Climate Heresy

Posted in Politics on June 12th, 2014

The Magisterium of the Warmist faith have- and make great use of their Inquisition.  Woe betide the scientist who strays from orthodoxy and into climate heresy. While the Inquisitions tools are different than they were, they are no less terrifying to those who have failed to appreciate and follow the AGW doctrine as it is set forth for them.

Global Warming Heresy
The Climate Change Inquisition Brooks No Heresy

For those souls who do not accept the incontrovertible Word of Mann, there is nothing but confinement and pain until such time as the recant and return to the Global Warming flock.

I’m left wondering, however, about how many, if any, dedicated scientists muttered, “Eppure si raffredda.” after their required Auto-da-fÊ.

For those who don’t already know, Eppure si raffredda is Italian for “But it cools” which is a riff upon- and homage to Galileo Galilei’s utterance of, “Eppur si muove” – But yet it moves – after after his being forced to recant that the earth moves around the sun by the Inquisition.

Right now in a sandbox far, far away…

Mosul Eisly - A hive of scum and villainy
Mosul Eisley 2014

With Al Qaeda having taken the city by force, it seems that, after a brief renaissance, Mosul is once more a wretched hive of scum and villainy and, more than likely, there’s absolutely nothing that we can do about it.

We lack the appropriate forces to send…

Jedi Templar
Non Nobis Impetus, Non Nobis, Sed Nomini Tuo Da Gloriam

Yep! I haven’t seen or heard of any of the Jedi Knights Templar being around and available for this sort of enterprise.

I suppose that will should, and will likely have to, let the Iraqis deal with their own problem this time. After all, we helped them build their government and train their forces, and then left their country both on the original timeline as set forth by President Bush Jr. and abided by Obama and at the incontrovertible and stern request of that very Iraqi government that is now having a problem.

Sorry For The Outage

As you might be aware, Reflections From A Murky Pond has been largely offline for last couple of days, with increasingly degraded service for a few days before that. What happened was that my hosting provider experienced a widespread and quite severe technical issue.

After two days of working around the clock it seems that the issue, insofar, as this blog is concerned, has been resolved and we’re back up running.

Thank you all for your patience.

Confess Don't Gloat
Hubris Is A Sin

One should remember, if one is Catholic, that the Confessional is for the confession and repentance of sins, not the boasting of good works. 😉 Of course, it’s also important to remember one’s catechism so that one can tell difference between sin and community service.
