Reflections From a Murky Pond

There is this odd and self-serving myth be perpetuated in American politics and society. It’s called the Democratic Coalition – a supposed army of Left-of-Center activists, agitators, and politicians unified under the banner of the Democratic Party in their purpose to weaken and destroy Conservatism and reshape America into a new nation adhering to a Liberal / Progressive ideology.

Sadly for these Leftists – but happily for America and Americans – this is a myth, a falsity based upon willful ignorance and delusion. There is no unity of purpose within the ranks of the Liberals.

The late columnist, Bill Vaughan summed it up very well; the very nature of the Left, inherently to-date counter cultural in outlook, prevents them from building a true coalition within their ranks. Even now, a little more than a year after achieving historically unprecedented power, they’re falling apart and beginning the descent into sectarian squabbling.

This is something that we should always remember and capitalize upon when and where we’re able.

Both as individuals and as societies we seem very concerned with ourselves and our importance. Each crisis is of horrific magnitude because it impacts us and the world we’ve created with our perceptions and imagining to surround us.

At times it is beneficial to be given a reminder – hopefully a gentle one – that much of this is illusory, and what isn’t, is likely transitory. The universe will continue its stately precession to oblivion long after we and everyone we ever loved or hated has long since died and been forgotten.

While humbling, this should also be a source of comfort for us. True, all of our efforts will eventually come to naught and be erased from the fabric of the universe by the erosion of time. Yet, so too will the effects of the efforts of our enemies and the consequences of our failures fade away, leaving not a trace of themselves upon the universe.

The Liberals trying to rule Congress and spread their version of Statism across America are set to commit “suicide by electorate.” Few of them will survive the 2010 Congressional mid-term elections because of how they’ve willfully chosen to ignore and disrespect we, the People on the matter of healthcare reform.

They should be assured that no American will miss them or mourn their passing from power – or life.

The House and Senate separately drafted hyper-partisan bills loaded down with kick-backs and bribes, mostly via committees and behind closed doors; in the wake of Sen. Scott Brown’s (R-MA) election they opted to misuse the Budget Reconciliation process aka “The Nuclear Option” to pass the legislation in the Senate with a mere 51 votes; finally, Pelosi and Louis Slaughter have chosen to “deem and pass” the bill in the House in order to avoid a floor vote upon it.

While none of what the Democrats, led by such Liberal extremists as Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and President Obama, have done involving their plans to reconstruct the healthcare provisioning methods of America – functionally, if not explicitly, taking over 1/6 of the country’s economy in the process – is explicitly illegal or unconstitutional, most of what they’ve done is directly contrary to will and desires of the American people.

These Democrats will pay a suitably horrific price for their ill-conceived and pernicious actions and their failure to abide by the wishes of the American people. They will no longer be able to govern the nation, and they know it.

President Obama: Then You Can’t Govern

President Obama was right in asserting that, if they try to pass any major and invasive legislation such as ObamaCare by a 50 + 1 majority, neither he nor his Liberals in Congress will be able to govern the nation. Yet he and they no longer seem to care about that or about the American people who they obviously hold in contempt.

However, this turn of event was boldly foreshadowed many months ago; it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. This has always been about them and their power of the People; never for a single moment was it about what we wanted or felt we needed.

Since it has been plainly shown to the American people that neither Congress nor the President serves the People any longer and seeks instead to rule over us – for our own good, of course – we are looking at both a Dead Congress and Dead President Walking.

Assuming drastic measures aren’t taken by either the People or Obama’s regime before that time, The 2010 elections will be a proverbial bloodbath for the Democrats and the 2012 Presidential election will be the proverbial death knell for Barack Obama.

We will just have to hope that it isn’t by that time too late for our country.

Keep your eyes open. Travel light but load heavy, and always put another round in the enemy after they’re down.  😉

The Rapture is an eschatological event during which Jesus Christ returns to Earth for His Church and believers and takes them up to Heaven where they will rejoin their dead loved ones and live forever in their resurrected bodies beside their Lord.

So very many Christians, especially the Evangelical sects, believe that we are in the End Days and that the Rapture will soon come about. They await being lifted up into Heaven by their Lord, Jesus with anticipation and joy.

What if they’re waiting in vain? Not because they were wrong in their beliefs and that the Rapture would never happen, but because it had already happened and they weren’t number among the tiny handful of people on Earth who weren’t so steeped in sin as to be disqualified and doomed to eternal damnation.

Really! Look at the full criteria for boarding that final flight. What are we really talking about? 50 people? 40 people? 30 people? 20 people? Perhaps as few as 10 rising up in salvation into the heavens? Who’d notice it or believe the accounts of anyone who did?

Yeah, that’d be a pisser wouldn’t it? 😉

So what can President Obama and Nancy Pelosi do when they’re hell-bent on having the US Federal Government effectively takeover 16% of the American economy –  i.e., the healthcare provisioning industry – and they just don’t have the votes in the House of Representatives needed to do so?

They can try to change the rules!

Since there’s little thought that Pelosi can get enough support to win a House floor vote on the Senate’s version of ObamaCare, Pelosi has approached her staunch ally and sycophant, Chairwoman of the House Rules Committee Louise Slaughter (D-NY) to have to rules changed so that she can pass the bill without it being voted upon.

Would House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her fellow House Democratic leaders try to cram the Senate version of Obamacare through the House without actually having a recorded vote on the bill?

Not only is the answer yes, they would, they have figured out a way to do it, according to National Journal’s Congress Daily:

“House Rules Chairwoman Louise Slaughter is prepping to help usher the healthcare overhaul through the House and potentially avoid a direct vote on the Senate overhaul bill, the chairwoman said Tuesday.

“Slaughter is weighing preparing a rule that would consider the Senate bill passed once the House approves a corrections bill that would make changes to the Senate version.

“Slaughter has not taken the plan to Speaker Pelosi as Democrats await CBO scores on the corrections bill. ‘Once the CBO gives us the score, we’ll spring right on it,’ she said.”

Each bill that comes before the House for a vote on final passage must be given a rule that determines things like whether the minority would be able to offer amendments to it from the floor.

In the Slaughter Solution, the rule would declare that the House “deems” the Senate version of Obamacare to have been passed by the House. House members would still have to vote on whether to accept the rule, but they would then be able to say they only voted for a rule, not for the bill itself.

Pelosi and her cabal of treasonous Liberals will “deem” the Senate’s ObamaCare bill to have passed? If they’re fool enough to do this, then they will from that point forward no longer be able to govern the American people assuming that they’re allowed to continue to try to do so.

Governments have toppled and more than one would-be tyrant has been exterminated for less egregious seeming violations of countries’ constitutions, charters, and laws.

Don’t think it couldn’t happen in America as well. And don’t for a minute believe that any American would mourn these filth’s deaths. We would, however, hate the disruption to our lives and the potential fallout from such a course of events.  So it would be better were this to be avoided.

And why do Obama, Pelosi, Slaughter, and their ilk want to pass the Senate’s version of ObamaCare without a vote and, instead, use this corruption of the rules to enable a two-for-one deal on it where the Representatives can merely vote on accepting the rule instead of actually voting on the bill? It is because this is the only way that the House Speaker has any real hope of getting the 216 votes she needs to get the Senate bill through the House.

No House Democrat who’s defending his or her seat in the November 2010 Congressional mid-term elections wants to risk voting in favor of the Senate’s bill and then trusting to the planned reconciliation process to make it more palatable. They know that, if they do so directly, their constituents will most likely remove them from office. In other words, they know that the majority of we, the People do not want this legislation.

Obama, Pelosi, Slaughter, and their toadies just hop that they can convince these Congressmen that they can hide behind this piece of sophistry and say that they only voted for a rule, not for the bill itself.

Sadly, there are no legal means by which we can stop this from happening. It will, one way or another, be long over before the November elections and Pelosi and her supporters in the House have already proven that they will not listen to will of the People in this or any other matter, so phone calls, emails, and letters would be a fruitless waste of time and energy.

All that we can legally do is to enact our retribution upon them in the upcoming elections. So keep close track of who voted in favor of the Slaughter Solution and make sure that they and theirs reap the “rewards” of their choice.
