Nice But Useless (NSFW)

There are no poor excuses for beautiful women to freely choose to display her naked or nearly naked body; doing so is good for the onlooking men’s cardiovascular health and intrinsically beautifies the environment of wherever the women happens to be.

Hot But Odd Protester

Beautiful But Useless; What Was She Protesting?

If, however, the woman is stripping down for a cause of some sort it would be better if there was some context provided. Otherwise it’s nice – very, very nice in this particular case – but largely useless.

I found this lovely and provocative image via Google’s Image Search while looking for something else. It intrigued me so I went hunting for what this was all about and found nothing.

She looks Arab, so might be protesting the misogynist Muslim tradition of forcing women to wear the burqa or naqib. Yet the setting and bystanders look European, so she might be protesting any one of the recent bans enacted by European government upon wearing the burqa or naqib.

If anyone has a link to an explanation for this protest please post it in the comments. I’m honestly interested. It’s very rare for me to utterly fail when researching a topic online.

As it stands now, her efforts were nice but seemingly useless. Fortunately “nice” has intrinsic value and appeal. :-D

    jonolan,

” I found this lovely and provocative image via Google’s Image Search while looking for something else. ”

I sometimes find something accidentally while doing research. I never found something like that.

  2. cooper Says:

    whatever she’s protesting…sign me up….

  3. jonolan Says:

    Alan,

I guess I just lucked out, though I’d still love to know what she was protesting or if it was even a protest in the first place and not some media campaign like PETA uses.

    cooper,

That was my original opinion as well. I think it’d be hard for any straight guy to feel less than sympathetic to her cause, whatever it is.

  4. Natassia Says:

Whoever did her breast augmentation screwed up big time.

    Hi jonolan;

A little off topic but not, what is your take on the Dove Evangelical Church in Florida that the White House and General Petreaus has asked not to burn Qurans on 9/11 as it may cost American soldiers and civilians live overseas?

They say they are going to burn them anyway. I wonder if anyone loses a life over this. if they can be accused of being accessories to murder?

It is an interesting case, this one.

    Natassia,

Firstly, Welcome! I hope you find and continue to find this blog of interest.

Secondly and more to the “salient points” in question, I thought the same about her breasts but then realized that it was an action. Bounce and jiggle could account for the apparent shape of here breasts as easily as poor or too-recent surgery.

Ichabod, it’s a bot off-topic, but I’ve posted on the Patraeus v. Jones issue now and we can talk about things there if you wish. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on my opinions on the matter.

On a serious note if thats to be believed.

I suspect this image to be from a protest in Belgium. I say protest but I don’t know if that is fully accurate. I further suspect the women are not 365/yr burka wearers. My money would be on it being a PETA like thing where the flashers are trying to say something more about why governments want to ban the things and what they cover and the deeper meaning of that. I think its a poke in the eye of both sides,ya know what I mean?

  9. jonolan Says:

I checked the Belgium protests when I was searching for the image’s context. No hits. It was the same with France and the rest of Europe.

  10. Natassia Says:

Let’s hope it was au natural jiggle, eh?

  11. jonolan Says:

For her sake, yes, let’s hope so. ;-)

I don’t have any links but am intriged as there appears to be a man opposite her doing the same action. She is not a practising muslim…she has fake breasts and mild capsular contracture in the one photo right. There’s a road sign is red and blue, looks British, Dutch or Belgian. The windows are double glazed but there is a sun awning too, which is a mainland europe influence. I’d bet it is a street parade, so you’d have to make your own guess as to which country would allow it.
    Good Photo

  13. jonolan Says:

Welcome, lissa, and thanks for the detailed analysis – especially on the locations.

I think the person opposite her is another woman since there’s also a woman in a cream burqa next to her flashing the crowd as well.

I too doubt she’s a practicing Muslim, but am unsure about the fakeness of her breasts. It’s an action shot and still pictures of such can be misleading – as many can attest.

Given your analysis of the possible location – and you’d know better than I – I’d rule out Britain; the Daily Mail or the Sun would have been all over a story like this and we’d have some context for it.

  14. Tasha Says:

I think I’ve found the answer. It’s described in “I’m not afraid of you! NSFW” post on reddit and found to be “Cabezo de Torres, Murcia, Spain. It was part of a carnival parade”. There are links to other photos there, as well. Photos are on laverdad.es site under title of “Día grande del carnaval de Cabezo de Torres”

  15. jonolan Says:

And so they are. Thank you, Tasha!

That explains the lack of coverage. It wasn’t a protest in and of itself. It was part of a much larger festival with lots of people in various costumes.

  16. Stephanie Booth Says:

Thanks for doing the research on this! I saw it doing the rounds on Tumblr and my BS detector went off pretty fast, but I had trouble tracking down the origin of the photo!

  17. jonolan Says:

You’re welcome, though Tasha deserves the thanks since she found the actual context for the image, the Cabezo de Torres.
