Just Brilliant!
The Mythbusters, led by Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, have been teaching logic and critical thinking – and doing so by blowing things up! How cool is that?
Adding Explosives to Congress – Brilliant!
Adding the television series to America’s school curriculum may well be the best idea I’ve heard for real education reform in a long, long while.
Adding the techniques used by the Mythbusters to prove or debunk myths and assumptions to Congress might well save America. 😉

Wow, that is amazing. I can’t believe that the public school system would actually step up and do something that is not only educational, but something that the children will actually enjoy.

zhann,
It’s not widespread as of yet, but it’s a growing phenomenon. You can find some more details here.
Now, if we can just apply this to Congress. I’d love to see something involving Pelosi, Reid, and/or Rangel and explosives. 😉

Ha … yeah, that would be nice. At times it seems that the only true way to fix this country is to put fear into those running the country. Imagine a situation where someone in fact took out all corrupt politicians, in effect everyone, all within 24 hours or so … that would scare every future politician into at least putting in some effort to be a bit honest.
I am of the firm opinion that if a politician (or any public figure) commits a crime, the punishment should be at least 10 fold, with death being a pseudo-default. Our politicians do what they want. Most try to give the impression that they care, but some are so bad at it that it ruins it for the rest.
Anyway … thanks for the info.

Oh yes! That would be something to see and something that our founding fathers did not wholly fail to expect:
Of course the sad reality is that exterminating the politicians could only happen as part of a coup or revolution, and such events often lead to greater oppression than the government that they’ve replaced.

If more people would use logic and critical thinking – not just America, but the entire world would be a better place. Can we make this a worldwide phenomenon?

We probably cannot do so, J.D.F.; people in general aren’t wired towards using logic and critical thinking. 🙁
