I love and laugh at this, though I’m fully cognizant of how few people will understand why I find this funny, or why in the world I titled it “Vintage Japanese Prison Porn.”

So, let me explicate…

Why Vintage Japanese Prison Porn

• The art style is a fusion of Western Cartoon and Japanese Ukiyo-e, which also influenced Western art;
• She’s obviously a high-ranking Yakuza, probably an oyabun, given her level of tattooing;
• The origin of Yakuzas’ tattooing is from 17th-19th Centuries Japanese practice of irezumi kei (tattoo penalty), where criminals were tattooed as part of their punishment;
• She’s tied up Shibari or Kinabku style – you pendants can argue about which term is right – which was derived from Hojōjutsu, a method of restraining, torturing, and displaying prisoners in feudal Japan.

So, there you have it – why my humor and snark was engaged by this image and why I’ve titled it here as “Vintage Japanese Prison Porn.” 😉

Here’s an odd bit of humor. I’m still occasionally hearing the term, Granny Panties. But that’s a bit of – actually more than a bit of – a misnomer. Nowadays, those aren’t granny panties; they’re great-granny panties or even great-great-granny panties. 😛

Yeah, just to make the point clear, thongs started in the 1970s as swimsuits and became popular in the 1980s as underwear. Hence, it was younger Boomers and Gen X that first adopted them. So, for the younger generations, granny panties look more like this:

That’s right, Kiddos. Your grandmothers wore french cuts, brazilians, and thongs as a normal thing. She didn’t wear what are still called granny panties except on rare occasions. 😆

Women have changed a lot over the years, especially between the 1970s and the 2000s. Some of it has been actual progress, though not much of it. But, in these times, the changes have gone strange and destructive. Actually even more destructive than most realize, since the current trend is essentially saying that any failure as man can choose to declare themselves to be a woman instead as a lesser, fallback position.

It’s taken 4 long, brutal, soul-deadening years, but COVID is finally over. Oh, not the Coronavirus itself; we’ll be having mostly less lethal variants of that for however long Humanity lasts. But, what’s over is the Panicdemic, despite the occasional desperate and increasingly febrile jabberings of certain sorts.

A couple of months ago Biden’s CDC has ended it’s COVID-19 specific recommendations and guidelines, rolling COVID into the general Respiratory Illnesses Guidelines and relaxing their “guidance” on isolation, testing, and vaccine use. And, they did this because it was no longer politically viable for them to keep the panicdemic alive any longer.

COVID Is Finally Over

So, barring some last ditch, desperate attempt to change the voting metrics in the upcoming 2024 elections – somewhat unlikely, but certainly possible – the whole COVID crap is finally over. And, quite sadly, that means the Corona Cuties are pretty much over too, fading into history alongside the debacle that created them.

Ah well. With the start of the pandemic and its surrounding, manufactured panicdemic we had to take the good with the bad, and now with its ending we have to let go of the good along with bad.
