America has begun the July 4th holiday weekend, a time when we celebrate our independence and the creation through the force of will and of arms of our sovereign nation. For most of us the holiday weekend will be a joyous time, both because of the amazing divine gift to the world that it celebrates and - in all cruel honesty - because for many of us it is a welcome three-day weekend and break from the drudgery of our workplaces.

For some though the 4th of July, America's Independence Day, may not be quite so joyous or even pleasant. ;-)

Yes! The American people, those within her borders who love our country and hold fast to the ideals of liberty and sovereignty that it was founded upon, are "onto Obama" and his coteries of Liberals that have infested our federal government and President Obama, not being an utter fool, can certainly see that fact of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Yes! The American people, those within her borders who love our country and hold fast to the ideals of liberty and sovereignty that it was founded upon, are “onto Obama” and his coteries of Liberals that have infested our federal government and President Obama, not being an utter fool, can certainly see that fact of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

President Obama can certainly see that we, the People are not tolerant of his ideology; the way a great many of the GOP primaries have gone and the way that some at-risk Dems have changed their tunes and voting has painted a clear picture of that.

Oh yes! The upcoming “fireworks” are not going to make President Obama and his Liberal cabal happy at all.

It Is The Soldier Who Gives Us Liberty, Bought With His Blood

These fallen soldiers are long past review, and I sincerely doubt that our dead care overmuch about our opinions of their lives; they’re now past our flawed judgments. But we should certainly care about what their judgment of us and how we’ve used the freedoms they bought for with their privation, pain, and deaths would be.

Yes, a simple reminder on this Memorial Day weekend – America is the Land of the Free because of the Brave. Every single freedom we have was bought with their blood and what have so many within the US done with those hard-earned freedoms?

In America it is time for Thanksgiving, a holiday that Americans celebrate every autumn. While its celebration is pervasive among Americans, it is often an almost reflexive habit. Much of the underlying meaning has been lost as our technologies and skills have increased and brought with them much greater security.

Thanksgiving was a Harvest Festival. Few, if any, in the Civilized World can truly understand the visceral significance of that fact – though many of the rest of the People’s of the Earth certainly still can.

Harvest Prayer

The crops have been harvested;
The herbs have been dried;
The game and the herds have been salted;
We will survive.

We give thanks to the Mother
Who has shared of her bounty.
We are grateful for her teachings and her fruit.
We will survive.

We give thanks to the Father
Who has shared of his flesh.
We are grateful for his teachings and his blood.
We will survive.

Grateful are we who face the Winter.
Through the gifts of the Mother and Father
We are prepared for the cold season.
We will survive and we are grateful.

~*~

We will survive! In agrarian societies who are isolated from trade the fall harvest was – and still often is – the difference between Life and Death, not just for individuals but for whole communities. Is it any wonder that the harvest was a holiday – a Holy Day – of joy, relief, and thanksgiving?

We Americans are secure and wealthy and Thursday’s feast will be rich and sweet on our tongues – but how much sweeter was that first Thanksgiving feast when the Pilgrims knew it meant that they could live through Winter and see the coming of Spring?

Please Spare Him A Thought When You Pray For His Comrades

There are currently approximately 2300 Military Working Dogs serving in active duty across the globe. They and their Handler-Teammates are invaluable to our ongoing efforts against terrorism and Muslim insurgency. They are literally our front line troops in detecting mines and Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs) and in Search and Rescue operations.

Indeed, these canine soldiers have been so effective in Afghanistan that it is reported that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda have offered bounties for their heads.

So please spare them a moment’s thought today when your praying for our troops, both living and dead, because they’re our troops as well and they ask for so very little.

Can this, the 232nd American Independence Day be a joyous celebration though? Should it be, given what has been already and is being done to America by President Obama and his cabal of Liberal among the Democratic Party?

Shouldn't this day be either a day of mourning for Americans or a day of angry defiance? Should we patriots not either reflect upon the fact that we ousted a tyrant in 1776 to birth a nation but allowed a worse despot to take the reins of power in 2009, or gather together to shout out our just rage and swear to end this villainy so that we can rebuild America once more?

Today is July 4, 2009. In America it is Independence Day, the day when patriotic Americans celebrate our Founding Fathers’ courage in defying tyranny and creating a new nation, the United States of America, based upon Democracy, Freedom, Equality, and Enterprise.

Since the summer of 1777, Independence Day, aka the Fourth of July, has been a time of joyous celebration of America’s creation and of freedom from tyranny. Flags, parades, parties, picnics, family gatherings, and something resembling fireworks have graced this American holiday since its beginning.

Can this, the 232nd American Independence Day be a joyous celebration though? Should it be, given what has been already and is being done to America by President Obama and his cabal of Liberals among the Democratic Party?

Shouldn’t this day be either a day of mourning for Americans or a day of angry defiance? Should we patriots not either reflect upon the fact that we ousted a tyrant in 1776 to birth a nation but allowed a worse despot to take the reins of power in 2009, or gather together to shout out our just rage and swear to end this villainy so that we can rebuild America once more?

While the Liberals hold their gloating fetes under Old Glory – to her shame, should not Americans either fly our flag at half-staff in mourning or, as is set forth in Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10, §176, upside down (union down) as a signal of our defiance and dire distress?

~*~

The great nation of the United States of America lasted for a while, probably longer than our Founding Fathers expected. For 233 years, from 1776 to 2008, she shone as a beacon of freedom, industry, and prosperity in a more and more benighted world. Now the Liberal maggots rejoice as they squirm in an orgy of destruction as they feast upon her corpse.

It behooves those of us who were raised to be Americans to accept the sad and horrid fact that our nation has run its course. A new thing, cancerous and vile, has arisen from its ravished remains and it is recognizable only in its mockery.

We Americans must now choose: we can go gently into that long night; we can strive to rebuild what has been lost, stolen, or raped from us; or we can accept our loss, but wreak such vengeance upon our enemies that the world learn the price of evil.

Yes, these brave men and women who put themselves in harm’s way for the sake of kith and kin, for the sake of clan and country, and for the sake of freedom and security for all those who sheltered behind them, needed no motivational posters, no rousing speeches, no brash fanfares. They sacrificed themselves on the altar of blood because duty demanded it; all the pomp and splendor was but trapping for those left behind.

Review, friends – troops long past review,
All to fate a weight of pains and dollars.
Their spirit’s wear our silver collars.

Review, friends – troops long past review:
Each a dot of time without pretense or guile.
With them passes the lure of fortune.

Review, friends – troops long past review.
Frank Herbert’s Dune

These fallen soldiers are long past review, their arms and accouterments moldering in the earth, yet there they stand in perfect formation. Massed in their ranks, battalion after battalion, in neat rows set out in now peaceful fields, they fulfill their final duty.

So do not review them, these men and women who earned a warrior’s peace. Present yourself to them instead for review. The fallen do not need our thanksgiving or our praise, but we, for the sake of our souls, need to thank and praise them - and to remember.
