Obama’s Christmas Wishlist

He’s not been shy during the last three years in making all Americans well aware of what’s on his Christmas wish list either.

Perhaps this should be of some concern to Christians, a wee bit more so than arguments about “Happy Holidays” vs. “Merry Christmas.”

After all, the customs, trappings, and imagery of an American Christmas: Santa, Frosty The Snow Man, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Christmas Trees and decorations, and so very many others have nothing to do with Missa Christi aka Crīstesmæsse aka Christ’s Mass.

I think that “the war on Christmas” is one that Christians have already largely lost and that the current trend towards anti-theism and anti-Christianity is just a mopping up operation, the Christians, by and large, having already ceded the field.

OK; I know this can go too far. Believe me, I know. I’ve been there and done that.

Years and years ago, my first wife and I bred and raised, among many other species, Solomon Islands Monkey-Tailed Skinks (Corucia zebrata) and they roamed freely throughout our house.

Year one they commandeered the Christmas tree and it stayed up year-round from that point.

Which One Do You Think Will Be Suspended?

Given the levels of political correctness now demanded of the majority of students and the lawfare and paper terrorism engaged in by the Godless over any public expression of religiosity, the rather funny cartoon may well be prophetic.

‘Tis no skin off my nose though. I’m Pagan. Now, when they figure out that Blessed or Merry Yuletide are religious sayings as well, then we’ll have issues.

Rana Tannenbaumensis – The Christmas Frog

The Christmas Frog (Rana tannenbaumensis) is rare these days due to religious and ideological destruction but can still be found in North America and Western Europe and was once part of Christmas celebrations.

OK, OK – It’s a tree frog that has swallowed a Christmas light, mistaking it for a firefly.

Of course, if this pic goes viral, how long do you think it’ll be before PETA winds themselves up and starts protesting outdoor Christmas lights because of the potential for frog’s swallowing them? They’ll probably start a “Swamp Puppies” pseudo-education campaign reminiscent of their Sea Kittens propaganda.

So to preemptively strike and forestall any attempt by PETA to move in that direction, I present you with a sampling of the Swap Puppy:

NOTE: For those who might be interested, the frog in the image is a Cuban Tree Frog (Osteopilus septentrionalis) and the photo was taken in August, 2009 by James Snyder in his backyard in southern Florida.

After the photo Mr. Snyder pulled the light out of the frog’s mouth and he was fine, having suffered no ill effects from ingesting the light-bulb.

The costumes, combined with the tendency to put one’s inhibitions on hold for a night, are often enough to make it a pleasant secular exuberance.

Baconalia! Beer and Bacon, Together At Last! Huzzah!

Enjoy the porkalicious goodness of this bacon mug with a rich, dark beer. Whether it be a smoked beer or malty beer is up to you, the celebrant. and as a break between libations you can fill it with beer cheese soup!

But no celebration is complete with just food and drink. Such would be nothing but a meal, albeit one of divine splendor. To fully celebrate the baconalia requires women.

And there you have the three “B’s” of the divine feast of the baconalia – Beer, Babes, and Bacon! Huzzah!

A Soldier’s Night Before Christmas

So when your enjoying opening your Christmas presents tomorrow and/or enjoying watching your loved ones open theirs, give a moments thought to present you’ve all recieved – your liberty, security, and prosperity. They didn’t come from Santa and they were purchased with Amex or Visa; they were leased with the blood, sweat, and tears of the men and women of our armed services.

Yes, your liberty, security, and prosperity were and are gifts. You likely did not earn them and, given the degeneration of American society, you likely don’t deserve them.

To my fellow Pagans and Heathens – It was just Yule and these men and women offered themselves up to the Wicker Man in our names in all willingness and in the fullness of knowledge.

That’s the best part presents – and rights – though, isn’t it? You don’t have to earn them or deserve them as long as someone else is willing to foot the bill.

No Nativity Scene in Washington This Year!

The United States Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity Scene in the United States Capitol this Christmas season. This isn’t for any religious reason. They simply have not been able to Find Three Wise Men in the Nation’s Capitol.  A search for a Virgin continues. There was no problem, however, finding enough asses to fill the stable.

Congress and the White House, always ever eager to circumvent the rulings of the SCOTUS, has decided to include the Nativity anyway, just not as a public display.

Bacon Nativity – So Wrong But So Porkalicious

That’s right; they’ve figured out a way of combining their two great loves: feeding from the public trough and an endless supply of pork with their holiday celebrations.
