Reflections From a Murky Pond

Yes, after years of incessant accusations, lamentations, and general Histrionical screeds from the Democrats that the Russians “meddled” in our elections, they’ve finally declared that America’s election process is safe and secure. 🙄

I would describe this as “results-based” security practices. If the Democrats don’t get the election results that they want, it’s due to foreign malfeasance and Republicans colluding with those foreign powers. If, however, the Democrats get the results that they do want, then the elections were safe and secure, and any complaints to the contrary are a “threat to democracy.”

The most fundamental and lasting lessons a child learns are those which were never deliberately taught them or added to a curriculum. That’s why teaching weakness is such a grave sin against them and our nation.

And that’s what our public school systems are doing, whether they intend to do so or not. While the pic shown above is more than a little “anvilicious,” and I certainly don’t advocate keeping schools open when it’s actually dangerous to try to reach them, it does show the degeneration of the system into cowardice and weakness.

What the children actually learn is that any form of hardship and any form of risk is firm ground for not trying. They learn to expect things to be easy and to not attempt that which is hard or uncomfortable. They learn to be weak.

After over 4 years of trying to prevent Donald Trump from taking the Presidency, and then trying everything and anything to remove him from office, the Dems are now calling for unity and broad support for the likely-to-be incoming Biden-Harris regime.

Well, except that they’re demanding conformity, not requesting unity. Not that unity is something that they could ever achieve, even among their own. One need only ask Ocasio-Cortez or ask Democrat politicians about her to see the stark disunity among them.

But yet, even with chaos and discord among their own cabals, there’s plenty of talk about Democrats compiling lists of Americans and American companies to be “held accountable” for supporting President Trump. It’s even made international news due to the threat to democracy it poses.

Ironic, isn’t it, that the first things Dems do after claiming that President Trump was a threat to democracy, is to take pages from Franco, Stalin, and Hoffa’s playbooks?

Now, truth be bluntly told, I’d normally ignore the Dems’ rants in this. Bombast and threats of reprisals are normal for those who think, after a struggle, that they are the victors. But, as thing are, with: #BlackLivesMatter, #Antifa, #CancelCulture, and the various forms of violence they’ve perpetrated against Americans, I don’t believe this threat can be downplayed or ignored.

Despite the rejection and dejection of approximately half of the US population, there are some who are celebrating President Trump’s loss and the installation of Creepy Uncle Joe Biden as POTUS, with Kamala Harris as his VP.

Domestically, #Antifa and to a lesser extent #BlackLivesMatter – Biden is a White, and I doubt they trust Harris – are cheering. They know that this marks the end of any federal level curtailment of their riots and insurrections and the re-instigation of federal “scrutiny” of local law enforcement.

On the global front, China and Iran are likely celebrating Biden’s upcoming presidency. Biden is both weak-minded and a devotee of a timid application of the old status quo of foreign policy. This will allow China to grow in power and influence. And Iran most likely looks forward to both a more conciliatory US stance towards them as well as a weakening, if not outright curtailing, of the Abraham Accords.

So, while Americans find the situation sad, our enemies, both foreign and domestic are shouting “Hip Hip Hooray!”

Bikini Interlude – Wildkinis

Yes; I will make no bones about it. I am this old. I grew up watching the television releases of the “Beach Party” movies featuring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon, including what is officially the 6th of 7 movies in the series, How to Stuff a Wild Bikini. However, being that last to feature Ms. Funicello and Mr. Avalon, I consider it the swan song of the series.

Still, those halcyon days may be long over, but Wildkinis are still around and still well-stuffed; so there’s that going for us all.
