Gore™ AGW Kool Aid – It’s Not Selling Anymore

At an Aspen Institute media forum titled “Networks and Citizenship” Gore came unhinged and started railing against just about every segment of American industry.

The model of media manipulation used then, Gore said, “was transported whole cloth into the climate debate. And some of the exact same people — I can go down a list of their names — are involved in this. And so what do they do? They pay pseudo-scientists to pretend to be scientists to put out the message: ‘This climate thing, it’s nonsense. Man-made CO2 doesn’t trap heat. It may be volcanoes.’ Bullshit! ‘It may be sun spots.’ Bullshit! ‘It’s not getting warmer.’ Bullshit!” Gore exclaimed.

Even leaving the profanity and utter gracelessness of Gore’s rantings aside, this was a pathetic display by a deeply morally bankrupt individual, hell-bent on trying to revive his doomsday cult for his own profit despite the growing weight of findings that shatter their myths.

“They pay pseudo-scientists to pretend to be scientists to put out the message…” After all the fraud, shoddy and slanted methodology, subornation of the peer review process, and outright corruption displayed by the IPCC, Al Gore, The University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, and horde of other Warmists, it’s safe to say that Gore’s claim fits him and them far better than those that he railed against.

Sadly for them, their eschatology runs afoul of Chaos Theory and, even leaving the falsity of much of their data aside, it’s patently ridiculous for supposed scientists to believe that they can come up with the correctly weighted causative factors behind systemic changes when the system in question is as large and poorly understood as Earth’s climate.

Perhaps they should have read more about Professor Edward Norton Lorenz’ “Butterfly Effect” – i.e., sensitive dependence on initial conditions in nonlinear systems

Alas that could never happen. Lorenz was a meteorologist as well as a mathematician and we know the disdain and contempt that the Warmists feel towards meteorologists.

Still, the issue is potentially important and deserved study. After some research I found a pattern of events and actions that seems to near-perfectly fit their warming models. I may have actually stumbled upon the real culprit behind AGW – the United States Postal Service.

The Warmists should really look into this. Global mean temperatures track much closer to US Postal rates than to atmospheric CO2 levels. Doing so shouldn’t bother them much either, if they can get past their slavish devotion to their dogma. It fits the facts in evidence, is still anthropogenic in nature, and would make AGW entirely America’s fault. Hence it doesn’t violate anything in the Warmists’ core doctrine.

Want To Slow Global Warming? Stop Immigration!

If both everything and only that which the Warmists claim were true, then this video would be, by and large, true. Halting or greatly reducing and restricting immigration to America from the Third World would slow the rate of Anthropogenic Climate Change.

The Truth

It’s grim and scary fact that the US Census Bureau’s middle and most likely projection is that the US will add 120 million people to the population of the U.S. by 2050 and that 67% of this population explosion will be due to immigration and the progeny of immigrants.

Each and every one of those immigrants and their broods are going to expect to live somewhat akin as to how Americans live, an admittedly wildly resource consuming lifestyle. The slightly over 80 million immigrants and children of immigrants will require America to produce, expend, and/or consume:

• 28 million more housing units
• 37 million more passenger automobiles
• 1.9 billion more barrels of oil per year
• 4.4 quadrillion gallons of water per year

Even to the majority of people, those who haven’t bought into Al Gore’s doomsday cult of AGW, have to see that these numbers are not sustainable. If the US Census Bureau’s projections are close to accurate, America  has a future measured in years and not very many of those.

The Stupidity

Whether true or not, this video and the intent behind it is stupid. It’s farcical to think for a moment that Greens, Liberals, and Progressives who make up the Warmists would ever entertain any thought that was not expressly and  actively pro-immigration and/or pro-minority. Those sorts would never consider advocating such things as limiting immigration from Third World areas.

Irrespective of whatever they’ve ever stated about the problem of Global Warming, their chosen solutions have always had far more to do with wealth distribution than with combating Climate Change.

At the most fundamental level, if that wasn’t the case, then they wouldn’t have mono-focused on CO2 emissions from fossil fuels. They would have also looked at CO2 emission levels from biofuel / biomass production and that of charcoal, which is a primary fuel for much of the Third World. They also might have – still adhering to their postulate of Anthropogenic Global Warming  of course – done some serious research into the climatic effects of the levels of deforestation both these processes cause.

But such things are not and never will be part of any Green’s, Liberal’s, or Progressives’ agenda. No matter what their current cause célèbre is, their “solutions” are all the same and do not include anything resembling the ideas in this video.

It’s stupid to believe that the Green’s, Liberal’s, or Progressives’ have the capability or will to understand or to change their ways.

What is most telling is not that the Left is outraged but what specifically they’re outraged over in this matter.

What should be able to be considered strangely, the issue isn’t with Prof. Katz’s admitted lack of usefulness in dealing with the spill or its cleanup.

I was honored to be invited and enjoyed the experience. Did I have anything much to contribute? I think I have some ideas for how to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the future, but I don’t have anything very specific to offer on the present problems. It is very much in the hands of the real pros.

If Prof. Katz’ lack of qualifications to deal with British Petroleum’s catastrophic failure was the reason for the Liberal’s outrage I would take no issue with it. From the above quote I would guess that Prof. Katz himself would not gainsay their opinions. But the Liberals’ wrath and condemnation is not about Katz’s credentials or skills; it’s about his ideology and the fact that it doesn’t match their own.

Firstly, Prof. Katz doesn’t believe in Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) – desperately re-branded as ‘Climate Change” – any more than the majority of American people do. Nor is he overly fond of self-aggrandizing opportunists like Al Gore and his cult-like followers.

Who is stoking the alarm about global warming? There is Al Gore, an over-the-hill politician who wants to remain in the public eye. His house uses 20 times as much electricity as the average American house and he flies private jets. Obviously, he does not believe what he preaches; it must be an act. Conservation is for the little people. I’ll think about reducing my emissions after he reduces his by 95%. Then there is Jim Hansen, would-be dictator who wants to throw in jail anyone who disagrees with him or burns coal. He may wish himself another Mussolini (or worse), but people just laugh at him. And finally John Holdren, who in his younger days was prophesying disaster from the ice age then just beginning (so he said). Fictitious crises are a demagogue’s route to power.

Some of the more apocalyptic fears about global warming resemble a secular doomsday cult. Rather than God dooming mankind for its traditional sins (robbery, lust, murder, disbelief, etc.), Nature is said to doom mankind for the secular sin of carbon emission. Some (Greenpeace, and even more radical groups) think any human effect on nature to be sinful, and regard “Mother Earth” as a deity that is violated by any use of its resources for the sustenance, comfort or betterment of Mankind. Needless to say, this is opposite to the Biblical grant of the natural world to Man for his benefit.

Cold Thoughts on Global Warming

Secondly, more irrelevantly to rationally minded people, but apparently much more importantly to the Liberals Prof. Katz does not in any way approve of homosexuality. He is, in fact, a self professed homophobe and seemingly proud of that fact.

In America attitudes towards homosexuality changed in the 1970′s. It went from a private, furtively practiced, vice to an open and accepted subculture. In many circles, “sodomite” ceased to be an insult. This acceptance led to the toleration, and wide practice, of gross homosexual promiscuity. HIV, falling onto that fertile soil, made the AIDS epidemic. Even before AIDS was recognized, practicing homosexuals were notorious for a high rate of venereal diseases.

The religious believer may see the hand of God, but both he and the rationalist must see a fact of Nature. The human body was not designed to share hypodermic needles, it was not designed to be promiscuous, and it was not designed to engage in homosexual acts. Engaging in such behavior is like riding a motorcycle on an icy road without a helmet. It may be possible to get away with it for a while, and a few misguided souls may get a thrill out of doing so, but sooner or later (probably sooner) the consequences will be catastrophic. Lethal diseases spread rapidly among people who do such things.

Unfortunately, the victims are not only those whose reckless behavior brought death on themselves. There are many completely innocent victims, too: hemophiliacs (a substantial fraction died as a result of contaminated clotting factor), recipients of contaminated transfusions, and their spouses and children, for AIDS can be transmitted heterosexually (in America, only infrequently) and congenitally. The icy road was lined with unsuspecting innocents, who never chose to ride a motorcycle. Guilt for their deaths is on the hands of the homosexuals and intravenous drug abusers who poisoned the blood supply. These people died so the sodomites could feel good about themselves.

In Defense of Homophobia

The Liberals absolutely couldn’t stand that Prof. Katz was included in President Obama’s scientific team sent to the Gulf solely because he isn’t a Warmist but is a homophobe. It is beyond their limited rationality to see that these two facts about Prof. Katz are utterly irrelevant to whether or not he could help solve a complex applied engineering problem such as we currently face in the wake of the oil rig explosion.

All these raving and ranting fools could see was that Prof. Katz wasn’t someone who agreed with their ideology and who “should not be elevated by the President of the United States as a representative of the best minds in America” according to the queers at AmericaBlog.

What’s truly sickening is that they won.  President Obama’s administration kowtowed before the stridency of the Warmists and queers.

Some of Professor Katz’s controversial writings have become a distraction from the critical work of addressing the oil spill. Professor Katz will no longer be involved in the Department’s efforts.

Don’t get me wrong; I don’t believe that Prof. Katz is any great loss to President Obama’s “dream team” of scientists. Neither he nor I think he could have added much benefit to the enterprise. But what if he could have?

Little, if any, of the complaints from the Left have mentioned Katz’s usefulness or lack of it in the efforts to stem the flood of crude oil pouring into the Gulf from the remains of BP’s oil platform. Liberals, especially the Warmists and queers, don’t sound like they’d care if Katz was critical to the mission at hand; they’d still do their best to have him removed based upon ideology and ideology alone.

I don’t care if you’re a vegan, cross-dressing, queer, communist, warmist who blames the US for 9/11; in an emergency unrelated to your beliefs,  if you have skills I need, I’ll gladly work with you.

To Liberals, only ideology matters and they have shown that they’ll take this to dangerously destructive lengths. This is why Americans must break them and destroy them as a political and social force.

Of course, as the above image displays, Al Gore hopefully wouldn’t be the first choice by the Warmists for a PETA style AGW poster or billboard.

Al Gore’s Cultists,The Warmists, Now Have A Prayer To Chant

This was really the only thing that the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) were still lacking. Al Gore’s apocalyptic cultists already have the blind faith, strict dogma, and holier-than-thou attitudes. All they were lacking was prayer.

Hellfire! They had even learned from the Catholics of bygone days and were setup to sell Indulgences in the form of Carbon Credits….

I haven’t read those e-mails in detail, but the larger point is that there are cyclical changes in the climate and they are fairly well-understood, and all of them are included in the scientific consensus. When you look at what has happened over the last few decades the natural fluctuations point in the opposite direction of what has actually occurred. When they run the models and plug in the man-made pollution, the correspondence is exact. Beyond that, the scale of natural fluctuations has now been far exceeded by the impact of man-made global warming.

And again, we’re putting 90 million tons of it into the air today and we’ll put a little more of that up there tomorrow. The physical relationship between CO2 molecules and the atmosphere and the trapping of heat is as well-established as gravity, for God’s sakes. It’s not some mystery. One hundred and fifty years ago this year, John Tyndall discovered CO2 traps heat, and that was the same year the first oil well was drilled in Pennsylvania. The oil industry has outpaced the building of a public consensus of the implications of climate science.

But the basic facts are incontrovertible. What do they think happens when we put 90 million tons up there every day? Is there some magic wand they can wave on it and presto!—physics is overturned and carbon dioxide doesn’t trap heat anymore? And when we see all these things happening on the Earth itself, what in the hell do they think is causing it? The scientists have long held that the evidence in their considered word is “unequivocal,” which has been endorsed by every national academy of science in every major country in the entire world.

Mr. Gore does have one thing right – the basic facts are incontrovertible. Sadly for him and his cultists, however, those incontrovertible facts do not support his wild claims.

The fact in question is that there is conflicting evidence on the effectiveness of CO2 as a greenhouse gas. While nobody with any grounding in science would dispute John Tyndall’s basic findings, the levels of CO2 necessary to cause Global Warming are still quite in doubt due to the paleo record.

The Ordovician Ice Age

The Ordovician ice age happened 450 million years ago, and lasted a “mere” 300 – 500 thousand years (0.3 – 0.5 million years) but was apparent very bitter. It is generally credited with causing the Ordovician–Silurian extinction event, the third largest of the five major extinction events in Earth’s history in terms of percentage of genera that died off and second largest in the overall loss of life.

Yet, according to Al Gore and his cultists, the Warmists, the Ordovician ice age and resulting mass extinction should not have happened since it was “scientifically impossible.” This is because during the Late Ordovician period, atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are believed to have been 8 – 20 times (3120 – 7800 ppm) what we have now (390 ppm). Yet, for some reason or reasons,  the Earth went into a devastating ice age.

To this date scientists have not even a beginning of a consensus as to how the Ordovician ice age happened or what caused it.

What In The Hell Do They Think Is Causing It?

Mr. Gore demands to know, “what in the hell do they think is causing it?”

The answer is of course – assuming that we should in the light of the shoddy work, fraud, and academic corruption even begin to trust the data saying that it is happening in the first place – that we don’t know and neither do you and your cultists!

Maybe someone should try to objectively find out instead of taking actions based upon agenda-driven fraud and blind faith.

The cultists of Al Gore’s pseudo-religion, Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW), desperately want this scandal to be dismissed and forgotten.

Sadly for them, the leaked material comprised more than 1000 e-mails, 2000 documents, as well as the commented FORTRAN source code for modeling and data analysis, pertaining to Global Warming or Climate Change research from 1996 to 2009.  Much of it was very detrimental to both their credibility and their faith.

Possibly worse for them, those emails included discussions of how best to combat the arguments of climate change skeptics, defamatory comments about those skeptics, various queries from journalists, drafts of scientific papers, apparently successful attempts to keep scientists who have contrary views out of peer-review literature, and talk of destroying various files in order to prevent raw, unmodified data being revealed under the Freedom of Information Act.

President Obama’s “Climate Czar,” the Director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy, Carol Browner, was especially fervent in her denial of the issues uncovered by Climategate. Irrespective of whatever evidence of shoddy work and outright  malfeasance has come to light, she’s holding firm to the Warmists’ dogma and dismissing any complaints as irrelevant and from some “fringe” of society.

She’s either a True Believer in the Cult of Global Warming, or she just wants to keep her job, which is predicated on the Warmists’ doctrine, and remain somehow relevant.

There has been for a very long time a very small group of people who continue to say this isn’t a real problem, that we don’t need to do anything. On the other hand, we have 2,500 of the word’s foremost scientists who are in absolute agreement that this is a real problem and that we need to do something and we need to do something as soon as possible.

What am I going to do, side with the couple of naysayers out there or the 2,500 scientists? I’m sticking with the 2,500 scientists.I mean, these people have been studying this issue for a very, very long time, and agree that the problem is real.

A very small group of people who continue to say this isn’t a real problem? A couple of naysayers? Carol Browner obviously has as little grasp of math as she apparently does of any other hard sciences. The Pew Research Center’s most recent survey concerning Global Warming showed that only 57% of Americans believed that there is solid evidence that the Earth is warming at all and only 36% believed that such warming was anthropogenic in origin.

Since there are approximately 305 million people in the US, that means that around 131 million of them don’t believe that there is solid evidence to support the theory of Global Warming and around 195 million of them, while believing that there is evidence to support the theory of Global Warming, don’t think that the evidence solidly supports the claim that it is primarily a human caused situation.

Nobody in anything remotely close to their right mind would honestly try to describe between 100 – 200 million people as “a very small group” or “a couple of naysayers.” Of course this isn’t about honesty; it’s about denying that her raison d’être – and her raison d’être employé – isn’t being accepted as much as she needs it to be and that it just got exposed, once again, as being based on poor data, substandard modeling, slipshod analysis, and an agenda-driven “group think” that actively silenced contrary opinions and theories.

There’s a certain schadenfreude to be derived from watching the Warmists, who disparagingly label any dissenters or skeptics as “Deniers,” running around in denial themselves. Indeed, the delectatio morosa that one can derive from the Warmists’ childish reaction to the discomfiture that Climategate has caused them is positively sinful.

They can deny the problem all that they want to. They can dismiss the scandal and the flaws and malfeasance it uncovered and forced into the public eye all that they want to. Doing so doesn’t change the fact that there is still debate about Global Warming, both its very existence and its possible causes, and that Climategate dramatically hurt their position.

Repent! The End is Near!

Lo! And the seas shall boil and the skies shall burn, and the grass will be parched and a third of the trees laid waste! And this will happen at 10:00AM, twice on Saturdays!

Repent now, you sinners steeped in depravity – or a Developed Nation’s prosperity – lest God or Al Gore smite you.

I wonder how long it will be before the Warmists develop their own version of the Rapture? I suppose that will have to wait until we have better spaceflight though.
