A Taste Of Africa

File this particular bit of unfortunate irony under the category of World’s Worst Failure in Timing…

DW's A Taste Of Africa
A Taste Of Africa Comes To Dallas!

Dallas Weekly, a 55 year-old, Black-owned and Black-centric newspaper ran this as their cover right as the first case of ebola in America struck a Black man in Dallas, TX. A taste of Africa comes to Dallas indeed. Ouch!

Please note, however, that this issue of DW was designed and scheduled before news broke of the Dallas Ebola victim, who arrived in Dallas from Liberia on the September 20th, went to the hospital on the same day this issue hit the news stands, and was not diagnosed until five days later.

Now THAT is a sick sense of humor. I’m guessin’ it garnered less than rave reviews?

Well, as I wrote, it wasn’t a sense of humor, sick or otherwise. It was just ironically bad timing. Remember that the cover art and lead story was set and printed before the news broke and couldn’t really be recalled at that point.

As for reviews, however – there were essentially none. DW is a Black paper for Blacks and, hence, this unintended faux pas was studiously ignored by the MSM in America.

I still can’t help but wonder if the sick bastards didn’t have the inside scoop well beforehand?

  4. jonolan Says:

I really don’t see how they could have, Buffet.

Well if ya wanna be rational about it….probably not ๐Ÿ˜‰
