Reflections From a Murky Pond

A while back Obama blamed technology, specifically the internet, for America’s job loss and continued unsustainable levels of unemployment.  While it’s abundantly true that, in three long years, Obama has spent most of his efforts in blaming everyone other than himself and his Liberals for America’s issues,  I’ve got to admit that he’s got a point this time.

That is what technology does. It removes the need for low-end manual effort, effort that is considered unacceptably hazardous, and effort that requires tedious repetition and accuracy.

Can you say green jobs? It’s easy; just say, “gōngzuò de” which is Chinese for “green jobs.” and it looks like China will be where those “green jobs” that Obama promised will be.

It seems that back in September 2011, the Obama-appointed heads of General Motors signed an agreement with the Chinese government to effectively move all future electric vehicle (EV) development to China. Primary production of such vehicles will also likely move to China.

America’s Liar-in-Chief, Obama strikes again.

But then almost all of these “green jobs” that Obama has touted and attacked traditional American jobs and practices over have gone to foreigners so GM’s moving their electric powertrain development to China shouldn’t come as a surprise despite Obama giving them a massive handout from the taxpayers’ coffers.

Many Christians talk about the Second Coming of their savior, Jesus. A lot of them look eagerly for Him to return and take matters back in hand.

It Was So Much Easier In the Iron Age

Somehow I don’t think that they’ve fully thought through the problems that He would face upon His return. 😉

There’s a whole lot of flak about Genetically Modified (GMO) crops. All sorts of evils have been ascribed to them by various sorts who hate technology and/or the corporations who create them, mostly the latter.

The thing is that they’re complaining about all the wrong things!

It’s Sustainable And Filling, A True Stuffing Pepper

Gentlemen, these sorts of “stuffing peppers” need to be eradicated post haste before we slide even further into irrelevancy. 😯

One thing that everyone should count upon is that soldiers and sailors will be creative and reuse and misuse any and materiel at their disposal in order to achieve their ends. Many of these field expedients are for direct combat or support operations but even more are creative – sometimes overly so 😉 – means of providing basic comforts that personnel in combat zones normally lack.

A case in point…

When you’ve seen: bunkers made of cases of beer; chess, checkers, and cribbage sets made out of anything and everything; nearly every place in every vehicle’s engine compartment used for warming rations; and just about every possible part of small arms used as bottle openers, the fact that some serviceman decided to send his TALON EOD Robot to get him a beer is not shocking.

Of course I always thought the purpose of the TALON was to keep our soldiers from getting bombed. 😆
