A Liberal Disconnect

Posted in Ethics & Morality, Politics on August 4th, 2011

Screaming LiberalThe Liberals and Progressives have stepped up their screaming of insults at and about Americans, especially the patriots of the TEA Party, and they’ve stepped up the hand wringing, whining, and moaning at and about Obama.

In their eyes Americans are “terrorists,” “extremists” and “hostage takers” and Obama is “weak,” “indecisive,” and a “turncoat.”

Essentially these domestic enemies hate Americans because Americans stood up for their principles and core values, did as they swore to do despite personal risk, and refused to gracefully capitulate on matters of national importance. Yet at the same time these Liberals and Progressives loath Obama for not doing so.

It’s all too easy to chalk it up to the normal and, by this point, dismissible Liberal hypocrisy. For the Leftists’ rank and file though this might be an erroneous conclusion.

While the people behind them and the politicians working for them are likely being cynically hypocritical, it’s quite possible that the Liberals’ myrmidons actually do have such a cognitive disconnect that they can’t even see the ridiculousness of their juxtaposed positions.

What Causes AGW?

Posted in Humor, Politics, The Environment on August 3rd, 2011

Chaos Butterfly Al Gore’s cultists, The Warmists still wail, rant and rave about Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) – or whatever they’ve rebranded it as this month – and still monomaniacally fixate on man-made CO2 emissions as the cause of their looked-for apocalypse. This they, in their religious fervor, do despite a plethora of contrary evidence as to CO2’s primary and secondary effects upon our planet’s climate.

Sadly for them, their eschatology runs afoul of Chaos Theory and, even leaving the falsity of much of their data aside, it’s patently ridiculous for supposed scientists to believe that they can come up with the correctly weighted causative factors behind systemic changes when the system in question is as large and poorly understood as Earth’s climate.

Perhaps they should have read more about Professor Edward Norton Lorenz’ “Butterfly Effect” – i.e., sensitive dependence on initial conditions in nonlinear systems

Alas that could never happen. Lorenz was a meteorologist as well as a mathematician and we know the disdain and contempt that the Warmists feel towards meteorologists.

Still, the issue is potentially important and deserved study. After some research I found a pattern of events and actions that seems to near-perfectly fit their warming models. I may have actually stumbled upon the real culprit behind AGW – the United States Postal Service.

The Warmists should really look into this. Global mean temperatures track much closer to US Postal rates than to atmospheric CO2 levels. Doing so shouldn’t bother them much either, if they can get past their slavish devotion to their dogma. It fits the facts in evidence, is still anthropogenic in nature, and would make AGW entirely America’s fault. Hence it doesn’t violate anything in the Warmists’ core doctrine. 😛

Equality Of Result

Posted in Politics on August 3rd, 2011

The Liberals’ idea of race relations and mitigating the racism that they see everywhere – except in the mirror or in the eyes of non-Whites – has always centered on accommodation, appeasement, excuses, and lowering standards in order to foster an equality of result. This has, in general, had poor results but was especially harmful to everyone when they applied it to creditworthiness.

Thomas Sowell sums up how well this helped the Blacks:

Government agencies, from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to the Federal Reserve leaned on lenders to lower lending standards, and the Department of Justice threatened prosecutions for discrimination if the racial makeup of people approved for mortgage loans did not match their preconceptions.

It worked. In fact, it worked so well that many blacks got loans that they could not have gotten otherwise.

Now the statistics tell us, belatedly, that blacks lost out, big time, from this “favor” done for them by politicians.

Reality being what it is, these Blacks who were handed loans that they didn’t except by grace of their skin color and Liberal stupidity qualify for, were “overrepresented” among those who later defaulted on their mortgages.

Of course a certain equality of outcome or result was achieved by the Liberals’ policies. The banks’ move to shield themselves from the inherent risks in sub-prime mortgages by bundling them into securities and the federal governments’ regulations that coerced financial firms to heavily buy those securities was a large part of what led to America’s current economic woes which have affected us all.

It’s a simple fact that lowering the standards and applying coercive force to ensure any form of demographic quotas can and will only achieve an equality of results when those results are negative and such negative results are the most likely outcome.

Suicidal Loons

Sometimes you just have to laugh and the recent brouhaha over once again raising the federal government’s debt ceiling is one of those times, especially given the Leftist Media’s portrayal of the conflict – if one wants to avoid a possible psychotic episode.

You Can’t Compromise With Crazy or Evil

Of course Eric Allie’s cartoon is less than perfectly accurate. More perfect imagery would include children careful strapped in the car since it’s our children and our children’s children who the Liberals are stealing from.

Of course compromise, even with those who are hell-bent on destroying America so that they can replace it some Liberaltopian non-nation, is possible. I’d suggest stopping the car and throwing the Liberals, Progressives, and the pet media off the cliff. That way we all get what we want. 😉

That We Have To Ask…

Posted in Politics on August 2nd, 2011

Variations of this question keep coming up in both conversation and in posts, articles, and comments across the internet:

Why is government failure always a justification for more government?

That we have allowed ourselves to be placed in a situation where we are forced to ask this question shows that America has already progressed so far from its true path that there is no solution for America that will not bring pain, misery, and death to many people.
