Medicine, especially oncology and neurosurgery is more advanced in the US than in Europe and Canada. People who need such treatments come here, either on their own dime or – in some cases – at the expense of their own country’s health system. That’s not propaganda; that’s fact.

On the other hand, more mainstream treatments are available in those countries free or nearly of free of charge – even to tourists.

1 – That is extremely rare. This is more propaganda than truth. It is extremely rare that a citizen of europe comes to the USA, even with money. On the other hand, we just had a piece on mizozo about stephen hawking citing exactly the opposite.

2 – While there is much truth to this, this isn’t entirely true. Many medical advances come from Germany, England and France. I do admit, the majority comes from the states.

One – those people in Europe and Canada who can afford to do so, come here to America for most advanced treatments – except replacement organs and in vitro fertilization – because those treatments aren’t available in their own countries.

Two – all of those people in Europe and Canada, and the rest of the Western World, are benefiting from the medical advances of America. Under a government run healthcare system it is likely – not assured – that such advancements would be greatly slowed because profit, which is at great risk under ObamaCare, is a great motivator for companies to spend billions of dollars on research each and every year.

It is interesting, I know a great deal of Europeans and a few Canadians … NONE of them are against their healthcare and all of them are amazed that the USA doesn’t cover their populations.
