I happen to disagree with her. Insofar as I can see, statism is the chosen methodology of the Liberals and Progressives, not the goal. A giant, all-encompassing, intrusive government is merely, to them, a necessary means to an end.

There goal is to have a “state” without national identity, pride, or identifiable culture where all of the people’s sundry needs and most desires are either fulfilled or guaranteed by the government. They wish to bring about an egalitarian Utopia where merit and circumstance have no bearing upon one’s material success.

Statism, despite Rand’s assertion, is just the only means by which the Leftists believe they can bring about this unnatural state of being. They simple need a despotic central force to enact and maintain their fantasy of a neo-Socialist, fully managed society.

An Honest Man With A Higher Purpose Is Terrifying To Some

Fortunately, Americans have exercised some of the means at their disposal to instill the needed fear in the political elite. They banded together as the TEA Parties and elected representatives to Congress who were of strong purpose and character.

In the degenerate system that America’s federal government has devolved into, honest and patriotic men an women who have chosen to shoulder the burden of providing correction to that system and who are willing to disregard the personal cost to themselves for doing so are an acute source of fear for all the professional politicians who are heavily invested, often literally, in maintaining the current broken status quo.

Nothing scares professional politicians more than actual statesmen, and nothing scares the Liberals and Progressives more than American statesmen, even though they whine and rant when their own sort don’t behave similarly.

It is certainly, without a doubt, a book that every White should read in order to help dispel the Liberals' long perpetuated myths about race relations in America and how their policies have affected it.

While nowhere near Sowell's first publication, A Man Of Letters is a particularly great starting point for reading Sowell's extensive body of work.

It is certainly, without a doubt, a book that every White should read in order to help dispel the Liberals’ long perpetuated myths about race relations in America and how their policies have affected it.

While nowhere near Sowell’s first publication, A Man Of Letters is a particularly great starting point for reading Sowell’s extensive body of work.

To-date Thomas Sowell has written 32 books and many more scholarly papers during the last 39 years on race relations, societal modeling, history, politics, and economics. Many of these books are considered seminal works in their respective fields. A Man Of Letters, however, gives a rare glimpse into the mind of the author and is, therefor, a great starting point for new readers of his works.

A Man of Letters traces the life, career, and commentaries on controversial issues of Thomas Sowell over a period of more than four decades through his letters to and from family, friends, and public figures ranging from Milton Friedman to Clarence Thomas, David Riesman, Arthur Ashe, William Proxmire, Vernon Jordan, Charles Murray, Shelby Steele, and Condoleezza Rice. These letters begin with Sowell as a graduate student at the University of Chicago in 1960 and conclude with a reflective letter to his fellow economist and longtime friend Walter Williams in 2005.

It is certainly worth the time it takes to read and is a book I highly recommend for everyone in America.

One thing that strikes me as odd – and more than a little frustrating – is that both Rand’s supporters and detractors view this as a Dystopian future, as if it wasn’t, in pragmatic effect, already well underway.

Ayn Rand’s Future Is Now

In the real world Galt’s Gulch aka Mulligan’s Valley isn’t some concealed refuge in Colorado; it’s the global marketplace and the Third World labor pool. Business leaders are finding Galt’s Gulch in many places outside of America’s borders and jurisdiction.

Decline of Manufacturing
America no longer produces much domestically. Over the last 60 years there’s been slightly over of 66% drop in employment within factories inside the US and a commensurate rise in off-shoring manufacturing to places such as Mexico and China.

Decline of Innovation
Scientific and technological advances are also, more and more, coming from overseas. Companies are now paying scientists in China, India, Singapore, and other foreign lands to perform R & D instead of using more expensive domestic scientists and research facilities.

The motor is already stopping. Corporations, faced with the inability to compete globally with less restrictive regimes and with lower order economies while using domestic labor and facilities, are already “striking” and moving more and more of their operations outside of America.

I’m in the Blogosphere more than a little and, in order to make this more efficient, my various tools roam the internet scanning for keywords and tags of interest to me. This gives me a partial overview of what’s happen in the world of alternative journalism that I can analyze with other tools.

If you’re one of those who’ve commented or complained about my commenting on your article mere moments after you published it, at least now you know how and why it happened.

A recent trend I’ve seen is Liberal blogs having closed the comments on their posts. I don’t mean on older posts; I mean that they’re publishing articles and not allowing any commentary upon them from the start.

This is very much one of those smaller, harder to see signs that we, the People are on the course to victory!

At the very grassroots level, the more vocal of our enemies are in retreat. They’ve given up the argument and, in the method of their doing so, they’ve isolated themselves from each other.

How long can they maintain their efforts without the reinforcement of their Leftist echo chambers? I can’t say, but it’s likely that they’ll only howl in their lonely personal wildernesses for so long before going silent.

What is important for these Republicans to remember is that this does not mean that Americans endorse that which has seemingly become the GOP's agenda over the past few decades. We did not remove one set of Statists in order to replace them with another.

America’s anger and our rejection of President Obama’s agenda and how it was enacted by Pelosi’s and Reid’s Congress swept the Republican Party back into office across the nation. The GOP fared very well in the 2010 elections thanks to this repudiation of Statism, Socialism, and Liberalism.

What is important for these Republicans to remember is that this does not mean that Americans endorse that which has seemingly become the GOP’s agenda over the past few decades. We did not remove one set of Statists in order to replace them with another.

We, The People Are Watching; Remember That

Oh yes! It would be very wise for the Republicans to remember that the American people are watching them. It would also serve the GOP well to keep it firmly fixed in their minds that we have given them their marching orders and that their only job is to carry them out.

Failure would be quite costly since the voters will certainly punish such errancy in the 2012 elections. Failing to try to follow the will of the People could be far, far more costly for the Republican politicians and for those close to them.

Memento Mori

There is a lot anger in the hearts of the American people, and rightfully so given that Obama, Reid, and Pelosi, along with their coterie of anti-American Liberals, chose to attempt to rule rather than govern by the consent of the People. But the anger that has been seen so far is as nothing compared to what will likely be seen if the GOP mistakes their electoral victories for a mandate and lives down to their reputation.

They really need to remember that they are mortal, as are their kin. They really need to remember that they are “touchable,” as are their kin. No security measures are foolproof and nobody can watch every rooftop and/or every line of sight, especially in this day and age when 2000m shots are doable, at a stretch, with civilian-accessible weaponry.

If they remember that we, the People are watching them and act accordingly, all will be well. If they don’t, things might go poorly for them and/or their kin. There’s enough anger right now that betrayal would be all it took to spark some people off – and who, all things being considered, could truly say that they didn’t understand the sentiments involved?

While it was written by her some decades ago, over the years it has become more and more relevant for we, the People of the beleaguered United States of America.

We must remind the arrogant filth in DC that we will make no truce with would-be kings.

Lock and Load, it may well be the new battle anthem of the American people. It may have to be such if any recognizable remnant of our nation is to survive..

Lock And Load

From the first the word was made
our folks shall not be afraid
of men and states
that rule like gods
and all the hell that brings.

Empires rise,
empires fall
we will stand beyond them all
while we keep the memories strong
and make no truce with kings.

Lock and load
aim and fire
before hell rises any higher
ready left and ready right
before the truth goes out of sight.

Still the devil’s scratched the door
whispering as he’s done before
“liberties a luxury and this is crisis time”
crisis here, crisis there
always trouble brews somewhere
which excuse is hot today?
disaster war or crime?

Lock and load
aim and fire
before hell rises any higher
ready left and ready right
before the truth goes out of sight.

Inch by inch the ivy crawls
over the old restraining walls
law by law the state grows fat
and the ancient rights go down
show me one that isn’t breached
by laws that politicians preached
the old king smiles and sits and waits
and polishes his crown

Lock and load
aim and fire
before hell rises any higher
ready left and ready right
before the truth goes out of sight.

Law by law we grow dismayed -
if we were bribed we’re poorly paid
peace and plenty never came
for all we gave away
while we watched the power grow
we’ve been suckered, now we now
what we bought wasn’t worth the price
the game ends just one way.

Lock and load
aim and fire
before hell rises any higher
ready left and ready right
before the truth goes out of sight.

If this leads into war
that is what this right is for
to take our freedom in our hands
we have no angels’ wings
the gloves are off
the rent’s come due
the lies have failed
we see what’s true
remember what we always knew
and make no truce with kings.

Lock and Load is a song to live by and, if needs be, a song to die by. If America is to prevail in these trying times we must not only make no truce with our would-be kings, but also offer them and their supporters no respite or quarter.

We’ve used the Soap Box and the vermin in DC have ignored our will. In November and in 2012 we will use the Ballot Box. If nothing changes then…

Keep your eyes open. Travel light but load heavy, and always put another round in the enemy after they’re down.

The Liberals trying to rule Congress and spread their version of Statism across America are set to commit “suicide by electorate.” Few of them will survive the 2010 Congressional mid-term elections because of how they’ve willfully chosen to ignore and disrespect we, the People on the matter of healthcare reform.

They should be assured that no American will miss them or mourn their passing from power - or life.

The House and Senate separately drafted hyper-partisan bills loaded down with kick-backs and bribes, mostly via committees and behind closed doors; in the wake of Sen. Scott Brown’s (R-MA) election they opted to misuse the Budget Reconciliation process aka “The Nuclear Option” to pass the legislation in the Senate with a mere 51 votes; finally, Pelosi and Louis Slaughter have chosen to “deem and pass” the bill in the House in order to avoid a floor vote upon it.

While none of what the Democrats, led by such Liberal extremists as Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and President Obama, have done involving their plans to reconstruct the healthcare provisioning methods of America – functionally, if not explicitly, taking over 1/6 of the country’s economy in the process – is explicitly illegal or unconstitutional, most of what they’ve done is directly contrary to will and desires of the American people.

These Democrats will pay a suitably horrific price for their ill-conceived and pernicious actions and their failure to abide by the wishes of the American people. They will no longer be able to govern the nation, and they know it.

President Obama: Then You Can’t Govern

President Obama was right in asserting that, if they try to pass any major and invasive legislation such as ObamaCare by a 50 + 1 majority, neither he nor his Liberals in Congress will be able to govern the nation. Yet he and they no longer seem to care about that or about the American people who they obviously hold in contempt.

However, this turn of event was boldly foreshadowed many months ago; it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. This has always been about them and their power of the People; never for a single moment was it about what we wanted or felt we needed.

Since it has been plainly shown to the American people that neither Congress nor the President serves the People any longer and seeks instead to rule over us – for our own good, of course – we are looking at both a Dead Congress and Dead President Walking.

Assuming drastic measures aren’t taken by either the People or Obama’s regime before that time, The 2010 elections will be a proverbial bloodbath for the Democrats and the 2012 Presidential election will be the proverbial death knell for Barack Obama.

We will just have to hope that it isn’t by that time too late for our country.

Keep your eyes open. Travel light but load heavy, and always put another round in the enemy after they’re down.
