Once installed in office, Obama had to start his reelection campaign – after all, keeping his job as long as possible is always Job #1. This presented a problem for the Campaigner-in-Chief; how do you redistribute wealth, after you’ve gone to such great lengths to convince your followers that it’s a declining and failing resource?

Fortunately for Obama, his handlers were up to the challenge. They managed to shift their boy’s message from, “Make Them Pay” to “Make Them Hurt Too” – and spreading poverty is so much easier than spreading wealth anyway.

Sadly for actual Americans, political appointees by President Obama, our First Black President, who report to Attorney General Eric Holder, our First Black US Attorney General, ordered the career Justice Dept. lawyers to reverse their decision and drop the already won case without sanctions against the Black Power extremists.

A Justice Department spokesman on Thursday confirmed that the agency had dropped the case, dismissing two of the men from the lawsuit with no penalty and winning an order against the third man that simply prohibits him from bringing a weapon to a polling place in future elections.

– Jerry Seper
May 29, 2009 – The Washington Times

Apparently, under President Obama and A.G. Holder, the “change we can expect” is a complete change in the meaning of “under Color of Law” – at least when it comes to who is allowed to vote in safety.

If I were type to expect politicians and such to keep their word and hold to their oaths, I’d be very disappointed by this obviously racist ruling by Obama and Holder’s Justice Department.

These career professionals are not only the backbone of DOJ, they are its soul. If I am confirmed as attorney general, I will listen to them, respect them and make them proud of the vital goals we will pursue together.

In fact, if I have the honor of becoming attorney general, I will pursue a very specific set of goals:

First, I will work to strengthen the activities of the federal government that protect the American people from terrorism. Nothing I will do is more important.

I will use every available tactic to defeat our adversaries, and I will do so within the letter and spirit of the Constitution. Adherence to the rule of law strengthens security by depriving terrorist organizations of their prime recruiting tools. America must be a beacon to the world. We will lead by strength, we will lead by wisdom and we will lead by example.

Second, I will work to restore the credibility of a department badly shaken by allegations of improper political interference. Law enforcement decisions and personnel actions must be untainted by partisanship. Under my stewardship, the Department of Justice will serve justice, not the fleeting interests of any political party.

– Eric Holder
January 15, 2009 – Confirmation Hearing

Except that Holder will apparently allow career professionals to be summarily overruled when it involves Blacks committing voter intimidation. Except that Holder will not allow even civil action to be taken against Black terrorists like the New Black Panther Party. Except that Holder will do what he can to serve the partisan interests of the Democratic Party and it’s thuggish operatives.

It seems possible, in the light of this abomination, that the US Department of Justice, under A.G. Holder, is being subordinated to the racist cause of Black Power. That is somewhat surprising, but only in the overtness of their actions.

From November 4th through January 20th the American media and the blogosphere have been abuzz with one single meme - America has elected its first Black President. In an orgy of self-congratulation the media has made sure to focus on Obama's race, either centering articles on it or injecting references to it in articles about the incoming POTUS. It is difficult to find anything on the election or Obama what doesn't mention he's our 1st Black President.

The blogosphere has been similarly awash with such things, but also includes more direct - and often gloating - glorification of our electing an African-American or Black President. They've tend to also include claims that Obama's is the fulfillment of MLK's Dream, paraphrase and/or parrot Michelle Obama's "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country," comment, or crow variations of, "My President Is Black" - often including, "-- and now so is yours!"

On Tuesday, November 4, 2008 the Liberals and the vast majority of Blacks – with the tacit help of the Conservatives and Values Voters who stayed home in droves rather than vote for the centrist Sen. John McCain – elected Sen. Barack Obama to the office of President, and on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, America Inaugurated him as the 44th US President.

From November 4th through January 20th the American media and the blogosphere have been abuzz with one single meme – America has elected its first Black President.
The blogosphere has been similarly awash with such things, but also includes more direct – and often gloating – glorification of our electing an African-American or Black President. They’ve tend to also include claims that Obama’s is the fulfillment of MLK’s Dream, paraphrase and/or parrot Michelle Obama’s “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country,” comment, or crow variations of, “My President Is Black” – often including, “– and now so is yours!”

In response - in what is admittedly at least in part a fit of peevishness and Distopian angst – I’ve personally dubbed January 20, 2009 as Black Tuesday.

All bitterness, angst, and peevishness aside, I have a couple of significant issues with the intense focus on the meme or trope of Barack Obama being America’s first Black or African-American President. I will never deny that Obama’s race made his election historically significant. I don’t think it should be the defining theme of President Obama though. That (mis)defintion would do a great disservice to both Obama and America.

A False Ending

This seeming orgy of self-congratulation strikes me as wrong because it could easily engender in many the belief that America is now Post-Racial, that racism has ended in America except for a few aging social dinosaurs. America likes neat and tidy ending; they like closure, even when it’s false. This attitude toward Obama’s election just makes it to easy for us to think that racism has a fixed point in time for its ending.

Racism is alive and well – even though we elected Obama as POTUS. It’s staring out at us through the hate and distrust filled eyes of Whites, Blacks, Latinos, Asians, Muslims, etc… It’s not going away anytime soon, and when it does finally pass into history I doubt society will even recognize exactly when it ended. The election of Barack Obama, a man identified as Black, to the office of President is a milestone in race relations, but not an endpoint or terminus. It is irresponsible of the media to rave about our doing so without also mentioning that fact.

Vilifying Dissent

There is a possibility that there is a sinister component to the media’s defining of President Obama as America’s 1st Black President. All during the 2008 election cycle – even during the primaries – the MSM was heavily tanking for Obama. In the general election they started manufacturing a racism, racialist, or “racial tinged” argument about nearly anything that the GOP said against Obama. The media’s current behavior could just be an extension of this tactic.

If President Obama is defined by his race by the American media, then it becomes very easy for that media to vilify any argument against him or his actions as being racist. Examples of this could be seen by the MSM declaring that “Socialist” and “Palling around with terrorists” were both racist – technically they said “racially tinged,” but that’s just a dog-whistle and everyone knew it – comment.

What the media says – if it plays to the preconceptions of the masses – the people will believe and act upon. So if the MSM is trying to define President Obama by his race, they’re not just being irresponsible; they’re violating every tenet of journalistic ethics and committing a gross crime against our nation in the process.

A Final Note

America’s election of a non-White man to the highest office in the land was a historic event, and one every American should be proud of – even those of us voted against him based on his politics. Let’s just keep it perspective, not get carried away with congratulating ourselves, and not let Obama’s race be used by the media or anyone else to marginalize, quell, or silence legitimate opposition to him and/or his policies and actions.

A Quick Synopsis

America,

You're hurting really badly and it's your own fault for not ensuring that wealth was spread evenly across your population base. You allowed the wealthy to do this to you because you never accepted that that your country had grown strong by exploiting the workers.

The only solution to your problems is to come together as a collective body under the guidance of the state. By doing so you will ensure that all share in the duty that you all bear to assuage the sins of your nation and your heritage. This can be accomplished by subsidizing the poorer nations of the world and ushering us all into a new golden age of Global Socialism.

This must be done. Any who disagree are not only unpatriotic but go against the will of God.

That's my personal take on President Obama Inaugural Address.

Today, January 20,2009, Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States of America. Many people were wildly happy over this, many others were far less than happy, or even sanguine, about this course of events.

Here is the full transcript of Obama’s Inaugural Address:

My fellow citizens:

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.

Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because we the people have remained faithful to the ideals of our forebears, and true to our founding documents.

So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.

That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.

These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land — a nagging fear that America’s decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.

Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

We remain a young nation, but in the words of scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of shortcuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted — for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things — some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.

For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life.

For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth.

For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sahn.

Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction.

This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions — that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.

For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act — not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology’s wonders to raise health care’s quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. And all this we will do.

Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions — who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.

What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them — that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. And those of us who manage the public’s dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.

Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control — and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart — not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.

As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our founding fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience’s sake. And so to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

We are the keepers of this legacy. Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats that demand even greater effort — even greater cooperation and understanding between nations. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people, and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat, and roll back the specter of a warming planet. We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.

For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.

To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society’s ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.

To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world’s resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.

As we consider the road that unfolds before us, we remember with humble gratitude those brave Americans who, at this very hour, patrol far-off deserts and distant mountains. They have something to tell us today, just as the fallen heroes who lie in Arlington whisper through the ages. We honor them not only because they are guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service; a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. And yet, at this moment — a moment that will define a generation — it is precisely this spirit that must inhabit us all.

For as much as government can do and must do, it is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies. It is the kindness to take in a stranger when the levees break, the selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend lose their job which sees us through our darkest hours. It is the firefighter’s courage to storm a stairway filled with smoke, but also a parent’s willingness to nurture a child, that finally decides our fate.

Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends — hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism — these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility — a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.

This is the price and the promise of citizenship.

This is the source of our confidence — the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.

This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed — why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.

So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America’s birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:

“Let it be told to the future world … that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive…that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet (it).”

America, in the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.

It was a well-crafted speech, as are all of Obama’s pre-written and rehearsed orations. It was not one of is more rousing or memorable ones though; it was somewhat lackluster as compared to some of his previous monologues. I think on this “momentous occasion” he and his writing team could have and should have done better.

But enough with nigh on useless commentary on form and style. What did Obama actually say? What was the content of the “opening line” of his gambit as President? Here’s my take on the substance of what President Obama actually said:

President Obama is explicitly aligning his regime with our Founding fathers and, by doing so, tacitly questioning the patriotism of any who would dissent from his vision.

President Obama believes America is in dire straits – I have to agree with him on that singular point – and he believes it’s the fault of both the wealthy and those those sat by and allowed them gain wealth.

President Obama has declared that political discourse and debate is counterproductive to the needs of the nations. He implicitly states that disunity must be put aside in favor of a singular vision.

President Obama reinforces the idea that was central to his campaign, that the needs and desires of the individual must be subordinated to the collective will of the state.

President Obama believes that America was built on the backs of the poor, the desperate immigrants, and the slave trade.

President Obama believes in Anthropogenic Global Warming and most likely favors the measures set forth in the Kyoto Treaty.

President Obama believes in expanding the role and size of the federal government.

President Obama believes it is the duty of America to provide money – that would be our tax dollars – and support to the poorer nations of the world.

President Obama is an anti-Nationalist and believes that America should guide the world into a Global Government, most likely under the rule of the United Nations.

President Obama doesn’t like America as it stands and desires to remake it from the ground up.

A Quick Synopsis

America,

You’re hurting really badly and it’s your own fault for not ensuring that wealth was spread evenly across your population base. You allowed the wealthy to do this to you because you never accepted that that your country had grown strong by exploiting the workers.

That’s my personal take on President Obama’s Inaugural Address. I arrived at my interpretation of his speech by reviewing it in the context of his campaign rhetoric and the content of his previous written works. Your own opinions may very drastically – and there’s approximately a 52% chance that they do.

It’s January 18, 2009 and just two days until President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration as the 44th President of the United States of America – or the coronation of Obama I, the Holy Emperor of America.

Divine Emperor Obama I

For the first time in the 220 years since George Washington’s inauguration as the 1st US President the clergy has anointed the the doorway through which the incoming POTUS will proceed with sanctified oil, marks of the cross, and prayer. Specifically they anointed the doorposts and lintel of doorway that Obama will on his way to the platform to be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.

Anointing with oil is a rich tradition both in the Bible and in the history of the US Capitol. Oil symbolizes consecration, or setting something apart for God’s use. George Washington used oil during the dedication of the US Capitol. We used oil today to set apart the walkway and doors that will be the literal right of passage for Barack Obama as he ascends to the highest office in our land.

– Rev. Rob Schenck
President and co-founder of Faith and Action

I find these people’s action very disturbing. Is America inaugurating a President or coronating a King, Emperor, or Pope? The implications of this “literal right of passage” are profound – or would be if this behavior is accepted by the American people.

I’m sorry, but this consecrated gateway to set apart the inauguration platform “for God’s use” smacks heavily of Divine Right of Kings, something we turned away from in US over two centuries ago. I don’t really think that America needs to bring back the trappings of Emperor Charlemagne, King George III, or Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.

I’m going to interrupt my own rant to state that there is no evidence linking Obama to this incident; the rite seems to have been performed without his consent or knowledge.

At this point in our nation’s life the American people are desperate for a leader, someone to take charge and – in the case of Obama – bring “Hope” and “Change.” That makes it absolutely the worst time in our nation’s life to do anything that expands the public’s view of the powers and duties of the Presidency. This is especially true when we’re inaugurating a popular and successful demagogue such as Barack Obama.

There is also the potential Constitutional issue of the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment. If one ascribes to the non-preferentialist interpretation of that Clause, then this consecrating of the passageway leading to the inauguration ceremony is a violation of the 1st Amendment.

Dear readers, perilous times are upon us. It is not the cliff that we must fear; it is the small and measured steps into dissolution that we take all blindly and unknowingly.

On January 14, 2009, at 3:45PM President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joseph Biden held a pre-inaugural meeting with Justices of the Supreme Court Of the United States (SCOTUS), including Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., a fellow Harvard law graduate whose confirmation Obama opposed three years ago.

In and of itself this is nothing particularly unusual. Twice in recent history, incoming presidents have paid pre-inaugural visits to the SCOTUS. President Reagan and Vice President George H.W. Bush did so in 1981, and President Clinton and Vice President Al Gore in 1992.

What makes Obama’s and Biden’s visit with the SCOTUS Justices something of interest – and possibly something of a problem – is that both Obama and Biden are named Defendants in multiple lawsuits throughout the country, which are challenging the Constitutional eligibility of Barack Obama’s Presidency. Several of these lawsuits are currently awaiting decisions by the US Supreme Court as to whether or not the court will hear them.

It would be a reasonable assertion, if not a foregone conclusion, that by meeting with Obama and Biden the SCOTUS Justices violated legal professional responsibility rules.

A JUDGE SHALL UPHOLD AND PROMOTE THE INDEPENDENCE, INTEGRITY, AND IMPARTIALITY OF THE JUDICIARY, AND SHALL AVOID IMPROPRIETY AND THE APPEARANCE OF IMPROPRIETY

– American Bar Association
ABA Model Code Of Judicial Conduct – February 2007
Canon 1, Rule 1.2

Biden is a veteran Senator and Obama is a product of the Chicago school of politics. Not to put too fine a point on it, but one would have to be horribly naive to be surprised at impropriety or the appearance of impropriety on their respective parts; skirting the edges of the law, if not outright violating it, are expected behaviors of those sorts of politicians. However, America has always held its judiciary to a higher standard of behavior than it has its Legislature.

Lower court judges have been removed from the bench for meeting privately with defendants in criminal or tort cases. I wonder what standard will be applied to the SCOTUS in this new era.

This outrages homosexuals" href="http://blog.jonolan.net/politics/obamas-invocation/" target="_self">Pastor Rick Warren, who advocate for Proposition 8 to perform the Invocation at Obama’s January 20th Inauguration. In the wake of California’s passage of Proposition 8, Homosexuals and their allies have done much to keep this topic in the forefront of our nation’s consciousness. What has been largely ignored by the media, and therefor what resides outside the ken of much of America is that there are two (2) religious rites at an Inauguration – the Invocation and the Benediction.

I find it quite telling and quite sad that only the Invocation is considered newsworthy, and that only because of the controversy surrounding Obama’s selection of Pastor Warren to perform. Obama’s choice of the priest to deliver the Benediction should have gotten a lot more coverage than has so far.

<img class="left-image" title="Rev. Joseph E. Lowery, a stalwart of the civil rights movement and co-founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) to perform the Benediction at Obama’s Inauguration.

The 87-year-old retired pastor has been a stalwart of the civil rights movement. For over a half century Lowell as been in the front lines in the fight for racial equality.

In the 1950s – prior to much of the more publicized Civil Rights movements – Lowery headed the Alabama Civic Affairs Association, an organization devoted to the desegregation of buses and public places.

In 1957, Lowery, along with Revs. Martin Luther King Jr., Ralph David Abernathy and Fred Shuttlesworth, co-founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), the Civil Rights organization that propelled Dr. King to international prominence.

In 1959, Lowery’s property was seized in along with that of other civil rights leaders by the State of Alabama as part of a libel suit filed by the Montgomery, AL police department. It took four years and U.S. Supreme Court ruling to reverse the lower courts decision.

Rev. Lowery is a co-founder and former president of the Black Leadership Forum, an umbrella organization for various civil rights groups. As part of the Black Leadership Forum Lowery was among the first five African Americans to get arrested at the South African Embassy in Washington D.C. during the anti-apartheid demonstrations.

Reverend Lowery has repeatedly advocated for LGBT rights, considering them nothing more or less than normal civil rights, and supports same-sex marriage as one of those basic rights that all Americans are inherently owed.

Gods in their Heavens! Lowery led the Selma March at MLK’s direct request in March, 1965. Go look up “Bloody Sunday”!

It’s truly sickening that the MSM in its quest for ratings and its fervor to denounce Conservatives has willfully ignored Rev. Lowery’s selection to perform perform the Benediction at President-elect Obama’s Inauguration.

All across America LGBT groups and their Liberal allies are outraged by President-elect Barack Obama’s choice of Pastor Richard D. “Rick” Warren to perform the Invocation at the Inauguration on January 20, 2009.

Their queers’ problem is that Warren, Pastor of Saddleback Church, publicly supported California’s Proposition 8. They view Obama’s honoring him in any way is seen as a slap in the face.

They’re right. President-elect Obama’s selection of Pastor Rick Warren to perform the Invocation at his Inauguration is a “slap in the face” to the LGBT community’s currently vehement and vitriolic – but fully understandable and expected- single-issue mindset. For those whose sole self-identification is as homosexuals, Obama’s selection of Warren is painful blow.

So why would Obama choose the controversial Pastor of Saddleback Church?

Well, it could be that President-elect Obama has no issues with Pastor Warren’s Biblically based opposition to gay marriage. Obama has never said that he was in favor of gay’s being allowed to marry. Obama has previously stated exactly the opposite.

Instead it could be that Obama sees Pastor Rick Warren differently than the LGBT community does. It is very probable that he doesn’t look at Warren solely through the narrow lens of gay rights as expressed through marriage.

Not only is Pastor Rick Warren the founder and leader of the 4th largest church in America, he is a bestselling author of numerous Christian books. U.S. News and World Report named him one of “America’s Top 25 Leaders.” Time magazine listed him as one of the “15 World Leaders Who Mattered Most in 2004″ and as one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” in 2005. Pastor Warren has also been sought out to speak at various national and international forums including the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, the African Union, the Council on Foreign Relations, Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and Time’s Global Health Summit.

The often controversial Pastor Warren has repeated went against the narrow and conservative views of US evangelical leaders by focusing less on issues such as abortion and gay marriage and calling on the church to include: fighting international poverty and disease, expanding educational opportunity for the marginalized, and combating global warming in their core agendas.

Perhaps President-elect Obama feels that a religious leader who is busy mobilizing – directly or indirectly – hundreds of thousands, if not millions of churchgoers worldwide to actively combat poverty, disease, lack of education, and environmental depredation is fit to give the Invocation and his Inauguration – even if that religious leader holds to the Biblical view of marriage being between one man and one woman.

Yes, it’s a “slap in the face” to the American LGBT community, but isn’t that classically what ones does to the hysterical in order to get them to pause, focus, and think rationally?

There is no room in the inn it seems.

The Obama family were told that Blair House, which is where incoming presidents usually stay in the five days before Inauguration Day, is already booked in early January for “receptions and gatherings” by members of the outgoing Bush administration. Those receptions, a White House official said, “don’t make it suitable for full-time occupancy by the Obamas yet.”

The Blair House, which has stood facing the White House for over 180 years will be ready and awaiting the Obamas’ tenancy on January 15th, 2009, in accordance with longstanding White House protocol.

Perhaps – if Obama asks nicely – Bill and Hillary may let him and his family “sublet” the Trowbridge House which is the Guest House for Former Presidents. It is directly adjacent to the Blair House.

And hey! In keeping with the sarcastically Christmas-esque theme, it seems that in Italy they’ve gone beyond the unfortunate lack of room at the inn and added Obama to the Nativity!

In all truth the above post isn’t – or shouldn’t be – news. Sadly, the Liberal media is reporting on it – and in an inflated, biased and negative tone – in an effort to create a myth about Obama being treated poorly by the outgoing Bush administration.

BTW: It should be humorously noted that the Italians have a positive mania about the nativity and often add very large numbers of irregular figures to their nativity scenes. The Obamas are hardly first additions, nor are they the oddest by far.
