The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error.

That about sums up the current stance, desires, and rationales of Democrats today. They’ve stopped even pretending not to be totalitarians, hellbent on “saving democracy” by violating any and all basic, American tenets which have always defended it. 🙄
ROFLMAO Yep! That’s pretty close to fine Irish Meal. But only close. Personal experience augmented by one of my wives’ personal and more recent lived experience indicates that it would 6 pints and 3 potatoes, cooked three separate ways as one of the courses. 😛
And yeah; this is funny. You know why? It’s because the Irish and those of us primarily of Irish descent aren’t a bunch of worthless, puling bitches, unlike other groups. We can and will laugh at ourselves.
We as Americans should remember that the colonists did have to register their muskets in every state except for the Quakers’ Pennsylvania. In many of the colonies every man between the ages of 16 – 60 had to prove to their State’s government that they were in But We Should Remember In possession of a suitable military long arm and its associated accoutrements under penalty of law. In others only the head of household was so required.
Yes, we should always remember that, in colonial times, we did not enjoy the freedom to keep arms. We operated under the duty and burden to do so. And, such duty and burden wasn’t for just any firearm. The citizenry of that time were legally mandated to be armed with military grade weaponry.
It’s an interesting truth that America is so great that even those who hate it won’t leave, and even more that hate America voluntarily come here… whether we want them or not.
It’s also, however, and ironic truth that most of our domestic enemies can’t really leave America. The immigration policies of almost every nation that they’d be willing to emigrate to make it nearly impossible for them to do so.
As anyone with a functioning and undamaged mind can see, requiring Voter ID is common in countries to the point of nearly being the accepted norm. Only in America are there large swaths of the population and one entire political party who declaim it as wrong and racist. Many nations, in fact, with lower tech levels to secure their elections even mark people’s bodies when they have voted in order to combat voter fraud.
It kind of makes you wonder – or, it should – why the Democrats are so virulently against it. It’s almost like they believe that they need a lack of election security in order to “win” elections.
A Maddening Caveat
The above being the truth and being said, any detractors from Voter ID laws do have valid grievances when any of the several States require valid photo ID in order to vote and then strongly restrict the forms of valid ID while, at the same time, closing facilities where one could get such an ID in areas under the enemy parties control. That’s wrong and stupidly so.
