Admitting Immorality

Posted in Ethics & Morality, Politics, Religion, Society on October 28th, 2013

Moral Law“You can’t legislate morality” is one of the common refrains from Liberals and Progressives whenever they are faced with actual or proposed laws that would govern and place limits upon people’s behavior. Any time that Americans try to enforce and/or reinforce normative societal values the Leftists start screaming and raving about the separation of Church and State and that America’s de facto Christian ethos must not be enforced.

This demand of the Liberals and Progressives is beyond ridiculous and is patently false. Not only can you legislate morality but you must if you’re to have even a vestige of a hope for a functioning, civilized society. This means that whenever the Liberals and Progressives rant about legislating morality they’re actually admitting their own immorality since they cannot abide by these moral strictures.

Moral Law

Frankly, the vast majority of civil laws, and all the truly important ones, in America are based largely or solely on moral law and, as well, upon Jude-Christian religious law.

  • Slavery – The prohibition against chattel slavery is solely based upon morality.  It has no component that isn’t a legislation of morality.
  • Murder – The prohibition against killing another person is largely, though not wholly, based upon morality. It is also a core tenet of Christianity.
  • Rape – Treating rape as a crime largely, though not wholly, based upon morality. Treating it as as serious of a crime as we do is solely based upon morality.
  • Civil Rights Laws – The whole of civil rights legislation is almost entirely composed of the legislation of morality and has little or no basis for existence beyond that of what is Right and Wrong.

The list could go on, and on, and on ad infinitum et nauseam, with each consecutive point further illuminating rank stupidity of ever claiming that one can’t and shouldn’t legislate morality.

Consensus Morality

One of the arguments that the Leftist apologists will use when faced with incontrovertible fact that the majority of laws are either wholly moral law or, at the very least, carry an implicit moral component is that America must only legislate morality within the context of an irreligious consensus morality. By that, of course, they mean that only those moral laws that can be agreed to by non-Christians can ever be considered valid and that anything that coincides with- or abides by the Judeo-Christian morality is inherently suspect and must be subject to strict scrutiny.

Leaving aside the anti-Theist in general and anti-Christian in specific bigotry and bias in this viewpoint, it’s also factually as ridiculous and patently false as their base claim that you can’t legislate morality. There is, by and large, no consensus morality, especially if one includes the views of non-Theists.

  • Slavery – This is as close as we come to a true consensus morality enacted into law. Still there are a significant, and I’ll hazard growing, number of people who do not find explicit chattel slavery to be morally repugnant. There’s an even larger number that have no problems whatsoever with “softer” and more implicit forms of slavery as the dependence upon illegal immigrant labor clearly shows.
  • Murder – There’s no moral consensus whatsoever on what even constitutes murder as opposed to a justified killing or it being a killing that isn’t quite wrong enough to be called murder.
  • Rape – In no way, shape, or form is there consensus morality concerning rape as a crime.  We can’t even decide what the borderline is between consensual and non-consensual sex. Nor can we reach consensus on who can rape and who can be raped. Lastly, we’re nowhere near reaching a consensus upon grievousness of the crime.
  • Civil Rights Laws – There’s little or no consensus on the plethora of civil rights laws in the US and what consensus there was is rapidly falling apart as more and more Americans find the various laws to be both out-dated and morally repugnant.

The above are just a very small sample set of the significant laws in America that Liberals and Progressives falsely or wrongly claim that are supported by- and serve an objective, non-religious moral consensus.

Their Morality, Not Ours

Of course these same Liberals and Progressives have no qualms about legislating their own brand of morality. That’s all that there various calls for “fairness” and equality of personal results are after all – calls to legislate their morality.

This is why these Liberals and Progressives are immoral instead of amoral. They have a moral compass; it just points towards a completely different “North” than that of normative Americans.

The Auto-da-fé Continues

Posted in Politics, Religion, Society on October 13th, 2013

Never believe, even for instant, that the Inquisition ever ended or that the “faithful” have ever ceased clamoring for the auto-da-fé to be performed by heretics and apostates before their destruction. All that has changed is the “church” and “faithful” in question and nature of the heresies and apostasies to be rooted out and condemned.

Zichy Mihály's Auto-da-fé
Zichy Mihály’s Auto-da-fé

Long ago it was the Catholic Church protecting itself and it’s doctrine via the Inquisition. In these times it’s the Politically Correct Liberals and Progressives who carry out the Inquisition and demand the auto-da-fé to enforce societal conformity and promulgate their claims of the orthodoxy of their doctrine.

One need only watch the viciousness and pageantry of their assaults upon anyone, especially any “celebrity” or public figure who does not maintain and spout their dogma about the special state of “grace” of: queers, abortion, women’s proper place in society, and/or the specially protected minority groups in order to see this as being cold, hard fact. These Leftists do not tolerate such heresies and are both quick and strident in their calls for their victim to profess his or her faith and failing before they destroy them as utterly as they are capable of doing.

If the above isn’t enough to prove that the Politically Correct Liberals’ and Progressives’ conduct the inquisition against heretics, look at how they respond to any Black that commits apostasy and actually speaks out for America and against the failures and destructive behaviors of the “Black Community.” And, as well, look at how they encourage the “Faithful” Blacks to treat these apostates.

No! Do not mistake this for a mere political opinion and “strong and vigorous debate” upon the cultural and ethical future of America.  This is a religious matter and, given the actions of the Left, it is both a civil war and a holy war. We, the People of America must understand this and act accordingly unless we, one by one, suffer the Liberals’ and Progressives’ inquisition and be forced to commit the auto-da-fé ourselves.

The auto-da-fé continues and it is up to the American people to drive it and its perpetrators from our land.

The Unaccountable Ones

Posted in Politics, Religion on October 6th, 2013

The idea that people’s rulers should be served and given leave to rule is ancient. It’s even biblical.

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Hebrews 13:17, the Bible( KJV)

But what if, as Americans have found in these latter, lesser days, our titular leaders are neither held accountable nor feel in any way that they are so or should even be so? What now? Should we obey them and/or submit ourselves to them and their agendas when it has become clear that they: do not watch for our souls; do not believe that they must give account to either us or the God(s); and do not, in the case of 53% of us, care what is unprofitable for us?

Obama - I Am God

Some would say that we, the People should pray for these would-be rulers of our land.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

1 Timothy 2:1-2, the Bible( KJV)

Others would say that a quiet and peaceable life is not worth the cost in godliness and honesty that must accrue – a black debt upon our souls – by lending even spiritual aid and comfort to those who have reneged upon and defiled the covenant they were sworn to abide by. These too, however, often believe in prayer as the solution, though I find this lacking and vaguely theologically offensive.

Personally, I cannot help but belief that, upon our respective deaths, we shall go before our God(s) for judgement and they will task us sorely for not taking it upon our own heads and hands to deal with these unaccountable ones.

No! We must hold these would-be tyrants accountable for this failures and malicious misdeeds. The only questions of merit are what forms and within what limits, if any at all, our reprisals should take.

Abused Goddesses

Posted in Religion, Society on September 9th, 2013

Pranav Bhide of ad the agency Taproot has created a series of pictures depicting the Hindu Goddesses: Lakshmi (लक्ष्मी), Saraswati (सरस्वती), and Durga (दुर्गा) as victims of domestic violence to benefit Save Our Sisters, an recent anti-domestic violence initiative of Save The Children India which focuses on prevention and repatriation of sexually trafficked women and children in India.

Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Durga – Abused Goddesses

Each of the three ads is accompanied by the same text:

Pray that we never see this day. Today more than 68% of women in India are victims of domestic violence. Tomorrow it seems like no woman shall be spared. Not even the ones we pray too.

Taproot’s campaign was created by blending traditional hand-painted Indian art with modern-day photography using real models and has won multiple awards at different ad festivals.

If you’re Pagan, these ads will be eye-catching and a bit disturbing. For Hindu’s their blatantly shocking. Lakshmi who Hindus once beseeched on bended knee for good fortune now sits sad-eyed on a lotus with a bloodied nose. Saraswati’s infinite wisdom and knowledge were no defense against a black-eye. Durga, who once danced upon the demon (Asura) Mahishasura’s corpse now stands bruised, battered and teary-eyed, begging for our protection.

The images of Lakshmi and Saraswati are directly analogous to depicting the Blessed Mother Mary as beaten and bloodied. The image of Durga is a bit different because Durga is a Goddess of War and the defender of Heaven (Svarga). Showing Her as beaten and cowed is an implication that Heaven itself has been beaten and conquered by the growing violence against women in India.

That’s, however, a somewhat problematically mixed message. It may shock and shame men, which was its intent, but it also undermines the Indian women’s religious images of feminine authority by reducing three of their major goddesses to victims and stripping them of their awesome and often perilous divine power.

This may also be an indicator of how far the sad and shameful “domestication” of the Hindu Gods and Goddesses has gone in Post-Colonial India.

In Indian schools the now they tell children that when Shiva killed his wife Parvarti’s son, Ganesha she cried. They blatantly ignore that she also made ready to destroy the entire universe in her grief and rage and relented only when Shiva agreed to resurrect her son and make him a God.

At least Taproot was wise enough no to attempt to depict the Samrajni Kali Ma (काळी) as a victim of any form of violence, especially domestic violence.

Samrajni Kali Ma

It would be foolish to attempt to paint Kali as some form of abused Bhartiya Naari (“Traditional Indian Woman”). Nobody would believe or countenance that Kali, who sprung from Durga’s forehead and was made by Her rage and frustration at not being able to defeat the demon general Raktabija and his army could ever be a victim.

Of course, a follow-up campaign showing the possible repercussions of domestic violence against women in India featuring the Samrajni Kali Ma might be a powerful message…

Miley Has Converted

Posted in Humor, Music, Religion on August 30th, 2013

Miley Cyrus has recently been trying very, very hard to prove that she’s come a long way from Disney’s Hannah Montana. Frankly, she’s seems to be going all out to shock and offend the American people.

And now she’s found what is possibly the best way of doing this. She’s obviously converted to Islam.

Miley's giving thanks and praise - and her holes - to AllahMiley Cyrus Is Giving Thanks and Praise to Allah

Like much of Miley’s recent behavior, this was an odd choice. She’s far older than Islam prefers its women, which was, I thought, the purpose of her various escapades…
