Reflections From a Murky Pond

‘Tis the holiday season and, as such, why should one choose the lesser of carols to enjoy? Fortunately, thanks to the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society, you don’t have to.

And it’s not as if, in these times, any of or our children will sleep soundly with vision of sugar plums dancing in our heads. Better by far to dream of Cthulhu and his ending of all the things we’ve so foolishly created than to sweat through nightmares of all that is that we could have prevented had we had the courage and conviction.

There are so many dumb ways to die and mankind seems to make a habit of finding them. One result of this is that Melbourne Metro Trains produced a public service announcement video called “Dumb Ways to Die” as part of a campaign aimed at preventing train-related deaths in Victoria, Australia.

The song is performed by Tangerine Kitty, who are Ollie McGill from The Cat Empire and Emily Lubitz of Tinpan Orange. And yes, if you’re so inclined, you can purchase this song on iTunes.

Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) seems genetically predisposed towards garish and outlandish outfits, but this latest one may take the prize as the oddest one as of yet.

A New Outfit For Lady Gaga?

OK, OK – Just kidding. 😉 In a similar vein to Donald Trump’s rogue toupee, this is actually a Pink Underwing Moth (Phyllodes imperialis) from the Springbrook National Park in Queensland, Australia.

But who knows? If Ms. Germanotta sees this post – not a total impossibility – perhaps it’ll give her some inspiration. 😉

Mr. Rogers – The Garden Of Your Mind

Auto-tuneish or not, it’s cool and fine that PBS is doing what they can bring Mr. Rogers into the 21st century.

New York born pop star Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta aka Lady Gaga is known as both a singer and a pop-culture and style icon of sorts, especially when it comes to hats and other headgear. This might be a natural phenomenon though; she might by born this way. 😉

Indeed, her penchant for bizarre clothing, especially headgear, oft-times made from meat or other unusual materials might be a more comment trait than previously known. Ms. Germanotta isn’t even the most extreme case…

That “Hat” Is Beyond Gaga

Yep. Ms. Samantha Gardner of Chester, England is beyond Gaga when it comes to hats – but in an oddly delightful way. Then again, I love sashimi, especially tako, so I might not be the most objective viewer. 😉
