Portrait Of Idiocy

Posted in Politics on December 14th, 2011

What is most amazing about the rabble of the OWS mobs is the o’erweening arrogance of them combined with their self-absorption, histrionics, and delusions of worth.

Portrait Of An Idiot - OWS at its self-absorbed, histrionic finest
But You Can And Must Evict Criminal Squatters & Insurgents

The image of this particular would-be insurgent sums up the attitude perfectly. It’s truly a portrait of idiocy.

Only this particular sort of over-indulged slacker would hoist a sign like that, as if ensuring that basic peacekeeping and the law were followed somehow stripped him and his ilk of their voice.

But then, the Occupations have never truly been protests. They’ve been attacks on the financial infrastructure of America, though largely ineffectual ones to-date.

Break Or Raise?

Posted in Politics on December 14th, 2011

Obama - StalinObama had claimed that America was at a “make or break” moment for the middle class when it came to his plan to extend and increase the payroll tax breaks of last year. This is all well and good in the short-term, though it further beggars Social Security in the long run if the resultant revenue shortfall isn’t made up for.

Extending and deepening these “middle class tax cuts” wasn’t even a particularly contentious issue. The congressional Republicans quickly agreed that not extending these cuts was economically contraindicated at this exact time.

So the GOP-led House drafted a bill to extend the payroll tax breaks, additional limited unemployment benefits, and a continuation of full payments to doctors who treat Medicare patients – essentially everything that Obama had claimed he wanted and that the middle class needed.

Obama’s , his handlers’, and his sycophants’ response was to have a tantrum because funding for the measure did not come from taking further wealth away from higher income Americans. It was solely funded through a freeze on spending for federal salaries.

This debate should not be about scoring political points. This debate should be about cutting taxes for the middle class.

If the President were presented with H.R. 3630, he would veto the bill.

Statement Of Administration Policy

It seems that the extension of the payroll tax cuts for the middle class are only vital and necessary if they’re paid for by increasing the amount of money taken from wealthier Americans and that wealth redistribution is the avowed administrative policy of the Obama Regime.

I Celebrate Christmas

Coca-Cola's Iconic Santa ClausI’m Pagan and I celebrate Christmas. I also celebrate Yule. To my mind there’s no inherent conflict in this. Yule is my religious holiday and Christmas is my American holiday and is largely secular in nature.

Perhaps this should be of some concern to Christians, a wee bit more so than arguments about “Happy Holidays” vs. “Merry Christmas.”

After all, the customs, trappings, and imagery of an American Christmas: Santa, Frosty The Snow Man, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Christmas Trees and decorations, and so very many others have nothing to do with Missa Christi aka Crīstesmæsse aka Christ’s Mass.

I think that “the war on Christmas” is one that Christians have already largely lost and that the current trend towards anti-theism and anti-Christianity is just a mopping up operation, the Christians, by and large, having already ceded the field.

SCOTUS To Hear SB 1070

Posted in Politics on December 13th, 2011

Over what were likely alternately strident and petulant objections from the Obama Regime the SCOTUS has agreed to hear Arizona’s appeal of a lower federal court’s blocking of key provisions of AZ’s Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act (SB 1070).

Worse for Obama and his handlers, his hand puppet Justice Elena Kagan has been forced to recuse herself due to her having been involved in the administration’s initial legal opposition to the law as Obama’s solicitor general.

Given that the SCOTUS is also currently hearing the Obama Regime’s continued appeals against Arizona’s 2007 Legal Arizona Workers Act and is expected to uphold a lower court’s ruling in favor of Arizona, things are not looking well for Obama, his handlers, and the illegal immigrants whose legal relatives they’re pandering to.

Newt Speaks Sooth

Love him or loath him – and there’s plenty of reasons for the latter – one has to admit that Newt Gingrich has never been one to shy away of telling it as he sees it to be.

As an American I am not so shocked that Obama was given The Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, because America gave him the White House based on the same credentials.

— Newt Gingrich

And he often speaks sooth when he does so – not always by any means, but certainly often enough to be listened to and for his words to be considered.

That, by itself, makes Mr. Gingrich an interesting and somewhat compelling contender for he GOP nomination and for the Presidency. Now, if only he wasn’t so erratic
