Of course it helps his position within the party that he can&#039;t force anyone to comply with his demands.  In sad point of fact, the NC Republican Party has refused to pull the ad.

Sometimes not having authority is a blessing. McCain can be ethical and even act &quot;presidential&quot; without it strongly impacting the political machinery.</description>
