Black Population Boom

Posted in Politics on March 17th, 2009

It is expected that there will be a sharp and sudden rise in the numbers of the Black population in America over the course of the next year. This is expected – intended by some ne’erdowells – to cause a dramatic shift in the allocation of federal and state funds.

No, there’s not going to be a sudden sad rise in the already shameful “baby mama” population – thank all the Gods for their mercy and ongoing tolerance. ACORN is partnering with Obama’s Administration to help conduct the 2010 US Census.

The U.S. Census is supposed to be free of politics, but one group with a history of voter fraud, ACORN, is participating in next year’s count, raising concerns about the politicization of the decennial survey.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now signed on as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau in February 2009 to assist with the recruitment of the 1.4 million temporary workers needed to go door-to-door to count every person in the United States — currently believed to be more than 306 million people.

A U.S. Census “sell sheet,” an advertisement used to recruit national partners, says partnerships with groups like ACORN “play an important role in making the 2010 Census successful,” including by “help[ing] recruit census workers.”

All humor aside, I fairly sure ACORN’s long history of handling paperwork as they have and the particular methods they use for hiring staff – especially canvassing “staffers” – had a great deal to with the Obama administration’s choice to include ACORN in the 2010 Census.

FUBAR Al-Islam

Posted in Society on March 17th, 2009

Sometimes the shear bizarreness and perversity of cultures astounds me. Currently the “shock and awe” over gross stupidity and derailed logic trains that I’m experiencing stems from the incomprehensible behavior of Saudi Arabia, whose laws are modeled on the Wahhabists’ strict interpretation of Shari’a.

These supposedly civilized and cultured people will do the damnedest and hopefully most damnable things

They’ll gleefully sentence a 75 year-old woman to 40 lashes, 4 months imprisonment, and exile from Saudi Arabia for having two unrelated men – who were bringing her food – in her house for some short period of time.

A Saudi Arabian court has sentenced a 75-year-old Syrian woman to 40 lashes, four months imprisonment and deportation from the kingdom for having two unrelated men in her house, according to local media reports.

According to the Saudi daily newspaper Al-Watan, troubles for the woman, Khamisa Mohammed Sawadi, began last year when a member of the religious police entered her house in the city of Al-Chamli and found her with two unrelated men, “Fahd” and “Hadian.”

Fahd told the policeman he had the right to be there, because Sawadi had breast-fed him as a baby and was therefore considered to be a son to her in Islam, according to Al-Watan. Fahd, 24, added that his friend Hadian was escorting him as he delivered bread for the elderly woman. The policeman then arrested both men.

And yet the Saudis require that women buy their lingerie from men, since by law all sales clerks in Saudi Arabia are men.

From Global Post:

RIYADH — Reem Asaad finds it annoying to buy her bras and panties from a man. But she doesn’t have much choice in the matter.

Although Saudi Arabia has the strictest gender segregation in the world, only men are hired as sales staff in most retail stores.

“We have men selling g-strings in stores to women which doesn’t happen anywhere in the world,” said Asaad.

But the 37-year-old professor of finance and banking is even more frustrated that a three-year-old regulation permitting female sales clerks has not been implemented.

For now, that regulation is languishing in the proverbial bureaucratic bottom drawer, a vivid example of the barriers to women in the workplace put in place by an ultraconservative religious establishment opposed to women working outside the home.

Whatever logic there is behind this sort of combination of behaviors is so unhinged as to be beyond understanding by civilized people possessed of even a modicum of intelligence and education. The “mingling” of the genders, if unrelated, is a serious crime and yet Saudi Arabia enforces laws that force women to buy “intimate apparel” from men.

One has to wonder if the initiation ritual or training regimen of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice involves a protracted bare-headed stay under the desert sun. Severe heat stroke and having one’s brains cooked is close to being the only organic pathology that could explain such asinine and contradictory behaviors and rulings.

Truly, Wahabism would be better named FUBAR Al-Islam. 😉

On the other – much more sarcastic and prurient – hand, I’m sure that the store clerks are happy with things the way they are now.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I’d love to have the chance to know what these women chose to wear under their abayas. I’m sure the lingerie clerks feel the same way. 😉

Useful But Empty Words

Obama the Teleprompter, 44th President of the USPresident Obama made a fairly big stir in the media when he issued an Executive Order removing the ban on federal funding for embryonic stem Cell research. Liberals, largely atheist or secular, were overjoyed with the increased freedom of research. Conservatives, largely religious, were outraged and dismayed by their tax dollars being spend on the destruction of human embryos.

The President’s words regarding embryonic stem cell research were of the sort that inspire people, both in support of his decision and in opposition to it.

Today, with the Executive Order I am about to sign, we will bring the change that so many scientists and researchers; doctors and innovators; patients and loved ones have hoped for, and fought for, these past eight years: we will lift the ban on federal funding for promising embryonic stem cell research. We will vigorously support scientists who pursue this research. And we will aim for America to lead the world in the discoveries it one day may yield.

These were very proud and seemingly significant words that the 44th President of the United States read off of his teleprompter. Politically they were very useful since President Obama needs to maintain a certain level of political capital amongst his Liberal followers. Sadly for some, beyond a certain amount of “grandstanding,” they were completely useless and apparently baseless.

Two days after President Obama said these words and issued his executive order lifting the ban on embryonic stem cell research he signed into law a bill that explicitly outlawed the spending of federal funds upon such research. The legislation was contained in the 465-page Omnibus Appropriations Act that Obama signed Wednesday, March 11, 2009.

SEC. 509. (a) None of the funds made available in this Act may be used for—

(1) the creation of a human embryo or embryos for research purposes; or
(2) research in which a human embryo or embryos are destroyed, discarded, or knowingly subjected to risk of injury or death greater than that allowed for research on fetuses in utero under 45 CFR 46.204(b) and section 498(b) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 289g(b)).

SEC. 509. (b) For purposes of this section, the term “human embryo or embryos” includes any organism, not protected as a human subject under 45 CFR 46 as of the date of the enactment of this Act, that is derived by fertilization, parthenogenesis, cloning, or any other means from one or more human gametes or human diploid cells.

H.R. 1105: Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009

This particular piece of legislation is commonly referred to as the Dickey-Wicker amendment and has been included as a rider on various federal appropriations bill since 1995.

Since President Obama’s executive order explicitly doesn’t operate in contravention of current US law, his signing of the Omnibus Appropriations Act rendered this order null, void, and meaningless.

Sec. 4. General Provisions.
(a) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(b) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) authority granted by law to an executive department, agency, or the head thereof; or

(ii) functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

Removing Barriers To Responsible Scientific
Research Involving Human Stem Cells

It seems that a lot of people forgot the President Obama is a politician and political candidate first, foremost, and always and will say whatever his team of advisers and managers assure him is in his best political and professional interests. They either got elated or upset over nothing but useful but empty words.

Truth & Fiction

Posted in Humor, Politics on March 16th, 2009

It is the nature of politicians to place great stock in words. Words are cheap and the fiction woven by them is quite effective at manipulating and distracting the masses from the truth of one’s deeds. It IS necessary though for the ideologue to keep those deeds in the shadows, otherwise the fiction being woven is laughable.

Oh well…At least Obama’s script writers and teleprompter technicians are sheltered from lay-offs. 😉 And really, who am I to deny a man the crutch he needs?

At Obama’s Pleasure

Posted in Politics on March 15th, 2009

The Democrats, first in an attempt to undermine President Bush and now in an ongoing effort to sustain their monologue of his vilification, raised unholy Hell over his firing of some of the attorneys in the U.S. Attorneys Office. When President Bush terminated the employment of nine (9) United States Attorneys at the end of 2006, the Liberals in control of Congress instantly launched massive quasi-legal attack upon the President, US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, and the Executive in general.

A subsequent report by the Justice Department Inspector General in October, 2008 found that the process used to fire the first seven (7) attorneys and two (2) others dismissed around the same time was “arbitrary,” “fundamentally flawed,” and “raised doubts about the integrity of Department prosecution decisions.”

This was crap and nothing but the Legislative seeking to violate the Separation of Power at the expense of the Executive. The US Attorneys serve at the pleasure of the President.

But what will the Liberals do now? Their messianic leader, President Obama has sought to fire the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, Catherine Hanaway and replace her with St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch.

No reasons have been stated by the White House or the US Attorney General’s Office for Hanaways removal. It should be noted though that Hanaway is a Republican and received her law degree at the Catholic University of America, whereas McCulloch is a Democrat and received his law degree at Saint Louis University School of Law. McColluch was also one of the two prosecutors – along with Jennifer Joyce – heading up Obama’s “Truth Squads” during his campaign for the Presidency.

As under Bush, these people “serve at the pleasure of the President,” who is now the Liberal, Barack Obama. He can hire or fire them as he sees fit.

So…President Obama seems to be purging the US Attorney General’s office of people who do not share his political views and his ideology, and attempting to replace them with appointees that do so and who were useful to him during his run for the Presidency. Will Congress hold him to the same requirements as they held Bush or will they remain silent now that it’s their boy doing the job?

More importantly, will the Liberals in Congress now relinquish their desires to continue attacking former President Bush and his administration over doing the same thing?

Simple observation of Liberal behavior shows that this is so unlikely as to be statistical impossibility. Much like all things that are done by the POTUS, the Executive, and the government in general, the appointees of the Executive only “serve at the pleasure of the President” when that President is a Democrat and a fellow Leftist.
