Reflections From a Murky Pond

Yeah, some mornings – especially Monday mornings it seems – are like that. We all need – or, at least I do – some hellishly strong coffee in order to function in a manner that is safe for both myself and anyone around me. 😉

Coffee To Wake, Coffee To Rise, More To Make Me Smile

But … While coffee is quite enough to invoke my presence in the morning and to wake me up in a manner conducive to civilization, it does take more than that most times to bring me to both full consciousnesses and put me in a more pleasant mood at the start of the day.

Of course, the one of my women who is something of a morning person in that she wakes up even earlier than I do, knows the proper rituals and rights to summon me to the waking world. 😉 So, in that I am one lucky devil. 😆

Yeah, that’s me. I drink a pot or two – at least – of coffee every day. Indeed, the ubiquitousness of coffee in my diet is why I almost forgot to celebrate America’s National Coffee Day last Thursday. I do, after all, celebrate it 365 days a year. 😉

It’s International Coffee Day

But today is International Coffee Day! So rise, shine, brew up and enjoy a hot mug of java, and celebrate the beauty that is a cup of coffee.

Hey! It’s National Coffee Day here in the US! So, perk up and celebrate this most invigorating of “holidays.”

Gondor and all of the West are bloody well lucky that they didn’t have anything even close to being similar to modern Liberals and Progressives. If they had, Gondor would have fallen and there would have been the equivalent of the cover depicted above.

They’d have been rioting all over Minas Tirith, screaming, “#OrclivesMatter! End Numenorian Privilege! Rohirrim are Racist!” It’d have been a mess and would likely have ended with Sauron ruling Middle Earth.

Here in NYC we got a couple of feet of snow over the last day or so but the city seems to have weathered it well. I’ve got to admit though that looking out at all the snow shoveling that has be done now makes me turn straight to a hot mug or three of coffee first.

Cold Morning, Hot Coffee

Oh, and yes; the hottest and most invigorating cup of coffee on a cold Winter morning like today isn’t necessarily the one you’re drinking. A hot blonde babe like this could perk me – and my wives – right up in the morning, coffee or not. 😛
