Every American knows that the Democrats, especially their politicians, despise religion and any thought of the Divine – especially the Christians’ God. Though, admittedly, they mouth solidarity with Muslims. It is, however, rare for one of their politicians to come out and say so with its out-loud voice. Yet that’s exactly what one of them, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), recently did.

The notion that rights don’t come from laws and don’t come from the government, but come from the Creator — that’s what the Iranian government believes. It’s a theocratic regime that bases its rules on Shia law and targets Sunnis, Bahá’ís, Jews, Christians, and other religious minorities. And they do it because they believe that they understand what natural rights are from their Creator. So, the statement that our rights do not come from our laws or our government is extremely troubling.

Funny, our nation was literally founded upon the exact opposite position. Right in the Declaration of Independence, they penned and published:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Also, the assertion that “the constitution enumerates our rights, it doesn’t grant them” is a fundamental principle of American constitutional law. The Constitution was designed to protect preexisting, inherent rights, not create them, by placing restrictions on governmental power. The Ninth Amendment further clarifies this, stating that the list of enumerated rights does not deny or disparage other rights retained by the People.

What’s actually extremely troubling is Kaine, who holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Harvard, either firmly believes or is willing to claim the opposite.

Horrific as his assertion is, it’s not that surprising coming from a Democrat – though again, it’s rare for them to be that honest. After all, the Democrats et al believe that the highest authority in America is the federal government. The very thought of a higher power makes them gnash their teeth – and occasionally commit mass murder.

Understand, though, if your “rights” come from mortal authority, they’re merely “legal rights,” which are nothing but privileges codified into law, and which can be stripped from you at that authority’s discretion at any time and for any reason or no reason at all.

The above cartoon is a nigh-on perfect, and perfectly sarcastic, example of what is actually wrong in America today. In the minds of far too many nothing is exempt from political meaning and allegiance. Nothing.

True, it is far more prevalent among Democrats and their sort with their hate-filled #CancelCulture and TURDS, but Americans these days are prone to the problem as well, just not as much or to the extent that the Left is.

It’s all a sure sign that the government is too big, too invasive, and far too pervasive. It’s also a sign that the 24/7 fake news cycle is pernicious and a clear and present danger to the health of the People and the Nation.
