasted lobbyists and swore to get rid of a lot of them gave rise to even greater numbers of them.

I’m not really attacking Obama over that point; I just find it ironic.

Giving businesses a $6,000 tax break to spend $75,000 on a new employee is just stupid. It’s like giving a squalling kid a lolipop to get them to shut up. It doesn’t really solve anything, but you get props for doing something “nice.”

    An empty, meaningless gesture.

    Steve,

Stupid? Maybe, maybe not. It would certainly be worthless for achieving its stated goals, but it might have been a useful political plot.

In any case, it looks like the “jobs bill” is dead since Reid gutted it.
