Reflections From a Murky Pond

That Obama considers himself above scrutiny or accountability goes largely without saying. Each and every action that he has taken in his political career has been shrouded in secrecy – to the point that all details of his life, from birth to graduation, have been expunged from the public record, leaving only his voice to provide the narrative for it. His tenure in politics has followed the same shrouded and duplicitous path.

This is a useful and cunning course of action for the would-be demagogue or tyrant.

It is also part and parcel of the iconic image of the Magic Negro, a meme that was largely responsible for Obama’s election to the Presidency and, therefore, not to be considered unexpected behavior by Obama.

This has, however, become a severe problem since he was installed in office because Obama has extended this behavior to his actions as POTUS by denying the press normal access while forming his own State Media Machine so that it is, once again his voice alone is providing the narrative.

Even ABC, who went far out of their way and farther beyond the pale of journalistic ethics to ensure America had it’s First Black President, have begun to cry foul:

The White House Press Office now not only produces a website, blog, YouTube channel, Flickr photo stream, and Facebook and Twitter profiles, but also a mix of daily video programming, including live coverage of the president’s appearances and news-like shows that highlight his accomplishments.

Over the past few months, as White House cameras have been granted free reign behind the scenes, officials have blocked broadcast news outlets from events traditionally open to coverage and limited opportunities to publicly question the president himself.

Obama’s recent signing of the historic New START treaty with Russia and his post-State of the Union cabinet meeting, for example, were both closed to reporters in a break with tradition. And during a recent question and answer session with the president and visiting Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the White House imposed an unusual limit of just one question each from the U.S. and Canadian press corps.

“The administration has narrowed access by the mainstream media to an unprecedented extent,” said ABC News White House correspondent Ann Compton, who has covered seven administrations. “Access here has shriveled.”

Members of the press have always had quibbles with White House media strategies, calling cut-backs in access an affront to transparency, even as administration officials insist they’re simply taking advantage of new technologies.

But some say the current dynamic is different, and dangerous.

“They’re opening the door to kicking the press out of historic events, and opening the door to having a very filtered format for which they give the American public information that doesn’t have any criticism allowed,” said University of Minnesota journalism professor and political communication analyst Heather LaMarre.

In point of fact, I have little sympathy for ABC or any of the “lamestream” media. They’ve been largely silent about the Obama’s Regime’s incessant attacks upon Fox News. I sort of feel that if you stay silent when they come for Fox you shouldn’t feel entitled to have anyone speak up when they come for you. Also, they had every reason to see this coming.

But the fact that I have little or no sympathy for ABC’s plight doesn’t mean that they’re not right or that this isn’t something that endangers more than just the media’s feelings and ratings.

This strikes like a shiv at the beating heart of American liberty and must not be tolerated by we, the People.

A reasonably free press is a needed to ensure that the government, rarely the true friend of the people, doesn’t go too far astray. Without the press having access to our elected politicians the descent into tyranny and despotism is assured.

Of course Obama, who tells us that he studied Constitutional Law, should know this. He just willfully chooses to violate this fundamental American precept in order to shield himself from criticism.

Does this mean that Obama is a tyrant? Not necessarily, though it is precursor behavior for one. But precursor behaviors do not always lead to full-blown end-states in behavior patterns.

But it doesn’t matter whether Obama is a would-be despot or merely a narcissistic man who believes himself to above scrutiny, criticism, and/or reproach; this method of “controlling the message” must be eradicated by firm and uncertain means.

President Obama delivered what passed for his his State Of The Union Address last night. The GOP and various members of the American people immediately thereafter began rebutting it and analyzing the speech’s meanings.

Why do they bother? You can’t rebut meaningless hot air, which is all that Obama’s nuanced rhetoric and conflicting not-quite-promises were.

The 2011 SOTU Address was nothing other than- or more than Obama’s first major campaign speech in his bid for re-election in 2012. Don’t waste your time and effort, or lend it or its speaker any undeserved weight or significance, rebutting or analyzing it.

So, today is the day of the POTUS’ annual pep talk, his State Of The Union Address. Tonight at 9:00 PM. EST President Obama will preempt the national airwaves and deliver his SOTU address to Congress, various dignitaries, and those of the American people who choose to watch it.

As is now commonplace, the POTUS will speak much but say very little of substance.

This SOTU address in particular will be nothing but a pep talk combined with admonitions for Liberals to stay strong, to rally behind President Obama’s agenda, and to swallow another serving of “Hope and Change.” Much more so than a Constitutionally required report to Congress, tonight’s address is the inauguration of Obama’s 2012 Presidential election campaign.

Take Obama’s speech for what it’s worth, no more and no less. If nothing else, it makes for a good drinking game.

There has been grumblings from within the Beltway for some time but the last couple of weeks leading up to the 2010 Congressional Mid-term Elections saw a sharp increase in behind the scenes rancor between Congressional Democrats and President Obama’s White House, and some dissension within the Congressional Democrats themselves.

Is the the Blues’ house divided in the wake of their trouncing by the GOP on November 2, 2010? There are some indication that this so and some hints that the surviving Dems are separating into two camps – the Clinton Democrats and the Obama Democrats.

Internecine War Afoot Soon? Clinton Dems v. Obama Dems?

Word on the street (K Street) and scuttlebutt at the Capital Grille is that there might be a Primary Challenge against Obama. Some of those rumors point to a sudden increase in communications between Secretary of State Clinton and outgoing House Speaker Pelosi as the basis for substantiating this idea.

No, none of this has any online sources. It is a mixture of rumor, hearsay, extrapolation upon past and present behaviors by the principals involved, and some basic sociodynamics.

Take it for what it’s worth and no more, but also no less. I did break / predict Sen. McCain’s “choosing” Governor Sara Palin as his VP candidate and running mate a full week before the official announcement after all. 😉

It might get even worse for President Obama than being challenged in the Democratic Primary. Obama is wounded and weak, politically speaking, and there are always scandals and such that could be used to bring him down. If the Dems are split as rumor claims, the Clinton Dems – possibly including Pelosi – might aid the GOP’s expected attacks against Obama and not even block Impeachment proceedings.

Think about it for a moment. Pelosi weakens Obama enough so that Clinton can beat him in a Primary Challenge, then Clinton nominates Pelosi as her VP candidate.

One thing to watch for is whether or not Pelosi resigns from the House entirely and, if so, how she goes about it. Another is what Hillary Clinton is doing and how she presents herself to foreign governments, as principal actor or as Obama’s puppet.

Is the the Blues’ house divided? I think we’ll pretty much know the answer to that by Christmas.

The Liberals were warned – loudly and repeatedly – by Americans that there would be unhealthy consequences from forcing the abomination that is ObamaCare upon the people. Of course the Liberals, indoctrinated into a neo-Socialist cult of anti-Americanism and anti-Capitalism, ignored these warnings and supported the Triumvirate of Evil, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid in their quest to quasi-nationalize 1/6th (16%) of the US economy.

In the wake of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid unconstitutionally enacting ObamaCare through a series of only marginally legal methods, it didn’t take long at all for Americans’ common sense wisdom to be proven right and our dire predictions to become horrid reality.

• Health insurance premiums for individuals and small businesses have been set to rise up to 20% due to ObamaCare.
• Insurance carriers are dropping specialized coverage such a children only plans due to ObamaCare.
• Part-Time, hourly workers, and low-wage employees, are likely to lose their “mini-med” coverage.

So the immediate unhealthy consequences of the filth trying to rule America’s foray into Health Insurance Reconstruction is that individuals and small businesses, children, and poor people – the three groups mendaciously touted by Obama and his coterie as the primary beneficiaries of ObamaCare – are all facing either significant increases in health insurance costs or a loss of coverage et al.

As we approach the 2010 Congressional Elections and later the 2012 Presidential Elections it is critical for Americans to remember that these are unhealthy consequences of ObamaCare, not unintended consequences. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and all their followers knew what they were doing and were more than willing to sacrifice the health hand very lives of Americans in order to reach their goal – Socialized Medicine aka a Single Payer System.

This Is Just A Transitional Step Towards A Single-Payer System

These vermin knew that enacting the legislation contained within the final version of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act would force health insurance providers, which operate at a mere 3 – 4% profit margin, to raise rates and reduce coverage to high-risk clientele or go out of business entirely, leaving tens of millions of American men, women, and children without health insurance.

This was their plan. Drive the health insurance industry to either make unpopular rate increases and service cuts or go out of business. Either way it would enable the Triumvirate of Evil to step in and takeover or supplant the industry. It has always been their intent to manufacture this crisis and then capitalize upon it.

Know this – any deaths that result from this, especially the deaths of any American children, are on the hands of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and their Liberal followers. They need and want people to die.

These creatures are a clear and present danger to the health, well-being, and very lives of American men, women, and children. They are more than willing to kill among us in order to “fundamentally change” the nation that they so despise.

What’s even worse is that the Liberals won’t be satisfied with killing American children. The many children who survive will be de facto “indentured” to foreign powers in order to pay off the Triumvirate of Evil’s multi-trillion dollar deficit spending spree.

Remember all this in November and use the ballot box to enact real change, positive change, change that will start the restoration of America. We, the People must stand shoulder-to-shoulder and cast down these would-be despots with these elections.

If we can’t stand strong and united and defeat the enemies of America using the ballot box then it will be necessary for each American patriot’s conscience to dictate what actions he or she will take to preserve and defend our nation. It’d be far better for all if it didn’t come to that.
