R2-DCUP?

Posted in Humor, Society on January 22nd, 2011

R2-D2In 1977 George Lucas introduced the world to the droid R2-D2, an “astromech droid” that was a major character in a six of the Star Wars films and which has become entrenched in Western popular culture.

Not bad at all for a character no no real dialog to speak of. That is a feat normally only achieved by action stars and hot babes willing to strip down for the camera.

Of course, fans being fans, they couldn’t leave well enough alone.

It was a foregone conclusion that they would come up – quite outside of canon – a product-improved model of this particular droid. Hence we now have the R2-DCUP.

R2-DCUP - She IS the droid you're looking for.
She Is The Droid You’re Looking For

The additional graphics were, however, aftermarket additions and are not available from the factory. 😉

It’s very likely, given the nature of the picture above, that there’s a very happy Star Wars fanboy out there somewhere. 😉 It’s also very likely that a much larger number of Star Wars geeks are “abusing” themselves over this picture. 😮

Note to fanboys – If it took you under 1 minute to “notice” that the 6 horizontal bars on the girl’s outfit are on the wrong side, you’re both wrong – mirror effect – and in need of serious help.

If it took you under 1 minute to “notice” that the 6 horizontal bars on the girl’s outfit are on the wrong side and to correct your thinking because you realized the mirror effect, you’re likely beyond help, will never move out of your parents’ house, and will never be in a position to directly appreciate a Geek Grrl like the one pictured above.

Seriously though, she’s quite hot but Star Wars fetish lingerie? R2-D2!?! That’s just a little messed up and I don’t even want to delve too deeply into the implications of choosing a character that couldn’t speak.

She’s Upfront About It

Posted in Humor, Society on January 20th, 2011

So many models, and women in general, feel the need to augment their breasts with silicone implants. Some are more open and honest in their advertising and marketing than others. 😉

Hey! At Least She’s “Upfront About It.”

Yeah, it’s photoshopped; she doesn’t, insofar as I know, really have the generic chemical formula for silicone tattooed on her breasts. It’s still funny, and sort of oddly erotic, though.

Astronomy Is Looking Up

Nicolaus Copernicus founded science of modern astronomy in the 16th century. Since that time the science has been the abode of hoary old men and few women who preferred, or were resigned to, long lonely nights upon mountain tops. It was never known for its “hot chicks” or for much in the way of intrusion upon “pop culture.”

Fortunately, this just might be changing. 😉

Geek Grrls, they’re not just saving science; they’re making it hot and embedding it in both their skin and American popular culture.

Why Liberals Love Chavez

Posted in Politics on January 17th, 2011

Hugo Chavez - The Venezuelan Howler Monkey - A tin pot socialist dictator with delusion of being a manOne common trend among America’s Leftist domestic enemies, the Liberals and Progressives is their unwavering love for the Venezuelan Socialist Dictator Hugo Chavez.

It’s easy to write this off as the Liberals just, once again, siding with America’s foreign enemies. I think though that recent events have pointed out the flaw in this all-too-easy assumption.

The Liberals and Progressives love this howler monkey with delusion of being a man because he does what they wish their leaders could and would do.

Few had heard of Afiuni until 10 December 2009 when she granted bail to Eligio Cedeño, a banker charged with evading currency controls. He had been in jail for almost three years without trial, exceeding legal limits. He fled and is now in the US seeking asylum.

Chávez, who had taken a close interest in the case, was furious. He went on TV the day after the release and said Afiuni was a “bandit” who took a bribe. “This judge should get the maximum penalty … 30 years in prison! That judge has to pay for what she has done.”

He told the head of the supreme court that the case should be treated with “firmness”. Afiuni was charged with corruption and abuse of power. In May prosecutors said they had found no evidence of illicit payments but accused the judge of “spiritual corruption”. There is no trial date.

That’s right; Judge Afiuni granted a banker bail – not dismissal of charges, just bail – after he’d been imprisoned for nearly three years without trial and the vermin, Chavez’ response was to have the judge summarily imprisoned for 30 years.

Such powers and actions are exactly what the Leftists within America’s borders crave for and from their leaders. They would love it if Obama did something similar to what Chavez has done – as long as it furthered their class warfare against the productive American society.

Remember and know that, while our domestic enemies rant and rail about “illegal detentions” and GitMo, they would have no such qualms about Obama doing the same thing to the bankers and leaders of Wall Street and would be beyond merely happy if Obama fired or imprisoned any federal judge who did not arranged for these people’s incarceration.

The filth, Hugo Chavez has been, so far, a quite successful Socialist tyrant.  That’s why Liberals love him so.

Powhatan Fritatta

Posted in Recipes on January 16th, 2011

Few things are more delicious and decadent for breakfast or brunch than the combination of crab and eggs.

While I’ve called this recipe for a crab and corn fritatta a Powhatan Fritatta in homage to the ancient Native American tribe of the Chesapeake Bay region, they would not have had a dish similar to this. It does, however, showcase some of their favorite ingredients: crab and corn.

Powhatan Fritatta is rich and decadent, with a nice mix of sweetness from the crab and corn and piquancy from the Old Bay Seasoning - definitely the makings of a luscious weekend breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 8 oz crab meat
  • ½ cup corn kernels
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup shredded mild, white cheese (Monterey Jack, Havarti, Queso Fresco, or Fontina)
  • ¾ teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Sauté the onion in butter the onion and garlic until the onion is just clear. Add the crab meat, corn kernels and ⅓ (1/4 teaspoon) of the Old Bay Seasoning. Stir gently until combined and let cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  3. In a bowl whisk together the 4 eggs, 2 eggs, milk, and cream. Stir in the cheese, ¼ teaspoon of Old Bay Seasoning, and crab mixture.
  4. Pour all into a lightly greased pie pan. Top with remaining ¼ teaspoon of Old Bay Seasoning and freshly ground pepper and salt to taste.
  5. Bake until a knife inserted into the center of the frittata comes out clean, approximately 30 minutes.
Notes
Blue crab is the most "traditional" crab to use in this recipe but dungeness, king, or snow crab will work equally well. Use what you have available. You need the equivalent of 4 large eggs for this dish, but can easily replace any number of them with the appropriate amount of egg whites. You need ½ cup of dairy for this dish, but can adjust the fat content and richness of the dish by adjusting the proportions of milk and heavy cream. It can even be made with solely a ½ cup of skim milk. For an interesting variation replace the normal corn kernels with roasted whole kernel corn. It will lend a pleasant smokiness to the dish. For this I use Trader Joe's Roasted Corn rather than roasting my own.
