I agree-I think overall McCain's plan is probably best for the US and Pakistan. Trying to get all parties to work together is probably best. The US conducting solo cross border attacks have never made us any friends & always causes old videos of freshly killed "innocents" to resurface. As for Obama, I'm not really sure how committed he is to keeping his word about using military force. Could just be sabre-rattling on his part to portray himself as a strong leader & even the playing field with McCain & his military experience. As we've seen, he will say absolutely anything to get elected. I see peace coming to the Pakistan region about as soon as it comes to the Middle East-not in our lifetime.

Pakistan is ponying up to some degree and it's actions have even caused Pakistanis to seek refuge in Afghanistan.
I think the McCain plan is better only in that the Pakistan government needs and deserves to be respected until it proves itself unworthy. Ultimately when that happens Pakistan will likely be at war with itself.
