Surrendering Respect

Posted in Politics on December 25th, 2009

New York's Governor, David PatersonIt seems that the unelected, embattled, racist who currently fouls the New York State Executive Mansion in Albany, NY, David Paterson has an image problem. People keep referring to him by his first name instead of showing the “proper obeisance” and calling him by the unearned title of “Governor.”

It seems that, no matter what venue he is in, people keep referring to him as, “David,” though many quickly “correct” themselves afterward. Many just do not view Mr. Paterson as an especially elevated or intimidating figure.

This is something that bothers the political operatives that the DNC has provided to Paterson.

Being called David can undercut that improvement, and undermine his perceived authority. ā€œI rarely hear the word governor. I always hear David,ā€ said George Arzt, a campaign strategist who advises Democratic candidates in New York. ā€œOn the one hand, itā€™s charming, in a campaign sort of way, that heā€™s one of the people. On the other hand, it shows heā€™s not feared.ā€

What is important in Arzt’s lament is the use of “fear” instead of “respect.” Paterson’s campaign strategists have surrendered any thought of- or desire for the wildly unpopular Paterson to be respected by the people of New York; they’re wishing for him to be feared instead.

A man worthy of being called such desires respect, both for himself and for those things he supports.Ā  A thug, deserving and having no respect for itself or its own agenda, desires to be feared.

It’s also a risky strategy. Americans aren’t cowards and have a tendency to rightfully “remove” things that cause them or their families fear. Paterson is blind; he’d never see the bullet. šŸ˜‰

Yet – the misbegotten mockery of mankind, Paterson, aside – isn’t such an attitude as George Arzt’s both indicative and typical of the attitude of the new misborn breed of Liberal that has usurped control of the Democrat party both in New York and across our beleaguered nation?

To govern a people requires mutual respect. But Americans have already seen that this new breed of Liberal – Statists who advance a diseased, anti-American, mongrel hybridization of Socialism and Italian Fascism – have little or no interest in governance; they desire to rule.

No Merit In ObamaCare

Posted in Politics on December 22nd, 2009

There is little or no merit in ObamaCare, President Obama’s and his Liberals government takeover of the health insurance insurance in name of Health Insurance Reconstruction. If there was any merit in it, it could be argued for under those merits and this is apparently not the case.

While President Obama may have praised the Senate on December 21,2009, for bribing enough Senators to just win a 60-40 vote for cloture on his health insurance plan in the dead of night and “standing up to the special interests who’ve prevented reform for decades and who are furiously lobbying against it now,” others on the Left have a wildly different opinion of what Sen. Reid did and why.

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) appeared on MSNBCā€™s Morning Meeting with Dylan Ratigan and gave a wildly different account of Reid’s actions in response to Ratigan’s expectedly softball questioning.

Leahy’s response was so unusual that it, at first read, beggared the minds of any and all rational men except for possibly the most discerning.

Senator Leahy actually blamed the Republicans for Senator Majority Leader Reid’s need to use American tax dollars to bribe Democrat Senators to vote for cloture on ObamaCare!

Are there cases where senators said, I got to have some cover, Iā€™ve got to have something for my state as cover for voting for this because of the attacks of the Republicans? Sure, and if the Republicans are concerned about that tell them to stop the attacks on those people, you wouldnā€™t be needing that kind of cover.

— Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT)

To quote President Obama, “Let me be clear,” if there was any merit in the current ObamaCare legislation there wouldn’t be any need for Senators to need “cover” for voting in favor of it. It would stand up under its own merits to scrutiny by those Senators’ constituency.

If these Senators need such “cover” – i.e., bribes in the form American tax dollars – in order to politically survive voting for ObamaCare then the legislation in question has no merit that can be argued in the eyes of the citizens they have been elected to represent.

It’s that simple. There is, as it stands now, no merit in ObamaCare.

Solstice Bells

Yesterday was Yule for me and mine, and soon it’s Christmas for the Christians. In honor of both holidays here’s a very rare animated video from an old Jethro Tull single, Ring Out The Solstice Bells. It has a pleasing blending of the Heathen and the Christian in its imagery.

An Animated Promo For Jethro Tull’s Ring Out The Solstice Bells

Stay warm and bide during this Winter season, filled as it is this year with discontent. Pray for Spring’s coming and think of what seeds must be sown in order to reap the harvest that we desire.

Blessed Be.

Infanticide Loophole

Posted in Ethics & Morality, Politics on December 22nd, 2009

Did anyone think that the abortionists would go gently into the long night where they belong? No; I didn’t think so. Like all genocidal mass murderers, they will continue their slaughter, by any and all means until they themselves are exterminated.

Note please that I’m Anti-Abortion as opposed to Pro-Life. I have no moral qualms about exterminating vermin in order to protect the innocent – and who is more innocent than the unborn?

The baby killers on the Left have already taken steps to ensure that, even if some version Stupak’s amendment is included in the monstrosity of ObamaCare’s Health Insurance Reconstruction, the public funding of infanticide will proceed according to their plans.

President Obama’s pet Infanticide, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary, Kathleen “Kill All You Want; We’ll Fund More” Sebelius, was proud to explain the abortion funding loophole in the current Senate bill.

HHS Sec., Kathleen Sebelius Explains ObamaCare Infanticide Loophole

During an interview on December 21, 2009, with the Feminists at Blogher, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius tried to quell their fears that they might have to pay out their own money in order to have their unborn children scalded within their wombs, scraped out, and tossed onto the trash heap.

HHS Secretary Kathleen "Kill All You Want; We'll Fund More" Sebelius - She never heard of a fetus she didn't want you to pay to murderSebelius explained to the representative from Blogher that the bill, irrespective of any Stupak or Hyde Amendment that might be applied to it, would force everyone who enrolls in the new Insurance Exchange created by ObamaCare to contribute part of their premiums to a “special set aside fund” by way of a special ā€œaccounting procedure.ā€

The separate, special fund to be created by this ā€œaccounting procedureā€ would then be used by the government to subsidize or pay for abortions without technically using any Public Funds, i.e.,Ā  Americans’ tax dollars.

This is certainly an egregious loophole since it does bypass the Hyde Amendment and therefor any variantĀ  of the Stupak Amendment as well.

While public funds arenā€™t used, we are not isolating, discriminating against or invading the privacy rights of women. There would be an accounting procedure, but everybody in the exchange would do the same thing. Whether youā€™re male or female, whether youā€™re 75 or 25, you would all set aside a portion of your premium that would go into a fund, and it would not be earmarked for anything, it would be a separate account that everyone in the exchange would pay.

— HHS Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius

So now public funds would be used to pay for abortions. Instead part of the money payed by every American who purchased a health insurance policy from ObamaCare’s health insurance exchange would be required by federal law to be set aside for that subhuman, nefarious purpose.

A Graphic Reminder For Those Who Need It

Since the Liberals reign for the moment, ObamaCare will likely be forced upon American and, with it both the health insurance exchanges and Sebelius’ favorite infanticidal loophole. This is all but a certainty since they’ll do anything to achieve it.

This places Americans in a very difficult position. Since it’s not actual tax dollars being used to fund infanticide / abortion, it is technically a voluntary contribution to that Hell-born cause. Yet, if one chooses to, or is forced to, purchase health insurance from the ObamaCare exchange, one is de facto choosing to fund the deaths of 100’s of thousands of babies per year.

Would you buy health insurance the ObamaCare exchange knowing that by fiat part of your premiums will go towards the deaths of unborn children? What if you’re one of the 100+ million Americans who will be forced due to economic pressures upon their employers to either purchase health insurance the ObamaCare exchange or do without?

Fact And Fiction

In a world growing ever smaller and ever more complex society needs heroes and idols. But how much disservice does society do to itself and its idols when its idolatry is based upon fantasy? If society’s heroes are to be larger than life then they must, perforce, also be less than life since their flaws must be brushed over and hidden from society’s view.

Artistic License can go too far when society paints people as other than what they are for the sake of idolizing them
Artistic License or Forging an Idol With Feet of Clay?

Whether it’s President Obama, whose campaign of “Hope and Change” was a tabula rasa for the Leftists to paint upon as their fantasies required them to, Tiger Woods, whose persona was created to make him pleasant, benign, and suitably wholesome, or creatures such as Michael Vick and Kobe Bryant who were turned into role models for no other reason than their athletic abilities, society has always preferred to make these sorts avatars of some ideal rather than accept them as complex and flawed mortals.

Disappoint most often follows in it’s course because life and society seemed doomed to repeat the folly of long-lost Babylon’s Emperor, Nebuchadnezzar.

Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces .

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away , that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

— Daniel 2: 31-35, the Bible( KJV)

Society keeps building it idols to worship, but it builds them from flawed materials, mortal men and women. Then society is strangely outraged when their idols’ feet of clay cannot bear the burdens placed upon them and these idols become like the chaff of the summer threshing floors.
