Reflections From a Murky Pond

I’ve modified my Google Adsense ads to clean up Reflections From A Murky Pond’s sidebars and to optimize the ad placements and numbers a bit better.

Please let me know if you think the new format is better or worse than the old one.

I’ve updated Reflections From A Murky Pond to WordPress 2.3.2.

Version 2.3.2 is a bug-fix and security release. I highly recommend it to any and all WordPress users.

Hello All!

I’ve added some minor enhancements to Reflections From A Murky Pond. These modifications are:

• Added a Recent Comments Sidebar Widget using Krischan Jodies‘ Get Recent Comments plugin. It’s fully Gravatar enabled so – once again – if you haven’t gotten a Gravatar (Globally Recognized Avatar) you should consider doing so.

• Added Social Bookmarking features with icons to each post via Robert Tsai’s Slashdigglicious social bookmarking plugin.

• Added a Subscribe function to the right hand sidebar. It utilizes Feedburner to allow users to subscribe to Reflections From A Murky Pond via RSS readers or via Email.

Reflections From a Murky Pond has been updated to use the new WordPress 2.3 codebase. I’ve also updated all the plugins used by the site to the current supported versions. If you notice any problems or changes in the blog’s behavior please leave a comment describing the issue.

FYI,

I’ve modified Reflections From a Murky Pond. I had originally based the blog’s layout on Giuliano Gerardi‘s Nebula 1.2 theme, but decided that I wanted a more text based layout. I changed the blog to a heavily modified version of Hakan Aydin‘s 3 Column Black Letterhead theme.

I also modified the the Comments to use Gravatars so that there’d be profile images for each comment. If you don’t have a Gravatar, you might want to consider setting up a free account.
