Remember We’re Watching

Posted in Politics on November 16th, 2010

America’s anger and our rejection of President Obama’s agenda and how it was enacted by Pelosi’s and Reid’s Congress swept the Republican Party back into office across the nation. The GOP fared very well in the 2010 elections thanks to this repudiation of Statism, Socialism, and Liberalism.

What is important for these Republicans to remember is that this does not mean that Americans endorse that which has seemingly become the GOP’s agenda over the past few decades. We did not remove one set of Statists in order to replace them with another.

We, The People Are Watching; Remember That

Oh yes! It would be very wise for the Republicans to remember that the American people are watching them. It would also serve the GOP well to keep it firmly fixed in their minds that we have given them their marching orders and that their only job is to carry them out.

Failure would be quite costly since the voters will certainly punish such errancy in the 2012 elections. Failing to try to follow the will of the People could be far, far more costly for the Republican politicians and for those close to them.

No Regrets?

Posted in Ethics & Morality, Musings, Philosophy, Society on November 15th, 2010

Regret It is a long recurring theme, the call to have no regrets and/or to live one’s life without regret. Both the young and the middle-aged seeking to find their lost youth herald this idea as a measure of courage and personal growth.

It is one of the more laughable ideas that I’ve heard issue from the mouths of fools and people trying to sell me something. It also would be dangerous if generally achievable.

Let’s leave aside for the moment the fact that only the severely mentally deficient and/or damaged, the most shallow of narcissists, and total sociopaths could ever hope to achieve a life with no regrets. Let’s concentrate instead upon those deluded fools who might attempt this largely in vain.

A Tattered Cloth

Posted in Politics on November 14th, 2010

Obama Gump - Stupid Is As Stupid DoesRemember Obama’s and his Liberal coterie’s “signature” achievement, ObamaCare? You know, the one that they ran away from in droves during the 2010 elections, the one that Americans rejected categorically, utterly, and vocally. As expected, it was born a failure and has been shown to be woven of a tattered cloth made up of lies and special “exemptions” for Liberal-favored organizations.

Obama, Pelosi, and Reid crafted an abomination in their attempt at a Reconstruction of the American health insurance industry and a quasi-nationalization of 1/6 of America’s economy and imposed by unconstitutional and treasonous means upon we, the People of the United States of America – and it has already failed.

Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services, led by the infanticidal maniac, Kathleen Sebelius, has already issued 111 waivers or exemptions, representing over 1,175,000 policyholders, just from the restrictions on the imposition of annual limits on the dollar value of health benefits.

If they hadn’t issued these exemptions those 1,175,000 currently issued, if by some standards under-insured, people – mostly lower income and minorities who make up the Democrats’ voting base – would have lost their coverage completely.

In the words of Winston Groom’s and Eric Roth’s character, Forrest Gump, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

Those words aptly and succinctly sum up Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and their anti-American cabal of Liberals who are so hell-bent on destroying the intrinsic fabric of America that they can’t even be bothered to read to legislative vehicle which they sought to use to do so.

Obama - Open Wider Or It's Going Up Your Ass

In some ways it’s to America’s benefit that our domestic enemies are this stupid, but such gross stupidity by those in some form of power has the real capacity of causing dire harm to the men, women, and children of our nation in failure as well as in success.

We Americans must do what we can to ensure that our politicians are stringently forced to adhere to their commitment to repeal what parts of ObamaCare that can be repeal and to defund the remaining portions of this abomination.

Pearls Before Swine

Posted in Politics, Society on November 12th, 2010

Recently some people, mostly Liberals who came here to refute my assertions and/ or those of my more Conservative commentors, have whined and bemoaned the apparent change in my rhetoric towards them.

Simply put, logic and cogent arguments have had little or no impact upon them and have proven to be a waste of effort. Couched in sarcastic humor though it is, the animated video below sums up how Liberals respond to logic and cogent arguments from Americans.

How Liberals Argue And Why It’s Pointless To Engage Them

My new philosophy of dealing with the majority of Liberals can be summed up as, “Don’t throw pearls before swine; it’s a waste of pearls and annoys the pig.” This is really paraphrasing and concatenating the Bible and writings by Robert Heinlein, both of which contain practical advices for living – though only one is a consistently good basis for one’s ethics and morality.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you

Matthew 7:6, the Bible (KJV)

Time Enough for Love

Do not mistake me; I will continue discourse with those who seem willing and able to be reached – mostly the “Independents” and various social libertarians – and with those who have the capacity to debate the facts of the matters. These are a minority of the Left-Wing though.

Also do not mistake what I’ve written as being some claim that nobody of the Right ever behaves like what was lampooned in the video; some do, in fact, sink to that nadir. The difference, in my experience, is the prevalence and frequency of such behavior, with it being in broad use among Liberals and less so among Conservatives.

Obama’s Views On Jihad

Posted in Politics, Religion on November 10th, 2010

Recently a lovely young woman asked President Obama as simple question while he was visiting the St. Xaviers College in Mumbai. The question was simply, “What is your opinion of jihad.”

What dribbled, haltingly and painfully to listen to, out of Obama’s mouth in response bore little or nothing in common with an answer to her question and left all the listeners scratching their heads and wondering what it was that he actually said.

A Simple Question Gets A “WTF Did He Say?” Obama Answer

There were a host of simple ways that the young lady’s question could have been answered, many of which would have even showcased Obama’s understanding of Islam and would have been supportive of “Moderate” Muslims. Instead, Obama went off into some world that only he can see – again.

This isn’t really Obama’s fault; he can’t help himself. The fault was his handlers’ who, this time, failed to plant enough shills in the audience to get Obama through a teleprompter-free engagement.

Liberals used to crow and swoon over finally having an “articulate” POTUS after eight years of President’s Bush’s simple and blunt phrasings but, while nobody would deny that President Obama is a gifted orator, he has consistently failed to be able to function without a prepared script and to clearly and effectively answer even the simplest of questions.

Obama holds a juris doctorate from Harvard University! How in the Gods’ names did he ever manage to defend his thesis or dissertation? Affirmative Action would only take him so far.

That’s not something that could be honestly said against Bush. Leftists and America’s foreign enemies and detractors might not have liked his answers but he could and did clearly give answers to questions posed him.
