DNC Headquarters

I’ve managed to dig up some behind the scenes pics of the upcoming 2012 Democratic National Convention Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. As you can see, Obama’s profligate spending has forced them to scale down from their 2008 extravaganza.

They’ve managed to keep the key elements of their ideology in place though, and that’s all that really matters, isn’t it?

That is sad…because it is true.

It is also funny for the same reason. But there’s a direct link between sorrow and humor, so that makes sense.

    Jonolan,

I’ve been waiting for someone to post this topic on their board. You are more right than you know. National Review has an article about the sorry state the Democrat North Carolina party is in. The state party is racked by multiple scandals. If they could, President Obama and the national party would move their convention to anywhere else.

Now this is just more bad luck, but just as in 2008 the stars and planets lined up for Democrats, now it is the opposite.

Well, this one was really just sarcastic humor, though seeded with the levels of truth necessary for both sarcasm and humor. I’m sure others will do more in-depth critiques of the folly of the Dems’ attempt to us NC for their purposes.

As for the stars being aligned against them this time – I’ve got to disagree. It doesn’t take heavenly intervention to scuttle them when they’ve made as much of a mess of things as they have this time around.

When I was in undergraduate school I “treated” myself with one class at the University of Dallas (private Catholic University). I had always heard of Dante’s Inferno, and associated literature.

You are an exceptional writer, and I would really like to see you tackle to choose one of the level’s of Hell for politicians OR choose your favorite bad guy.

Not that you don’t already have your plate full…just a thought

Thank you, Elaine. That’s an interest thought / request and something that, now that you’ve planted the seed in my mind, I just might do.

On a related note – Do you ever find it odd – and possibly worrying – that the only book of Dante’s Divine Comedy that enjoyed lasting widespread appeal was Inferno?

Many – most, I think – people don’t even seem to know that Purgatorio and Paradiso even exist.

I didn’t get to go to college when all of my friends went out of high school. I ALWAYS wanted to learn about the classics that were only “mentioned in passing” in high school. So when I started college at the age of 54, I wanted to KNOW EVERYTHING that could possibly be offered of the Classics like Dante’s work, Shakespear, etc.
I will tell you a tale. I don’t know if it was a horrible nightmare or real, okay? My favorite voice teacher killed herself. She was Catholic. I found out too late to go to the funeral. My mother didn’t call me from Ft. Worth to tell me until she just “happened to remember it” years later.
I never believed in hell before…until a few months passed and I had a horrible nightmare. I found myself in Hell. Catherine (my teacher) had been praying for someone to get her out. The memory of it and talking about it shakes me up too bad to go into explicit detail. There was a horrible smell and creatures I had not seen in the horror movies there grabbing at me but unable to touch me for some reason. I did find her. And, when I was taking her out of hell, I couldn’t remember which way to go…which tunnel. “God, help us.” A stream of light appeared before my feet. It came from “above?”.. but it moved like a trail to follow until I could see the exit to get out.
When I woke the next morning, I was deathly ill; I was throwing up and had a temperature. I was so weak I couldn’t get up to phone for help. I had to lay there until whatever it was subsided.
I would tell you more…IF I remember anything else, I will share it.
IF hell exists and I KNOW it does…then Heaven exists also. LOL…However, as much as I don’t like people, my perfect heaven would me my daughter and my dogs. I do have more to share, but I do not want to “push” my beliefs on anyone. It is MY personal belief that the “eternal life” most people believe in is very different that what I believe it means.

I NEVER believed in hell before this happened. I do NOT doubt for a moment I experienced “something”; but I do NOT share this tale…as a matter of fact, I have only shared it 3 times; and you are the 3rd.
I do hope I remembered everything to tell you.

Anderson Cooper interviewed Debbie Wasserman Schultz about Debbie misquoting the LA Times.

She said that ‘IT DOES NOT MATTER” when asked about her misquote of the LA TIMES to support her political agenda.

Debbie is a dangerous woman. It seems that saying whatever she thinks of saying is OK as long as she talks about her idea. Why? Is it because she feels that people are not informed, therefore she will misinform them some more, and they will remember what she said and vote for Obama.

And, why is Jim Wallis, a self declared marxist, the spiritual advisor to Obama? Marxist do not believe in God; therefore, Wallis cannot provide spiritual advice to Obama, unless Obama too is a Marxist!

How would Debbie spin this one? I assure you that if I am interviewing her, she will spin absolutely nothing! Why? Because I will yell at her and scream at her that she is an idiot who does not answer questions. Instead, she makes wrong statementes with the intent to mislead voters. She particularly aims her comments at the uninformed masses.

Only marxists, communists, dictators and others like them do stuff like that.

Very true, Edward, and that’s what the American people are facing in this war for our nation’s existence and our children’s future.
