Yes, Please! While I’m not that inspired by catnip – though I do grow it in my front garden to attract the neighborhood kitties – I’d love it if somehow I could be taken to where the girls are kitties. 😉

Nekomusume are Nekogami

PRO TIP: Don’t be that Weeb! Or, if you prefer, don’t be a Baka Minikui Gaijin! Treat those Cat Daughters (Nekomusume) like the Cat Goddesses (Nekogami) that they are. You’ll go farther that way and won’t be quite so much of a painful-to-witness embarrassment.

NOTE: The much more common term would be simply Baka Gaijin (Stupid/foolish [non-Asian] Foreigner). I chose to make the point stronger by adding Minikui (ugly in the sense of being painful to see). It also is a riff on the longstanding “Ugly American” stereotype.

Also, just as a personal note on language, idiom, and the subtle shadings of meaning and expectation, I prefer Nekomusume (Cat Daughters) over the equally or more common term, Nekomimi (Cat Ears). Both, however, are in very common use when describing Cat Girls.

We’ve Been Hear In Lock-Down For The Longest Time

Honestly, it’s good and heartening to see that some people are showing and sharing a certain level of resilience to the pestilence that is the enforced quarantine and shut-down of society in the wake of COVID-19.

But hey! They’re Canadians and Canadians seems to be possessed of a certain aplomb and fortitude in the face of this sort of adversity.

Micah Tyler aptly sums up the Millennials. These special snowflakes are the ones you’ve got to love. No, really! You’ve got to love them and shower them with accolades, supports, and attention. Otherwise, they whine, cry, rant, rave, and throw such tantrums as to take the attention that they need so much.

A brief word of warning – While the song in question is couched in the normal Christian monotheism of America, my commentary is in the framework of my faith, which is generally described as Pagan. If that’s going to be a larger issue for you than the actual meat of the commentary, there’s this thing called the Back Button. 😉

The Gods Made Girls

Not only is RaeLynn aka Racheal Lynn Woodward delectably cute and a fine singer, she’s got the right of things in “God Made Girls.” The Gods made women to complete men and men to complete women.

Maiden, Warrior, Mother, or Crone – whichever Aspect they currently evoke, the Gods made women to make men better than they’d otherwise be. That’s the crux of it that underlies any and all expressions of gender roles in the world.
