Why So Serious?

Why So Curious, George?
When Two Selves Come Into Conflict

Could it simply be that Obama is decompensating and his inner self is finally being seen? That would explain the bitterness inherent in the boy’s immediate dive into negative politics and attack in the 2012 elections.

It could instead be a well-though-out out and quasi-Machiavellian example of realpolitik instead though. Obama won in 2008 due to a shift in the demographics of the American electorate. He won on the strength of the turnout of young people and Blacks – and multiple polls suggest that those two demographics are not enthusiastic this time around.

Frankly, once installed in office, Obama utterly failed to continue to be inspirational to those groups who put him in office in the first place. As he can’t run on the strength of his record, trying to inspire key demographics to vote against Romney instead of for himself might be his best strategy to keep his job.

It’s not likely to be a winning strategy though, if that’s Obama’s, his handlers’, and proxies’ actual thought. It didn’t work for Kerry and it likely won’t work this time either.

    Jonolan,

If you watch the convention you would think that the old magic is still there. The faithful are enthralled with the speakers praising our fearless leader. The hardcore zombies lap up the twin philosophies of victimhood and scapegoat politics. They are the victims and rich white men are the scapegoats.

The pure hypocrisy of their every action is evident to all but them. Liberal women are exalted by Bill Clinton’s speech. They see no conflict between their phony charge of a GOP war on women, and their own worship of the big dog who only saw women as sex objects. And boy do they hate to be called hypocrites.

Yeah, that’s to be expected, Alan. Just don’t look at the actual attendance numbers and it looks a lot like 2008 with all the Obama Zombies drooling over themselves.

I used to coach youth soccer. If you want to see people lose all rationality, you have to watch parents at a kids soccer game . I was as guilty of it as anyone. I sometimes walked away from the games because I became aware of my own over emotion. That example is the only thing I can look to, when trying to get my mind around the total disregard for the truth, the Democrats cheering the speakers at the Democratic Convention have.

Winning at all costs is what it is all about. Such Liberal rags as the Washington Post have shot holes in Clinton’s, Biden’s, and Obama’s speeches on the issue of truth. The Liberal bloggers are all afraid that the Super Pacs on the right have the money to tell “bigger” lies to the undecided than the lies their Super Pacs can.

We value truth; political operatives don’t. Hence, I don’t think that they even view its loss a cost in their quest for victory, Alan.
