They cannot accept that sharing is a voluntary act and not something that can be forced.

It’s really quite amazingly simple, yet it’s beyond the ken of the Leftists:

1. It’s not sharing if it forced at the point of a gun. It’s theft.
2. It doesn’t matter if the gun is held by a thug or an officer of the law.
3. The credible threat of force is the same as using force.

They can’t understand this though and must be treated in exactly the same manner as any thief or extortionist must needs be treated by Americans protecting their families and property from assault.

America is at a point where it is dealing with a middle case scenario where politicians need to be instilled with a combination of preventative and punitive fears.

Fortunately, Americans have exercised some of the means at their disposal to instill the needed fear in the political elite. They banded together as the TEA Parties and elected representatives to Congress who were of strong purpose and character.

In the degenerate system that America’s federal government has devolved into, honest and patriotic men an women who have chosen to shoulder the burden of providing correction to that system and who are willing to disregard the personal cost to themselves for doing so are an acute source of fear for all the professional politicians who are heavily invested, often literally, in maintaining the current broken status quo.

Nothing scares professional politicians more than actual statesmen, and nothing scares the Liberals and Progressives more than American statesmen, even though they whine and rant when their own sort don’t behave similarly.

It’s a just another of Obama’s many lies though.

It strains rational credulity to believe that this bit of fear-mongering will work any better than any of the plethora of such campaigns have worked in the past. It strains rational credulity past the breaking point to think that Obama and his appointees in the FDA and HHS don’t know this fact.

It well might meet Obama’s and his Liberals’ true goals though – the further destruction of the economy of the South where the vast majority of America’s tobacco is grown and processed. After all, these are historically red states and the Liberals’ best hope is to crush their economies in order to either cause people to leave or be shackled by government subsistence level hand-outs.

The placement requirements for this propaganda make their goal of brand destruction and impeding sales quite clear:

1. On the top 50 percent of both the front and rear panels of each cigarette package.
2. In the upper portion of each cigarette advertisement, occupying at least 20 percent of the area of the advertisement.

The actual, and I believe planned, effect of Obama’s FDA’s new cigarette label regulations will be to make it harder for smokers and retailers to swiftly identify brands and types of cigarettes at the time of sale.

Such backhanded tactics by Obama and his sort don’t actually sink to the legal definition of a prior restraint, but they do certainly approach the functional level of such due to the added aggravation and time such labeling regulations will cause both shoppers and retailers.

These delays will also aggravate others waiting in the check-out lines, a bit of social engineering designed to further vilify and isolate American smokers that I’m sure is part and parcel of the Liberals’ plan.

Of course, if this goes like ObamaCare has so far, Newports and Kools will be given exemptions due to the “disproportion impact” upon Blacks, i.e., trusted Democrat sharecroppers voters.

The warning ads are useless, graphic propaganda that will be, like all other such things, ignored by the majority. The placement requirements, however, will do much to further Obama’s real goals, which is something for every man and woman in the southern states to remember as we approach the 2012 elections.

A particularly poignant case in point is the Turkish-German daytime television star, Sila Sahin’s extraordinarily beautiful bid for freedom from the constraints of Muslim “society.”

She has given her all to achieve a freedom.

Sila Sahin, who plays Ayla Özgül in the German soap opera, Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten (Good Times, Bad Times) posed for the German edition of Playboy in a bid for freedom from the constraints of Muslim “Society” and the Shari’a-based oppression of her family.

And it was truly a bid for freedom and a protest against the repression and misogyny endemic to the Muslim World.

Posing provocatively on the cover of German Playboy magazine with one breast exposed, Sahin seems to be sending a clear and deliberate message to her conservative Turkish family.

“I did it because I wanted to be free at last. These photographs are a liberation from the restrictions of my childhood,” she said.

Her family has, unsurprisingly, reacted with horror, and her mother has cut off all contact with the actress.

“My mother is still angry. It will be even more difficult with my grandparents, my aunts and my uncles,” she said on the website devoted to her television soap.

She has, however, managed to talk to her actor father, who expressed concern over the pressure she will inevitably face from the Muslim community.

Frankly, I’m unsure of Sahin’s father’s motivation for his apparent moderation. It could be – and I hope it is so – that he truly is evolved enough to support his daughter’s choice of freedom, or it could be that disowning her would lose him access to her income, something that he would control under Shari’a until Sila’s marriage.

He’s absolutely right about one thing though; Sila Sahin needs to be worried about the response of the Muslim “community.” They have a long and brutal history of violent reprisals against women who behave in any manner other than utter subservience. Those women who aren’t murdered often wish that they had been.

I’d like to think that, living in the Civilized World, Sila Sahin would be safe from the more savage forms of Muslim reprisal. That’s hardly a foregone conclusion though, as women such as Ayaan Hirsi Ali can attest. Hence, the twenty-five year old actress has placed herself at risk.

Sila Sahin’s choosing to pose for Playboy was certainly a brave and extremely beautiful bid for freedom. We must all just hope that she doesn’t pay too high of a price for it.

They really don’t like, and oft times rant about, what they perceive as odious and  needlessly invasive screenings at the hands and machines of the Transportation Security Officials (TSOs).

Ah, but that’s here on Earth. On Gor things would be quite different. The TSOs of Gor would brook no defiance from a mere passenger.

I watched as the woman cringed and attempted to draw back from Thargyur, the TSA official. “What gives you the right to inspect me?” she demanded.

“You will be inspected,” said the TSA officer.

“But I do not want to be inspected! I just want to board my plane and leave!” protested the woman.

“You will be inspected,” said the TSA officer.

“Please do not inspect me! I beg you, don’t strip me and place me in that scanning machine and fondle my breasts!”

“You will be inspected,” said the TSA officer.

Verily, the TSA officer moved forward and proceeded to inspect the woman.

“Stop inspecting me!” cried the woman. “I do not want to be inspected!” The TSA officer continued to inspect the woman. “Help! Police! Bystander! Congress! Somebody… stop this man!” she moaned. The TSA officer continued to inspect the woman. She was passenger. She would be inspected whenever the TSA officer desired to inspect her. In other permissive societies such as Earth’s, perhaps the TSA officer and passenger might be prevented from filling their true places in nature; but in Gor, the passenger had no rights. She was passenger. She would be inspected at will.

The woman cried muchly as the TSA officer finished inspecting her. Too, she had been inspected; but this did not matter. She was passenger.

“You have been inspected,” said the TSA officer.

“Yes,” sobbed the woman. “I have been inspected.”

“I have inspected you very well,” said the TSA officer.

“Yes.” sobbed the woman. “I have been inspected very well; I am a passenger and deserve to be well-inspected by the TSA.” And yet, despite her sobbing, the passenger felt more passenger-like than she ever had on Earth. I smiled as I watched the passengers depart. I did not figure the first passenger would object to being inspected again; for this was Gor, and over her life, the passenger would likely be touched and inspected by many TSA agents. Such is the place of passengers.

Yes, on the fantasy world detailed in 29 volumes (soon to be 30) by John Norman aka Dr. John Lange, things would be quite different for the passengers indeed. They would be inspected, swiftly learn to accept it, soon learn to like it, and eventually come to yearn for their inspections and to love their TSOs.

It is well known that the Gorean TSO, though often strict, is seldom cruel. The passenger knows, if she pleases him, her trip will be an easy one. She will almost never encounter sadism or wanton cruelty, for the psychological environment that tends to breed these diseases is largely absent from Gor. This does not mean that she will not expect to be beaten if she disobeys, or fails to please her TSO.

One thing that strikes me as odd – and more than a little frustrating – is that both Rand’s supporters and detractors view this as a Dystopian future, as if it wasn’t, in pragmatic effect, already well underway.

  America no longer produces much domestically. Over the last 60 years there’s been slightly over of 66% drop in employment within factories inside the US and a commensurate rise in off-shoring manufacturing to places such as Mexico and China.
• Decline of Innovation
  Scientific and technological advances are also, more and more, coming from overseas. Companies are now paying scientists in China, India, Singapore, and other foreign lands to perform R & D instead of using more expensive domestic scientists and research facilities.

The motor is already stopping. Corporations, faced with the inability to compete globally with less restrictive regimes and with lower order economies while using domestic labor and facilities, are already “striking” and moving more and more of their operations outside of America.

What better way to destroy a nation than to refuse to each its values and to teach foreign and/or false values instead?

Fortunately for America, the Tea Party has moved beyond the first, needed tactic of widespread protests and now has begun to focus on the longer term strategy of providing educational opportunities to the people.  They seek now to inform the people’s discretion, as it were, by such education in order to revitalize and re-empower the American citizenry, which the Liberals have tried hard – and nearly successfully – to turn into mere subjects devoid of even the knowledge that they, not their elected tools, are the government.

BEALETON, VA. — “Tea party” activists across the nation tried to put the “independence” back in Independence Day this weekend with festivals and other gatherings focused on the Constitution — and how to use it for political gain.

Coupled with an upsurge in organized classes and book clubs, the trend reflects a growing effort among conservatives to teach supporters how to do political battle using an inviolable weapon: the nation’s founding documents. It’s a change in emphasis for a movement that rose to prominence with spirited and sometimes unruly protests across the nation.

But it’s one that organizers hope will yield real political results by arming supporters with the detailed knowledge to back only those candidates who are loyal to their ideals.

“The rallies were a start, but the goal now is to get people to stop and really think about things,” said Kerry Scott, an organizer of the Alexandria Tea Party, one of several hundred conservative activists who attended “An American Event,” a Fourth of July festival for “God and country” staged by a local farmer on rolling farmland in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains this weekend.

This seems to me to be both a brave and wise move on the part of the Tea Parties. Encouraging people to learn about what America was supposed to be is the best long-term strategy I’ve heard of to get our country back on the track it was always meant to be on and from which it has so horribly strayed.

It’s sad that it is necessary though. Such thing should have been continually taught in our schools, but with the educational system’s subornation by our enemies it’s been a long time since this was true. We’ve devolved and degenerated a great deal since James Madison’s time.

When Madison wrote that he was lauding the growth of educational institutions in America because they were teaching citizenship and educating we, the People in matters of governance so that as many as possible could take up their duties as the true government of America.

The latest excess of Obama’s nanny state is his regime’s burgeoning war on what Americans are allowed to eat and drink – specifically how much salt we’re allowed to have ready access to.

Naturally Obama’s and his Liberals’ pet media stayed largely silent on this latest intrusion into Americans’ personal lives by the regime, which is why, almost a month after the announcement, I finally found out about it. A few outlets, mostly print, did report on it though.

As reported on April 20, 2010 by the Washington Post:

The Food and Drug Administration is planning an unprecedented effort to gradually reduce the salt consumed each day by Americans, saying that less sodium in everything from soup to nuts would prevent thousands of deaths from hypertension and heart disease. The initiative, to be launched this year, would eventually lead to the first legal limits on the amount of salt allowed in food products.

The government intends to work with the food industry and health experts to reduce sodium gradually over a period of years to adjust the American palate to a less salty diet, according to FDA sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the initiative had not been formally announced.

Officials have not determined the salt limits. In a complicated undertaking, the FDA would analyze the salt in spaghetti sauces, breads and thousands of other products that make up the $600 billion food and beverage market, sources said. Working with food manufacturers, the government would set limits for salt in these categories, designed to gradually ratchet down sodium consumption. The changes would be calibrated so that consumers barely notice the modification.

The legal limits would be open to public comment, but administration officials do not think they need additional authority from Congress.

“This is a 10-year program,” one source said. “This is not rolling off a log. We’re talking about a comprehensive phase-down of a widely used ingredient. We’re talking about embedded tastes in a whole generation of people.”

The FDA, which regulates most processed foods, would be joined in the effort by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which oversees meat and poultry.

Currently, manufacturers can use as much salt as they like in products because under federal standards, it falls into the category deemed “generally recognized as safe.” Foodmakers are merely required to report the amount on nutrition labels.

But for the past 30 years, health officials have grown increasingly alarmed as salt intake has increased with the explosion in processed foods and restaurant meals. Most adults consume about twice the government’s daily recommended limit, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Until now, the government has pushed the food industry to voluntarily reduce salt and tried to educate consumers about the dangers of excessive sodium. But in a study to be released Wednesday, an expert panel convened by the Institute of Medicine concludes that those measures have failed. The panel will recommend that the government take action, according to sources familiar with the findings.

Although the specifics of the government’s plans have not been made public, the food industry has been bracing for a federal initiative.

The facts of this report have also been independently confirmed on April 21, 2010 by the Los Angeles Times.

Such an action by Obama’s “Food Police” is in no way surprising. After lying, cheating, bribing, and bludgeoning their way into inflicting Obamacare unto a largely unwilling citizenry it became in the federal government’s interest to regulate and strictly control any and all actions that the formerly free citizens of our country might take which would affect their overall health index. The federal government’s doing so became, instantly upon Obamacare’s passage into law, an economic requirement.

Oh yes! You and I need not even bother being our brothers’ keeper; Big Brother will be the keeper of us all and ensure that we remain healthy and appropriately fed – if we let them do so.

To paraphrase from Charlton Heston’s character, George Taylor in Planet of the Apes, “Take your stinking paws off my food, you damn dirty apes!”

The question before the American people is whether or not we have the conviction and the will to do whatever is necessary to put a stop to them.

When a Texas third-grader get’s a week’s detention, during which she would be separated from other students during lunch and recess, for possessing a Jolly Rancher hard candy, it’s a stark warning sign that the Nanny State is firmly entrenched in the country.

ORCHARD, Texas – A third-grader at Brazos Elementary was given a week’s detention for possessing a Jolly Rancher.

School officials in Brazos County are defending the seemingly harsh sentence. The school’s principal and superintendent said they were simply complying with a state law that limits junk food in schools.

But the girl’s parents say it’s a huge overreaction.

“I think it’s stupid to give a kid a week’s worth of detention for a piece of candy,” said Amber Brazda, the girl’s mother. “The whole thing was just ridiculous to me.”

Leighann Adair, 10, was eating lunch Monday when a teacher confiscated the candy. Her parents said she was in tears when she arrived home later that afternoon and handed them the detention notice.

According to the disciplinary referral, she would be separated from other students during lunch and recess through Friday.

Jack Ellis, the superintendent for Brazos Independent School District, declined an on-camera interview. But he said the school was abiding by a state guideline that banned “minimal nutrition” foods.

“Whether or not I agree with the guidelines, we have to follow the rules,” he said.

The state, however, gives each school discretion over how to enforce the policy. Ellis said school officials had decided a stricter punishment was necessary after lesser penalties failed to serve as a deterrent.

Ellis said failing to adhere to the state’s guidelines could put federal funding in jeopardy.

According to the Texas Department of Agriculture’s website, “The Texas Public School Nutrition Policy (TPSNP) explicitly states that it does not restrict what foods or beverages parents may provide for their own children’s consumption.”

Brazos Elementary Principal Jeanne Young, said the problem, in this instance, was that the candy was provided by another student – not the girl’s parents.

The girl’s mother said the incident has taught her daughter a lesson, but not the one her teachers intended.

“I told her, ‘Leighann, unfortunately you’re learning very young that life’s not fair,’” Brazda said.

So the Food Police at Brazos Elementary gave the ten year-old Leighann Adair a week’s detention for “possession of minimal nutrition food.” One has to wonder if the student who gave her the Jolly Rancher got worse due to harsher sentencing for “possession with intent to distribute” and if young Ms. Adair could have gotten a lighter sentence by identifying her “dealer” to the authorities.

Brazos Elementary school officials have defended their actions against Leighann Adair as being required by- and consistent with Texas state laws; they were just following orders from the Nanny State after all. In this they are actually correct.

Texas Public School Nutrition Policy (TPSNP) Update

SY 2009-2010 TPSNP Amendments will be effective August 1, 2009. Highlights of the Amendments include:

• Nutrition Standards: Schools must eliminate deep-fat frying as a method of on-site preparation for foods served as part of reimbursable school meals, a la carte, snack lines and competitive foods. Transition period for extensive equipment or facility changes ends.
• Foods of Minimal Nutritional Value (FMNV): High Schools my not serve or provide access for students to FMNV and all other forms of candy at any time anywhere on school premises until the end of the last scheduled class.

As I have said before, the Liberals seek to enact a “nanny state” whose despotism will wear a kindly face, but whose iron fist will strike as hard as any other tyrant’s. Even worse, as they have so often in the past, they have come first for America’s children since they are well acquainted with Lenin’s words, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”

The question before Americans is do we have the conviction and the will to do what is necessary to stop them.

As one would likely expect, outside the Civic Center some 200 Tea  Party supporters held a protest. What few people expected was the response to this protest by Team Obama. Upon seeing the Tea Party supporters nearing the civic center sometime after Obama’s motorcade had arrived and the attendees of speech had entered the building, they summoned a squad of riot police to deal with the Tea Party.

Many Americans are outraged and more than a little scared by the use of such levels of force and intimidation against what was an entirely peaceful protest. The massacres of protesters by agents of the law in Orangeburg, SC, Kent, MS, and Jackson, OH are still, decades later, part of America’s national consciousness.

Certainly, outrage is in order, as is a certain amount of well-founded concern for the safety of those who dissent against President Obama’s agenda to reconstruct the foundations of America. But the Obama regime’s recourse of using riot police to attempt to intimidate some 200 peaceful Tea Party protesters is also cause for joy. It means we, the People a making strides in our war to maintain American liberties.

The government’s – in the form of Obama’s administration – fear of we, the People was quite in evidence in Quincy, IL. The heady scent of liberty was thick in the air as President Obama’s cadre called out the police from several jurisdictions in full riot gear to quell and intimidate the Tea Party protesters Oakley Lindsay Civic Center during President Obama’s visit.

So the American people should be somewhat joyful. We have struck a certain amount of fear into the government. Since fear is one of the few things governments – especially Obama’s pseudo-messianic regime – listen to, this is a sign that we’re winning the war for our children’s nation.

But, Some Needed Perspective

Some people – many actually – have claimed that the police called out to block off and intimidate the Quincy Tea Party were SWAT. This is erroneous at best, mendacious at worst. The law enforcement detail assigned to this event was the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) Mobile Field Force Team (MFFT) 8. They are equipped for- and trained in crowd control not, in the sort of aggressive tactical operations undertaken by SWAT teams.

My condolences to the family and teammates of MMFT 8 Team Member Sheriff’s Deputy Lamont Reid who passed away Monday April 26 while working an assignment in E. St. Louis

If they had been SWAT the armor would have been largely the same but their weaponry would have been much deadlier and far more in evidence since SWAT teams are used for offensive missions instead of defensive and containment ones. Indeed, even for riot police MFFT Team 8 came significantly under-armed if they expected to encounter any trouble at all – which they at least obviously didn’t.
