Reflections From a Murky Pond

I could wax rhapsodic about why America is great and why it is the greatest nation and culture on Earth, one that holds – admittedly, sometimes tenuously – a special place in the God(s)’ favor. Most of what I would say would, however, be more how America is great and not why it is so great.

It really mostly boils down to childlike naivete, courage, and heroism.

We Believe In Heroes

Americans possess a terrible naivete that allows us to believe in heroes and to unashamedly wish to emulate them. And yes, this naivete is terrible in the old sense of the word. That Americans believe than there are those that can rise above the norm and do the impossible strikes terror in the bowels of our enemies.

We Become Heroes

That belief is what allows normal Americans to be exactly that. Time and time again, irrespective of any and all logic and wisdom, we do rise above the norm and become heroes.

That is why America is great. We never put the childish belief in heroism aside as we grow up.

With the rather surprising 5-4 decision by the SCOTUS allowing for ObamaCare’s Individual Mandate to stand as a tax America stands the very real chance of having the federal government dictate all portions and terms of US Healthcare.

Is This America’s Healthcare Future?

The real question and the existential threat put before each and every American citizen is what will the future US healthcare system look like as the government flexes its muscles and coerces the industries involved into towing the line?

Iron Predator – We Are So Screwed

Whether you call them Yautja, Hish, or leave them nameless, the Predators were some of the most bad-ass sci-fi aliens to ever give humanity a hard time – and now we’ve got one in Iron Man’s Golden Avenger suit?!?!

America is a land of traditions. Americans are fond of our history, short as it is, and are largely loath to cast it aside. This can cause problems when those traditions and cultural edifices are evil.

Not All That Is Old Is Good

Evil is ancient and that particular evil known as the Democratic Party dates back almost to the founding of America. Yet age has not lessened it. It has only provided it a less honest but more pleasing face.

The 2012 elections are a chance for Americans to put aside this tradition of evil in our land and remove these Democrats from office en mass for the sake of our nation’s very soul.

This is one singular change that no true American should fear and getting Shub-Niggurath, The Black Goat Of The Woods, out of the White House is only part of cure. We need to purge the House and Senate as well.
