Reflections From a Murky Pond

On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 the US Supreme Court delivered a well-deserved spanking to Obama’s boy, Eric Holder. In an unanimous decision the SCOTUS informed the worthless and murderously criminal Holder – and his overseer at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. – that, despite the Obama Regime’s best efforts, the Constitution is still the highest law in the land and it includes the right of religious freedom.

In the case of Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and School v. EEOC the SCOTUS Justices rendered a blunt 9-0 ruling that the Obama Regime does not have the right or privilege to tell a religious institution who may or may not be in their clergy nor under what terms they onboard or offboard such ministers and/or priests, overruling and reversing the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals’ early decision.

The interest of society in the enforcement of employment discrimination statutes is undoubtedly important. But so too is the interest of religious groups in choosing who will preach their beliefs, teach their faith, and carry out their mission. When a minister who has been fired sues her church alleging that her termination was discriminatory, the First Amendment has struck the balance for us. The church must be free to choose those who will guide it on its way.

The judgment of the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit is reversed.

So, for now, the shades of the Founding Fathers are smiling. The Supreme Court unanimously slapped down the Obama Regime’s attempt to violate the 1st Amendment and Americans’ freedom of religion.

Right now Liberals’ and Feminists’ panties are twisting. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals just overturned the lower court’s decision to block a Texas law requiring that females seeking abortions to have a sonogram exam and to listen to a physician’s detailed description of the fetus.

US District judge Sam Sparks had previously ruled in August that it violates physicians’ free-speech rights – by what legal basis nobody knows.

In Texas, the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Texas law that mandates women seeking an abortion to have a sonogram examination and to listen to a physician’s detailed description of the fetus, including whether it has developed limbs or internal organs.

The people who support the law say it is designed to ensure that women are fully informed about abortions. More importantly, they want to discourage women from undergoing the procedure. The law, enacted last year requires all women seeking abortions to have an ultrasound scan, except for those who certify that they are rape victims. Victims of rape are permitted to avoid hearing a description of the fetus or embryo.

Texas’ law will now go into effect and it’s doubtful that anyone will successfully challenge it in the SCOTUS.

Oh yeah, Liberals and Feminists panties are twisting over this ruling. Of course, if these females had kept their panties on in the first place or showed a bit of common sense when they took them off, this issue would never have come up.

It’s, after all, a choice; women have a choice about when, how, with who, and with what protections they have sex.

Periodically there’s talk about green automobiles. Let’s be honest about the expectations for these “green automobiles” though. Insofar as the Leftists and Warmists are concerned, this is the only “green automobile”:

Nothing else or “lesser” will satisfy them. The Leftists, these Liberal and Progressive domestic enemies of America, want cars abolished or strictly controlled because they hate the liberties that individual transport provides and the Warmists are true believer of their doomsday cult who will do anything in their thankfully dwindling power to destroy the economies and industries of the Civilized World.

A while back Obama blamed technology, specifically the internet, for America’s job loss and continued unsustainable levels of unemployment.  While it’s abundantly true that, in three long years, Obama has spent most of his efforts in blaming everyone other than himself and his Liberals for America’s issues,  I’ve got to admit that he’s got a point this time.

That is what technology does. It removes the need for low-end manual effort, effort that is considered unacceptably hazardous, and effort that requires tedious repetition and accuracy.

Can you say green jobs? It’s easy; just say, “gōngzuò de” which is Chinese for “green jobs.” and it looks like China will be where those “green jobs” that Obama promised will be.

It seems that back in September 2011, the Obama-appointed heads of General Motors signed an agreement with the Chinese government to effectively move all future electric vehicle (EV) development to China. Primary production of such vehicles will also likely move to China.

America’s Liar-in-Chief, Obama strikes again.

But then almost all of these “green jobs” that Obama has touted and attacked traditional American jobs and practices over have gone to foreigners so GM’s moving their electric powertrain development to China shouldn’t come as a surprise despite Obama giving them a massive handout from the taxpayers’ coffers.
